3. 语言小贴士（考点归纳）。

① success 意为“成功”，不可数名词；succeed 为动词（成功），successful 为形容词（成功的），successfully 为副词（成功地）；succeed in doing sth. 成功做某事。

② effort 意为“努力；尽力”，可数或不可数；make an effort to do sth. 努力做某事；spare no effort 不遗余力。

③ goal 意为“目标；球门”，可数名词；achieve / reach one's goal 实现目标；set a goal 设定目标。

④ achievement 意为“成就；成绩”，可数名词，由 achieve（v. 实现；达到）+ -ment 构成；a great achievement 一项伟大的成就。

⑤ excuse 意为“借口；理由”，可数名词；make an excuse 找借口；excuse me 打扰了（口语）。

⑥ preparation 意为“准备”，名词，由 prepare（v. 准备）+ -ation 构成；in preparation for 为……做准备；make preparations for 为……做准备。

⑦ effective 意为“有效的”，形容词；副词为 effectively；take effective action 采取有效措施；the most effective way 最有效的方式。
