从解题动作看,考点又可归为三条线索:代词线(they / it / this / these 指代前文的谁)、逻辑线(however / also / both / in fact / for example 提示的关系)、复现线(同一话题词的重复出现,如 crane—wetland—food)。
(Do you believe…? / How was your summer vacation?)
把 A—G 七句逐句读完,在每句旁标一个词:是“总起”(常含 This is because、For one、Firstly)、“承接”(常以 They / It / This 开头)、“转折”(However、But、In fact)、“举例”(For example、Such as)还是“总结”(In a word、So)。
逻辑线索:however 前后语义相反,also / both 前后语义并列,for example 前必有一句概括。
【点拨1】段末空要找“并列补充”,不是重复前文——以 Passage 1 题 5 为例:末段先写“the government has created protected areas in the river where fishing and pollution are controlled.”,讲的是政府层面的举措;空位后面没有句子,说明这一空要收束全段。正确项是“Public activities are also being conducted to educate people…”,also 一词点明“政府 + 公众”的并列结构。若选成“These porpoises and their habitat are important for the surrounding environment”,只是重复前文的重要性,没有推进保护措施这一话题。
【点拨2】Both of these 必须有两个先行项——以 Passage 2 题 2 为例:空位前一句是“In some years, Poyang Lake experiences floods, while in others, it experiences dry weather.”,一句话里并列了“洪水”与“干旱”两种情况。空位给出“Both of these cause the problem that there isn’t enough food for cranes.”,both 正好回指这两种天气,逻辑严丝合缝。这一空如果选“It’s important for us to do something to protect them”,虽然意思不错,却无法解释后文“鹤的食物不够”这一具体后果。
【点拨3】“Secondly”要有“Firstly”接住——以 Passage 3 题 2 为例:第三段写“Firstly, Wivenhoe is part of a university.”,紧接着是空位,因此空位必须以 Secondly 开头,构成并列。 Secondly:“its staff are all teachers”与“its staff are all teenagers”。此时不能靠结构定,要靠后文的复现词:“These young people are hoping to get jobs in the hotel or restaurant business.”
【点拨4】“this”必须能找到具体动作——以 Passage 4 题 4 为例:空位后一句是“They were doing this to tell chimpanzees nearby that they had found lots of fruit and wanted to share the food.”,其中 this 指代前面刚发生的动作。给出的正确项“Suddenly, some chimpanzees started shouting and hitting the trees with their hands.” 若选“They love each other and love sharing.”,这是情感概括而非动作,this 就悬空了。看到 this / that / so 开头或含 this 的后句,先问“this 指哪一件事”。
【点拨5】首空常是“总说 + 后文解释”——以 Passage 6 题 1 为例:第二段首句是空位,紧接其后的是“This is because pandas mostly eat bamboo, which is very poor in nutrition (营养) and difficult to take in.”,This is because 明确提示“空位是一个结论,后面给原因”。因此空位必须是一句“熊猫吃得很费时间”的结论句,即“For one, pandas have to spend more than half a day eating.”。
【点拨6】设问句后面必须跟答案——以 Passage 7 题 1 为例:首段写“During the Chinese New Year, people can watch colorful dragon dances on the street or on TV.”,然后是空位,空位后一句是“This is because people all over China show their hope for a happy life with this activity.”。This is because 要求前面必须有一个“为什么”式的提问,因此空位填“Why is the dragon dance so popular across China?”。这一空若填“Where can people usually enjoy the dragon dance?”,虽然也是疑问句,但 where 无法被 because 回答。设问句填空的关键是“疑问词要与后文的回答方式匹配”:because 答 why,by doing 答 how,in+地点答 where。
【点拨7】列举之后要有“总结句”收口——以 Passage 8 题 2 为例:第二段连续列举三种人类行为:“Every year, people build more houses, roads, and farms.”“Rivers and lakes are polluted by rubbish and chemicals…”“Also, some animals are hunted for their fur, meat, or body parts.”,空位在段末,需要一句把这些行为的总后果收住,即“These actions put wildlife in danger.”。These actions 回指前面三条,put…in danger 点出共同结果。若填“Wild animals are our friends on this planet.”,虽是正确的价值观,却接不住“列举—后果”的逻辑。段末有列举时,优先找含 these / such / all these 的总结句。
【点拨8】细节句要能“接住”具体数据——以 Passage 10 题 4 为例:空位前一句给出具体数据:“The giant house spider can move at half a metre in a second.”,空位应当是对这一数据的概括,即“They also move so fast”。 这一空若选“And spiders teach us how to make a perfect web”,虽然也在讲蜘蛛的本领,却与“速度”无关,属于话题偏移。
However、Also、Both、In fact
Passage 1
The Yangtze finless porpoise (长江江豚) is a great creature that lives in the Yangtze River in China. These animals are known for their playful behaviour and curious nature. 1
The Yangtze finless porpoise is an endangered species. There are only a few thousand left in the wild. 2 Efforts are being made to protect these porpoises and their habitat.
