A new report from the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (中国社科院) shows that new AI technologies are changing how Chinese children use the Internet.
The report found that a fast-growing number of minors (未成年人) are using AI-powered products, particularly (尤其) in cities. Over 45% of the minors have used an AI-powered product at least once according to the report. And 20.5% of minors in cities said they often used AI-powered products, compared with 8.1% in rural (乡村的) areas.
Smartphones are still the main way that minors get online. In rural China, nearly 75% of children use the Internet through phones. In cities, smartwatches are becoming popular among minors to use the Internet. More parents buy smartwatches for their children because many schools don’t allow children to take smartphones.
Some people are also worried about how AI influences minors, because most smartwatches now have AI-powered apps and sometimes the apps give wrong or even harmful information to minors. China has new rules to protect minors online, but there are no rules for minors using AI-powered products. This could cause problems with how AI technologies are used and managed.
16.Why are the smartwatches becoming popular for minors in cities?
A.Because they are cheaper than smartphones.
B.Because they are more convenient than smartphones.
C.Because many parents don’t like smartphones.
D.Because children are not allowed to take smartphones.
17.What does Paragraph 4 mainly talk about?
A.The reasons why AI products are popular among minors.
B.The reasons why people are worried about the influences of AI on minors.
C.The rules that China has set to protect minors online.
D.The methods that Chinese parents have used to stop minors using AI products.

Many teachers and parents wonder how to help students keep active in study. The key is to develop students’ intrinsic motivation (内驱力), which means the inner drive to learn, not just for high marks or prizes.
When students have inner drive, they learn out of curiosity (好奇心) and interest. They will take the initiative to look up new knowledge and keep trying when meeting difficult problems. Instead of waiting for teachers’ orders, they set small learning goals by themselves.
How can we build this kind of inner drive? First, give students some space to choose what they want to explore. If the topic connects with their hobbies, they will be more willing to dig deeper. Second, praise their efforts rather than only their good grades. When they feel their hard work is seen, they will become more confident. Third, let them experience the joy of solving problems: The sense of achievement can light up their love for learning.
Students with strong inner drive do not fear failures. They treat mistakes as chances to grow. This ability helps them not only at school, but also in lifelong learning. Inner drive is the most valuable gift we can give to young learners.

29.Which way helps build students’ inner drive?

A.How to get high marks at school B.Why students have no hobbies
C.How to avoid mistakes in study D.Build Students’ Inner Drive for Learning

Dear Linda,
I’m so glad to hear from you. It has been a year since we last met. The most important change for me is that I have fallen in love with running. I run every morning because it helps me keep fit and relax.
As for tea production, tea leaves are picked by hand and then fried in a big pan. After that, they are dried and packed carefully.
If you come to Hangzhou, I suggest you visit the China National Tea Museum. It is a perfect place where you can experience tea making and learn about tea culture. I’m looking forward to your visit.
Yours,
Li Ping
