Dear Tom,
How is everything going? In your last e-mail, you want to kown somthing about Mid autumn day, and now I will share it with you.
Mid-autumn Day is a very important Chinese festival. Falling on the 15th day of the 8th lunar month, the festival is intended to celebrate the harvest and it is also a time to enjoy the moonlight.
Usually, each family observes some common practices. Bathed in the shiny moonlight, the whole family will sit together, admiring the full moon and enjoying delicious mooncakes. In Chinese tradition, mooncakes stand for reunion, happiness and the well-being of each family. Children often gather around their parents and grandparents, listening to stories about Chang’e and Yutu with interest.
Mid-autumn Day is a festival for family reunion. No matter how far away people are from their hometown, they will manage to get back for a family get-together.
Best wishes!
Yours,
Li Hua