3 They eat a variety of fish and shrimp (虾), which they catch by using their sharp teeth. Their diet helps to keep the river ecosystem (生态系统) balanced. The Yangtze finless porpoise has a social nature They often swim in small groups and communicate with each other through clicks and whistles. 4
To help protect the Yangtze finless porpoise, the government has created protected areas in the river where fishing and pollution are controlled. 5
A.They are about the size of a small human and have a smooth, grey body without a dorsal fin.
B.They are threatened (威胁) by pollution, habitat loss, and fishing activities.
C.Fish and shrimp are becoming less and less because of the pollution.
D.Public activities are also being conducted to educate people about the importance of protecting this species.
E.Scientists are studying their communication patterns to learn more about their behaviour and social structure.
F.These porpoises are very intelligent and can use echolocation to find food and navigate.
G.These porpoises and their habitat are important for the surrounding environment.
Passage 2
When winter comes, cranes (鹤) migrate (迁徙) from northeast Siberia in Russia to Poyang Lake in Jiangxi Province, China. About 95% of the birds spend winter there. 1
In some years, Poyang Lake experiences floods, while in others, it experiences dry weather. 2
How to help deal with the problem? 3 In this way, they provide food during the winter for the cranes. The birds’ population has risen from about 3,000 to more than 5,000 over the past 10 years.
Over the years, China has worked hard to protect migratory birds. Recently, 1,140 places in the country have been taken as important breeding (繁殖) grounds, wintering grounds and migratory stops. 4 They play a key role in cleaning water, preventing floods, and keeping the balance of the environment.
5 The law sets rules to help manage wetlands. And it stops harmful activities, including giving out waste water.
A.Most of them are wetlands.
B.Their living spaces are becoming smaller and smaller.
C.However, climate change has had an effect on the birds’ living conditions.
D.It’s important for us to do something to protect them.
E.The local government has planted 70 hectares of lotus roots (莲藕) in Nanchang.
F.Both of these cause the problem that there isn’t enough food for cranes.
G.To protect wetlands, the Wetlands Protection Law was introduced on June 1st, 2022.
Passage 3
Wivenhoe House Hotel
Wivenhoe is a beautiful hotel in the countryside. 1 It is near the University of Essex in the Colchester area of England. It is also close to Colchester Castle Museum, Colchester Castle Park, the Beth Chatto Gardens, and the Colchester Zoo.
Wivenhoe is an unusual hotel. There is a big difference between Wivenhoe and other hotels. Firstly, Wivenhoe is part of a university. 2
3 These young people are hoping to get jobs in the hotel or restaurant business. The students learn by helping staff in a real hotel, while their teachers watch them carefully. The students do everything, from making beds and cleaning bathrooms to preparing menus and 4
Some British people may think that 5 However, many visitors just love the idea. They say that Wivenhoe is the best hotel they have ever stayed at.
A.Secondly, its staff (全体职工) are all teachers.
B.In fact, Wivenhoe is a hotel school for young people.
C.answering the telephone.
D.It has many rooms and an excellent restaurant.
E.Secondly, its staff are all teenagers.
F.a hotel run by students is a rather strange idea.
G.calling the hotel to book rooms.
