John was having dinner when I saw him . 之后”请注意下面三个句子中when的不同意思: when he came in, I was cooking dinner . 当……时 when he came in, I had cooked the dinner. 在……前 =before when he came in, I cooked the dinner. 主句:----------------------------------- When you have finished your experiment ,please tidy the lab and put everything back in the cupboards . 3.When常用的几种句式 A ...be doing...when... I was thinking of this when I heard my name called . B, 用was(were)about to, was(were)going to , was(were) on the point of. He was going to throw the stone when he saw a passer-by. C, ...had just done...when.. We had just fallen asleep when the bell rang. 4. when与while when和while都可以引导时间状语分句,而且意思相同 区别 1) while从句中的动词必须是持续性的.(be stay ,wait, live等)而不能是瞬间性(arrive, come, get up, meet等); when从句中的动词既可以是延续性,也可以是瞬间性。 They arrived while I was sunbathing . _____we got up ,he felt sick . A while B when C since D During 2) when 从句的动作和主句的动作可以是同时,也可以是先后发生; while 则主从句两个动作同时发生. When you have finished your work, you may have a rest. While he was reading, I was writing. As the day went on, the weather got worse. He was reading the newspaper as he was waiting for the bus. 6.before The train had left before I reached station . 与before有关的句型 ①与It + be +段时间+before . It will be five years before we meet again . ②It not be+段时间+before.译成(不多久就) It wasn’t long before he told us about the whole thing. 7.after I will tell them after you leave. 8.since , 自……以来 I have been looking forward to seeing you since I saw you last. 9.until/till Let’s wait until the
