Now short videos are popular among teenagers. Many students enjoy watching them during breaks or after school. It is easy to get interesting information, funny stories and useful tips in a short time. However, researchers find that short videos are slowly changing our reading habits.

When we watch short videos, we get simple and direct information quickly. Little thinking is needed as videos show pictures and sounds to tell everything. Gradually, some teenagers become less patient. They find it harder to read long articles or whole books. They prefer fast fun from short videos instead of slow and deep thinking. They may give up reading if the text is long and needs careful thought.

It does not mean we must refuse short videos completely. They are helpful and fun if we use them wisely. Experts advise teenagers to set strict time limits(限制). Spend no more than 20 minutes a day on short videos. Meanwhile, keep reading full passages to train your mind. Deep reading helps us improve our language skills and critical thinking skills. It allows us to understand ideas better and form our own opinions. So we should balance short videos and reading.

18.What problem may short videos bring to teenagers?

A.They can get useful knowledge easily. B.They may lose patience for long reading.

C.They help students think more deeply. D.They take no time out of study.

19.What is the writer’s opinion about short videos?

A.We should never watch them. B.Short videos are always bad for students.
