B. Choose the best answer.(6分)
根据短文内容,选择最恰当的答案。
Lei Diansheng is a famous Chinese explorer and environmental protector. Born in 1963 in a small village in Harbin, he is called “the modern Xu Xiake” for their similar experiences of travelling across China. Before starting his great journey, he spent 10 years preparing carefully. He did daily long runs to build up his strength and read many books on survival to learn how to deal with sudden dangers in the wild.
From 1998 to 2008, Lei spent 10 years walking through every part of China. He travelled about 81,000 kilometres in total—almost twice around the equator (赤道)! During the long trip, he wore out 52 pairs of shoes. He faced many serious dangers, like sudden mudslides (泥石流) and wolf attacks in remote mountains. In 2008, he made history by walking alone through the Lop Nur (罗布泊), a dry, lonely and dangerous place. He walked about 1,100 kilometres in 31 days and became the first person to do that alone.
Lei didn’t just walk for fun. He visited 56 ethnic groups (民族) in China, took about 40,000 photos and wrote about 3.2 million words in his detailed notes. These notes became a “living record” of Chinese culture and nature. He also helped others during his trip—he gave money to poor students in mountain areas.
Now, Lei still works for nature and education. He leads teams to study the environment, like protecting the source of the Yangtze River. For students, he often organizes hiking camps in Heilongjiang’s forests, where kids learn about wild plants and understand local cultures. Lei’s story tells us: True adventure is not just about walking far. It’s about loving our land and protecting it.
29. Why is Lei Diansheng called “the modern Xu Xiake”?
A. He was born in Harbin.

30. What does the underlined word “survival” in Paragraph 1 mean?
A. Travelling. B. Keeping alive.
C. Taking photos. D. Making notes.
31. What does the underlined word “that” refer to in Paragraph 2?
A. Travelling all over China. B. Collecting water samples.

In the past seven years, I’ve visited a few countries that are in need of clean water. Along the way I met some inspiring (鼓舞人心的) people, and their stories made me understand the great ____35____ of clean water in their lives.
By the time I reached my first village in Mozambique (莫桑比克), a small crowd had already gathered around the water point to welcome me. Their faces were lit up with excitement as they couldn’t wait to tell me the ____36____ that clean water had made in their community.
At the front of the crowd, I met Natalia, a 15-year-old girl. Having clean water enabled her to have better health. She could spend more time in school. ____37____, she had become better educated than many of her fellow villagers.
I asked Natalia’s mother what she ____38____ of her daughter’s future. “I really hope she can become a teacher one day,” she said proudly. Natalia happened to hear us talking. She turned around and said, “I don’t want to be just a teacher. I want to be the headteacher!”
Many people I met in Mozambique told me that water is life. Once they had clean water, their health got better right away. Healthier kids would spend more time in school. Like Natalia, they would have bigger dreams as well as better chances.
For many places in the world, clean water is still ____39____. Almost 785 million people on this planet can’t get clean water. Every morning, they stand in line in front of a muddy hole in the ground. They carry dirty water all the way home and serve it to the people they love most. Poor water makes people weak and stops children from ____40____ their bright future.
You and I were lucky to be born in places where we’ve never had to worry about finding clean water.

As a result“结果”逻辑通顺。However“然而”表转折,Instead“代替”表替代,At first“起初”表时间,均不符。

“Nomophobia” — the fear of being without your phone—affects both teens and adults. It leaves people worried and disconnected. Last week, researchers from Hong Kong warned that nomophobia is affecting everyone. Their study found that people who use their phones to store and share personal memories suffer most. When users were asked to describe how they felt about their phones, words such as “hurt” and “alone” showed higher levels of nomophobia.
“The results of our study show that users view smartphones as part of themselves and become too dependent on them,” said Dr Kim Ki Joon. “People have feelings of worry and unpleasantness when they are away from their phones.” An American study also found being away from phones can raise heart rate (心率) and blood pressure.
So can being without your phone really give you nomophobia? Professor Mark Griffiths, a psychologist, says it is the social networking that creates the fear of missing out. For “screenagers”, if they can’t see what’s happening on social media, they become very worried about not knowing what’s going on. “But they get better very quickly if you take them on holiday and there’s no internet,” says Griffiths.
Turning off your phone or leaving it at home can help reduce dependence. Griffiths suggests that using phones too much harms relationships and work or study. ________. It often brings uncomfortable feelings such as anxiety or discomfort. Few people meet all these criteria (标准), Griffiths says, but many of us show at least some signs of nomophobia.

B. He likes reading Xu’s books.
C. He had experiences like those of Xu.
D. He travelled to every place Xu visited.
30. What does the underlined word “survival” in Paragraph 1 mean?
A. Travelling. B. Keeping alive.
C. Taking photos. D. Making notes.
31. What does the underlined word “that” refer to in Paragraph 2?
A. Travelling all over China. B. Collecting water samples.

32. Which one is the correct order of the following events?
① He walked alone through Lop Nur.

④ He visited different ethnic groups and took thousands of photos.
A. ②-④-①-③ B. ②-①-④-③ C. ②-④-③-① D. ④-②-①-③
33. What can we infer from Lei’s work now?
A. He expects more people to protect nature.
B. He has given up his journey completely.
C. He focuses more on travelling than on environmental work.
D. He has already finished the task of protecting the Yangtze River.
34. What is the main idea of the passage?