Passage 4
Do you believe that chimpanzees (黑猩猩) are as clever as people? Well, they may not be able to read or write, but they can use tools and talk to each other using their own language.
1 They get a long piece of grass and put it into an ant nest (巢穴). Ants, not being as clever as chimpanzees, start to climb up the grass. 2
Chimpanzees also have feelings. “ 3 They are like humans in many ways,” says Dr Jane Goodall, a British scientist who has studied chimpanzees for over 40 years.
Dr Goodall has seen many examples of chimpanzees acting like people. One day, she was watching chimpanzees in the Gombe Forest of Tanzania. 4 They were doing this to tell chimpanzees nearby that they had found lots of fruit and wanted to share the food.
5 “When a chimpanzee’s friends are in danger, it’ll save them,” says Dr Goodall.
A.They usually use tools to eat ants.
B.They love each other and love sharing.
C.They like eating different kinds of food.
D.Chimpanzees run away when there’s danger.
E.Chimpanzees also look after each other when they are in danger.
F.When there are enough ants on the grass, the chimpanzees eat them.
G.Suddenly, some chimpanzees started shouting and hitting the trees with their hands.
Passage 5
How was your summer vacation? My family visited Everglades National Park in America this vacation. 1
On the first day, when we got to the park, it was getting dark. As we went down the road, I almost stepped (踩) on something! 2 We turned on our flashlights and we took a close look and found it was an alligator (短吻鳄). That was scary but interesting. There were quite a few alligators around. 3 She told us that we’d better turn off the flashlights so that we could see them more clearly.
On the second day, we saw another kind of interesting animal—dolphins (海豚). 4 They were kept in the pool dancing or playing games for people. But in Everglades National Park, we saw them swimming freely and happily in the river. Some of them jumped out of the water. 5 My youngest sister was so excited that she jumped up and down. After about five minutes, it seemed that they felt bored and swam away.
It was such an interesting trip that I would never forget it.
A.We wondered what it was.
B.We once saw them at the zoo.
C.Just at that time, a park worker walked by.
D.We all wanted to play with the alligator.
E.I enjoyed it because I saw wonderful wild animals up close.
F.We were too afraid to get close to the alligator.
G.Six dolphins even followed our ship as if they were racing us.
Passage 6
You are what you eat, as a saying goes. This is really true for the giant panda. What pandas eat has a big influence on many different parts of their lives.
1 This is because pandas mostly eat bamboo, which is very poor in nutrition (营养) and difficult to take in. Since 99% of a panda’s food is bamboo, pandas also have really small babies because of their food. Baby pandas are born helpless and tiny. 2 No other mammal’s (哺乳动物) babies are born so much smaller than their mother or father. Even so, baby pandas grow quickly. 3
The black and white fur of pandas may help them to hide (隐蔽). Once again, we can look at a panda’s food to help understand the reason. In winter, they can’t change their fur quickly enough to match their background like other animals can. 4
In the past, pandas lived in and traveled across large places and faced lots of predators (捕食者). So, their black and white fur was very important for them to keep safe.
5 The main danger to pandas is not from predators, but rather from less bamboo, more human activities and climate change. The good news is that pandas are no longer known as endangered (濒危的).
A.However, things are a little different today.
B.One-year-old pandas can be about 45kg heavy.
C.Pandas are still one of the endangered animals in the world.
D.They are just 140g, about 1/1000 the size of their mother.
E.For one, pandas have to spend more than half a day eating.
F.The baby pandas can’t see clearly at birth and sleep all day.
G.So being black and white helps them hide in both snow and the dark.
Passage 7
During the Chinese New Year, people can watch colorful dragon dances on the street or on TV. 1 This is because people all over China show their hope for a happy life with this activity.
In Chinese culture, dragons are respected (崇敬) and loved. In old times, people thought dragons were magical animals. They could make clouds, bring rain, stop disasters and bring happiness. 2 People also say dragons can scare evil (邪祟) and bad luck away.
The dragon dancers hold a cloth dragon. They follow a big dragon ball and make different moves. 3 Usually, 9 to 35 dancers use long poles (杆子) to control the dragon’s head and its long, snakelike body. One dancer often does cool tricks, like jumps and turns with the dragon.
