Jackson, Oxford
I studied in Beijing for four years starting from 2010. When I went back recently, I couldn’t believe the changes. For example, e-payment and modern housing have made life more convenient. I admire Chinese people’s determination (决心) to succeed, family values and sense of responsibility. I think these qualities will be important for China to continue developing.
Susan, Hong Kong
I hope that China will become a more successful and powerful country. There is still a long way to go. There are many challenges and difficulties ahead, but I am sure we can overcome them if we work together.

You might think enjoying a happy memory is just a nice feeling. But science shows it actually benefits your brain in deep ways.
When you experience happiness, your brain sends out dopamine (多巴胺) and serotonin (血清素). These not only make you feel good right away, but also help to build up brain connections for that happy memory. Your brain can change and grow all through your life. Each time you recall a happy moment, you restart those same brain connections, like exercise for your brain. This keeps your brain strong and healthy. Research shows that people who often recall positive memories can get over negative experiences more quickly.
Besides these brain benefits, recalling happy memories creates an emotional resource you can use at any time. Think of it as your own emotional safety net. When you recall joyful moments, you are fully immersing (沉浸) yourself in positive experiences. This simple practice reduces stress and cheers you up, even during hard times. Happy memories also help balance your thinking when life gets difficult. A hard day feels easier to deal with when you remind yourself of beautiful moments you’ve experienced. As people age, many of them value meaningful memories more. These emotional treasures become more and more valuable over time. They bring comfort (慰藉) and remind you of your true self. This sense stays strong, no matter how your body changes.
So, recalling happy moments is not just fun. It’s a powerful tool for keeping the brain healthy. By collecting and recalling joyful experiences, you’re improving brain connections and building a stronger mind. Start today and your brain will thank you for years to come.
23.Why does the writer compare recalling happy memories to exercise?
A.Because both make you healthier.
B.Because both are difficult to start.
C.Because both need special tools.
24.What is the main idea of paragraph 3?
A.Enjoying good moments is a difficult skill.
B.Happy memories are emotional resources.
C.Happy memories make physical pain disappear.
25.What is the main purpose of the last paragraph?
A.To show the value of happy memories and call for action.
B.To compare different ways of keeping the brain healthy.
C.To explain why some people have more happy memories.
26.What is the best title for this passage?
A.The best age to recall happy moments.
B.Different ways of building a strong mind.
C.The power of recalling happy memories.

Who are the inspiring people you look up to? Many students admire talented scientists or famous sports stars. However, some of the people who move us most are common people with strong courage. Jiang Yuhe is just such a young role model.
Jiang Yuhe is a post-00s girl. She was born in a small village in Nanyang, Henan. Coming from a farmer family, she worked as an assembly line (流水线) worker at an electronics factory (电子厂) after finishing junior high school.
“I could only do repeated (重复的) work because I didn’t have much knowledge or skills,” she said. “The boring days then made me doubt the meaning of my life.”
I really knew at the time that it wasn’t the life I truly wanted. I wanted a life full of hope, and I was afraid that the work might destroy my dreams. I wanted to continue my education and get some skills.”
With her parents’ support, she left the factory and entered Henan Chemical Technician College to study chemistry and chemical engineering in March 2018. For five years, she spent nearly all her free time practicing. She failed countless times, but she refused to give up. Finally, in an international competition, she won China’s first gold medal in this field. Her hard work paid off. In 2026, she received the title Young Pioneer of the New Era. Instead of enjoying the sudden fame, she chose to work as a teacher to pass on her skills and encourage more youth.
“There are no talented people who succeed overnight. Only those who keep fighting can make their dreams come true,” she often tells her students. Her story tells us that inspiration is not about natural gifts, but about daring to change your life and keeping trying even when others doubt you.
27.What did Jiang Yuhe really want at that time?
A.To return to her village to farm.
B.To make more money at the factory.
C.To continue her education and get skills.
28.Which phrase is closest in meaning to “paid off” in Paragraph 5?
A.ended very soon B.brought good results C.cost lots of money
29.What is the main idea of the last paragraph?
A.Natural talent is the key to success.
B.Success comes from long-time effort.
C.Changes are difficult for most people.
30.Which is the best title for the passage?
A.The Difficult Life of Factory Workers
B.How to Win International Gold Medals
C.Jiang Yuhe, A Young Inspiring Role Model

