Teaching Design for Grammar blank-filling
** No.1 Senior High School
The Analysis of Learning Material
Grammar blank-filling is an important part in the college entrance examination which takes up 15 scores. However, most students get low grades because of a lack of skills and special training. This class is aimed to help students improve the efficiency and accuracy in doing Grammar blank-filling.
First, students will be guided to know about the requirements and distribution of basic testing points of Grammar blank-filling. Then, Through observation and analysis, students will be required to summarize some skills by themselves. Besides, the usual steps in doing Grammar blank-filling will be introduced.
The Analysis of Students
Students have done many exercises of Grammar blank-filling, but they have problems filling the blanks quickly and accurately. They don’t have a comprehensive understanding of the basic testing points. They don’t know how to deal with the blanks without a given word. What’s more, a lack of useful skills is also one of the main reasons that lead to the failure in this part. Based on my students’ learning ability, the learning objectives are set as follows.

Idea and strategy
According to the characteristics of the Grade One students and requirements of the syllabus, I designed some activities to enable students to master the skills in doing Grammar blank-filling. I adopted the strategies of observation and analysis to make sure they can keep pace with the content of the class.

The Teacher chooses one student to make a summary about what he or she has learnt from this class.

Step VIII. Homework (Set ten blanks by yourself)
The most important holiday in spring, especially for Christians, is Easter. This Christian holiday is not on the same date every year, but it’s always on a Sunday. It can be any Sunday between March 22 and April 25. Many people celebrate Easter by buying new clothes. Children celebrate by hunting for colored eggs that their parents have hidden around the house. People also give Easter baskets filled with candy and other goodies to one another to celebrate the day.
Many people go to church to celebrate Jesus’ resurrection. In both American and Belgium, children look for Easter Eggs hidden on lawns. In Bulgaria, red eggs are lucky in churches; Bulgaria families also hit these Easter Eggs together to see whose is the strongest. The winner looks forward to good fortune that year.
