There are very important differences between the flu and the common cold. You can find the right way to deal with it when you know clearly what kind of illness you or people around you are going through. So take notes!
Having a cold usually means having a running nose and a sore throat, along with an uncomfortable feeling in your chest. You’ll probably keep sneezing and coughing. On the other hand, the flu is really bad news. Unlike a common cold, it’ll often give you a big headache, a 3-day fever, and pains all over your body. The flu can also make you feel sad and tired. And things can get even worse if this all leads to pneumonia (肺炎). Children, the elderly or people with any other illness can easily catch it. It can even lead to death. But thankfully there is a vaccine (疫苗) against the flu. A shot (注射) will reduce your chances of getting the illness by 60%—80%. So you’d better have a vaccine shot if you want to keep away from the flu.
More good news, when it comes to help deal with the illnesses, the flu and a common cold have much in common. In both cases, you should drink plenty of water juice and other healthy drinks, and you also need tears to help take away viruses (病毒) from your body. And get plenty of rest, so your body will be back to fight against viruses.
