① festival 名词“节日；节期”，a traditional festival 意为“一个传统节日”；holiday 名词“假日；假期”，on holiday 意为“在度假”。

② celebrate 动词“庆祝；庆贺”，名词为 celebration；celebrate 后直接跟宾语，如 celebrate the Spring Festival。

③ tradition 名词“传统”，traditional 是形容词“传统的”，如 a traditional dish。

④ unusual 形容词“不寻常的”，由 usual 加否定前缀 un- 构成，副词为 unusually。

⑤ treat 动词／名词“招待；款待”，treat sb. to sth. 意为“用某物招待某人”。

⑥ reunion 名词“团聚；重逢”，a family reunion 意为“家庭团聚”。

⑦ whole 形容词“整个的”，常用 the whole + 名词，如 the whole family。

⑧ hang 动词“悬挂；挂”，过去式和过去分词均为 hung；hang out 意为“闲逛”。

⑨ dish 名词“菜肴；盘子”，复数为 dishes；也可指“一道菜”。

⑩ duty 名词“职责；义务”，on duty 意为“值班”。
