Things improved in 2006 when tangka was added to China’s national intangible cultural heritage list (非物质文化遗产名录). After that, the government helped more people learn. Now, there are special schools and studios for tangka. “At my school, everyone is welcome. We give students free things, and Tibetan students don’t have to pay tuition (学费),” Chodron said. “Now families are more open-minded, and more girls are learning it.”
Chodron also runs tangka workshops for tourists. People from China and abroad learn how to paint tangka. Besides, tourists can also try making Tibetan clothes, pottery and woodcarving. Andrea stopped the car. When the old lady got in, Andrea could see that she was not that little.
She was in a long dress and had a hat pulled down low over her eyes. She put her big brown shopping bag down onto the floor.
“Do you live in Brockboune?” asked Andrea. “No, dear,” answered the old lady in a low voice. “I’m just going to visit a friend, but my car won’t start, so I decided to hitchhike.”
Something in the way the lady spoke made Andrea uneasy. Andrea secretly studied the half-covered face, the shapeless body, and the arms with their thick black hairs … Thick black hairs? Andrea’s blood froze. This wasn’t a woman. It was a man!

Read the passage and answer the questions.
The sun was falling behind the hills. Andrea was driving back home to Brockboune.
Then she saw an old lady, standing by the road, with a sign saying “Brockboune” in her hand.
Her heart was beating wildly and her mind raced. Then suddenly, an idea came up to her. She stopped the car in a sudden. “My god!” she shouted, “A child! Did you see the child? I think I hit her?” “I didn’t see anything.” the “old lady” said. “I don’t think you hit anything.” “I’m sure it was a child!” shouted Andrea, “Could you just get out and have a look?” The “old lady” slowly opened the car door, leaving her bag inside. As soon as she was out of the car, Andrea drove away as soon as possible.
Several minutes later, Andrea thought about the “old lady’s” bag and opened it carefully. There was only one thing in it — a shining knife.

【导语】本文是一篇记叙文。主要讲述了Andrea在开车回家途中搭了一位“老妇人”,随后通过细节发现对方其实是伪装的男性持刀歹徒,并机智脱险的故事。
【48题详解】
由第二段“Then she saw an old lady, standing by the road, with a sign saying ‘Brockboune’ in her hand.”及老妇人自述“my car won’t start, so I decided to hitchhike”可知,她举牌拦车是为了搭便车前往Brockboune,故用肯定回答Yes.

【50题详解】

【答案】
Should Schools Allow Students to Use AI Tools for Homework?
I am Yiming. In my opinion, schools should allow students to use AI tools, but we must use them wisely.
First, AI can help us find information quickly and solve difficult problems. It helps us learn better. Second, if we depend on AI too much, we may stop thinking by ourselves. We might become lazy.
Therefore, I suggest teachers should guide us on how to use AI properly. We should use it to check our answers instead of copying them. Let’s make AI our helpful friend.