We use language for all kinds of reasons, but the major one is to talk to each other. We use it to have a chat, play a game, tell jokes, ask for help, and do a thousand other things. 31 The everyday use of language is to have conversations with each other.
Having a conversation seems like the most natural thing in the world. We don’t think twice about it. But it wasn’t always that way. We had to learn how to do it. 32
What’s the most basic rule of having a successful conversation? We take turns. I speak and then you do and then I do and then you do. 33 In an argument, we do sometimes hear a lot of people speaking together. But once the argument ends, everyone takes turns again.
This is especially important if there are several people taking part in a conversation. Imagine: you’re in the street talking to three other people about the latest film Dear You. 34 If it’s going to be a successful conversation, then all four of you need to get the chance to have your say. If that happens, everyone’s happy. If that doesn’t happen, you can end up feeling quite mad.
35 We have to learn how to do it. And babies start that learning process (过程) very early on, during the first year of life. They hear their mother talking ... they coo (发出咕咕声) or babble (咿呀学语)… the mother replies…they coo or babble again… the mother replies again. Listen-speak listen-speak-listen. That’s the key of any conversation. We have to learn to be listeners as well as speakers.
A.We have to learn rules.
B.We don’t speak at the same time.
C.Turn-taking doesn’t come naturally.
D.Everyone has got something to say about it.
E.None of these could happen without language.

第四部分 读写综合(共两节,满分25分)
第一节 (共5小题;每小题2分,满分10分)
阅读下面短文,根据短文内容回答问题。
Many students have a hard time remembering things and finding the right way to study. But Tang Yihan, a student from Beijing, has her own secret way to learn: spaced repetition (间隔重复法). Spaced repetition is about reviewing what you’ve learned many times just before you forget it. This method helps you improve your memory.
Tang wasn’t always at the top of her class. Before, she often forgot what she had learned in class. Things started to change when her Chinese teacher introduced her to spaced repetition. Tang first used this method to learn ancient Chinese poems. Over the years, she has used it for all her subjects.
In general, spaced repetition suggests reviewing materials first after one day, then three days later, then a week later, and finally a month later. But Tang believes the review plan should be flexible (灵活的). “You should change your review plan to meet your own needs,” she said.
Take math as an example. After each test, Tang writes down her mistakes in a notebook and goes over them in the middle of the week. On weekends, Tang reviews the mistakes again. “I don’t just check those mistakes; I also try to find different ways to solve them,” Tang said. This active thinking often leads to surprising moments. “Sometimes, after a night’s sleep, the problems that I had struggled with (苦苦思索) suddenly become clear.”
Tang believes it’s a good idea to review difficult materials more often, while spending less time on things you already know well. Now, Tang has jumped from the middle ranks (梯队) to the top three in her class. “It is truly amazing,” she said.

My Experience of Learning English
The journey of learning English has never been smooth, so I’d like to share my experience with you. I used to have a hard time remembering new words, which made me frustrated.
To deal with this challenge, I tried the method of spaced repetition. I wrote down the new words in a notebook and reviewed them after one day, three days, a week, and a month. Not only did I review them, but I also tried to make sentences with them.
My hard work finally paid off. This experience taught me that as long as we find the right method and keep trying, we can overcome any difficulty.

Listen to the next question. Good morning, dear classmates. It's my pleasure to share my story of learning english. Two years ago, I was good at reading and writing, but I had trouble with listening and speaking. I couldn't catch up with the recording, and I spoke very slowly because I was afraid of making mistakes. I felt very worried. Then my teacher came to help me for listening. He told me to catch some key words and get the main idea for speaking. It's important to make ideas clear, so SHE advised me to use simple words and sentences. I followed my teacher's advice, then IT worked. I hope my experience will be helpful for you. That's all. Thank you. Good morning.
