根据“For a long time...brands won these races. Now a Chinese brand has made history.”(长期以来……
根据“He worked at a repair shop at 16”(他16岁在修理店工作),可知爱上摩托车是在工作之前,即小时候,“In his childhood”是固定搭配,表示“在他的童年时期”,childhood符合时间线。
根据“He had the...to follow his heart.”以及后文“His courage and wisdom live on”(他的勇气和智慧永存),可知此处指勇气。
根据“It is not about chasing a trophy...It is about...loving the ride.”(不是为了追逐奖杯……
根据“Many people saw the videos and felt proud. They look up to him.”(许多人看了视频感到自豪。
根据“I felt this bike had...special."(我觉得这辆摩托车有……
根据“lost money...it spent a lot on research”(亏钱……
根据“Now its hard work is starting to...After the win, people bought over 5,500 bikes”(现在努力开始…… take off“起飞”虽可喻成功,但“hard work pays off”是更常见搭配;show up“出现”不符合句意。
根据“People around the... world”(……

B
Recently, I asked a seeing friend who had just walked in the woods what she had noticed. “Nothing special,” she replied.
How was it possible, I asked myself, to walk through the woods and see nothing worthy of note? I who cannot see find hundreds of things to interest me only through touch. If I can get so much pleasure from touch, how much more beauty must be found by sight (视力)? And I have imagined what I should most like to see if I were given the use of my eyes for just three days.
On the first day, I should want to see the people who have made my life worth living and the books which have been read to me. In the afternoon, I should take a walk in the woods and admire the beauties of nature. That night, I should not be able to sleep.
On my second day, I should go to the museums to see man’s progress. I should try to explore the spirit of man through his art. In the evening, I should spend at the movies.
The following day, I should spend in the world of common people going about the business of life. At midnight, permanent night would close in on me again, and I should realize how much I had left unseen.
I who am blind can give one suggestion to those who see: Use your eyes as if tomorrow you would be blind. The same is true of other senses. Hear the songs of birds, as if you would be deaf tomorrow. Smell the flowers, as if tomorrow you could never smell again... But of all the senses, I’m sure that sight must be the most pleasant.

根据第四段“In the evening, I should spend at the movies.”
根据第五段“At midnight, permanent night would close in on me again,”可知,结合海伦・凯勒盲人的身份,此处是指三天后作者将重回黑暗;据此可以推断“permanent night”指“永恒的黑夜”;因此,“permanent”与“endless”同义。

You visit a park one day and someone nearly hits you while riding their bike. You feel like you’ve experienced this event before. Has this happened to you? This strange feeling is actually quite common in psychology (心理学). It is known as “déjà vu (似曾相识的感觉)”.
Experts say about two out of three people have had the experience at least once. The feeling might last no more than a few seconds and there’s no warning of when it’s about to happen, making it extremely difficult to study. How can we explain this kind of feeling? Much that is known about déjà vu is based on surveys. Still, researchers have come up with new ways to study it in the wild.
Scientists have tried to use VR technology to reproduce it. In one experiment, scientists got people into video games to study déjà vu. For example, they used the trees in the game’s garden to take the place of trash cans. When players looked at the garden, they experienced a sense of déjà vu.
Scientists think déjà vu might be explained as a simple failure of memory. We see something that looks similar to something we’ve seen before, but our brains fail to find the exact memory. However, the brain still finds out the similarity, leaving us with a sense of familiarity.
Should we be worried when we experience déjà vu? As long as it doesn’t affect your daily life, experts think there is no need to worry. In fact, some scientists believe that it may be helpful. They believe déjà vu might be caused by the brain rearranging (重新组织) misplaced memories. This could show that our memories are working well. This theory (理论) also explains why younger people are more likely to experience it, as their brains are still growing.
36. Why does the author talk about getting hit in a park in Paragraph 1?
A. To tell a story of one’s past. B. To show the danger of riding.
C. To give an example of déjà vu. D. To encourage people to learn psychology.
37. If experts ask 300 people if they have the experience of déjà vu, about ________ might say “yes”.
A. 100 B. 150 C. 200 D. 300
38. When your brain ________, you will experience déjà vu.
A. is worried or surprised B. is working well
C. finds the exact memory D. makes a small mistake
39. Scientists think déjà vu ________.
A. brings great trouble to daily life B. is harmful to young people’s memory
C. stops our brains from growing properly D. shows our memory is in good condition
40. What’s the best title of the text?
A. How to Stop Déjà vu B. Déjà vu: A Strange Feeling
C. A New VR Technology D. Why Brains Make Mistakes
C 37. C 38. D 39. D 40.
