Instead, all plastic Sprite bottles will be clear. The reason for that is that Sprite’s green plastic has green PET, a material that can’t be recycled into new bottles. The move is part of the company’s greater efforts to become more environmentally responsible. “When recycled, clear PET Sprite bottles can be remade into bottles, helping drive a circular economy (循环经济) for plastic,” said the CEO of R3CYCLE, a plastic group helping Coca-Cola improve its recycling.