4 It is usually in the evening. The Tai Hang Fire Dragon Dance in Hong Kong is very famous. It’s a folk art (民间艺术) with a history of more than 100 years. 5 Then villagers started to dance with a fire dragon for three days to drive away bad things. Now, every year around the Mid-Autumn Festival, they still do this dance to make their wishes come true.
Today, we can see dragon dances at many important times, such as holidays, festivals and the opening of new shops. These wonderful shows bring people wealth and good luck.
A.A special kind is the Fire Dragon Dance.
B.The Cloth Dragon Dance has a long history.
C.It is said that a disease (疾病) swept through the village a long time ago.
D.Why is the dragon dance so popular across China?
E.Where can people usually enjoy the dragon dance?
F.Now they still represent (代表) wisdom, power, and richness.
G.Dragon dancers have to work as a team to make the dragon come to life.
Passage 8
Wildlife in Our World
Wild animals live in forests, grasslands, deserts, mountains, and other natural places. They include mammals, birds, insects, reptiles, and many more. 1 It helps keep nature’s balance, pollinate (授粉) plants, and control pests. Without wildlife, life on Earth would be very different.
Every year, people build more houses, roads, and farms. This means many wild animals lose their homes. Rivers and lakes are polluted by rubbish and chemicals, which harm fish and other living things. Also, some animals are hunted for their fur, meat, or body parts. 2
Some species (物种) are now in danger—very few survive in the wild. 3 If we do not act, we might lose them forever. What can we do to protect wildlife? First, we should stop destroying forests and natural places. 4 Second, we can use less plastic, recycle, and avoid harmful chemicals. Third, we must obey laws that stop hunting and protect areas like national parks and wildlife reserves.
Communities, schools, and governments can work together to build safe places for animals. Young people can spread awareness by sharing stories, making posters, or organizing events. 5
If we protect wildlife, we also protect ourselves. Healthy ecosystems bring clean air and water, better food, and a richer life. Let us all work together to save animals and nature for future generations.
A.Every little action helps.
B.These actions put wildlife in danger.
C.Wild animals are our friends on this planet.
D.Wildlife plays an important role in our world.
E.Planting trees and restoring grasslands is helpful.
F.For example, certain big cats, elephants, and turtles face danger.
G.Sometimes, people see wild animals up close in zoos or national parks.
Passage 9
Red-crowned cranes are one of the rarest birds in the world. They mainly live in wetlands in China and other Asian countries. However, their habitats (栖息地) are getting smaller because of human activities like farming on wetland and building houses. 1 Luckily, new technology is helping to protect these beautiful birds.
Scientists in Jiangsu Province have put small GPS trackers on 20 red-crowned cranes. 2 They are light and won’t hurt the cranes. They can record the birds’ flying routes, resting places, and feeding areas. The information is sent to computers, allowing scientists to learn more about the cranes’ living habits. 3 For example, they found that the cranes travel over 1,000 kilometers every year to spend winter in warmer places.
Another technology used is drone monitoring. Drones can fly high over wetlands and take clear photos of the cranes without disturbing them or making them scared. This helps scientists count the number of cranes and check if they are healthy. 4 Local governments have also built more nature reserves to provide safe habitats for the cranes to live in.
Thanks to these efforts, the number of red-crowned cranes in China has increased from 1,000 to 1,600 in the past 10 years. 5 “Technology is a powerful tool for wildlife protection,” said a scientist. “We will keep on using it to save more endangered animals like red-crowned cranes.”
A.This makes it hard for red-crowned cranes to find food and homes.
B.Many people like red-crowned cranes because of their beautiful feathers.
C.These small machines are very useful for studying the birds’ lives.
D.Scientists also teach local people how to protect cranes in daily life.
E.The increase shows that the protection work is really working.
F.They have got a lot of valuable information from the trackers.
G.Some cranes even start to live in the new nature reserves happily.
Passage 10
Whether you love them or hate them, there’s no doubt that spiders are amazing animals. In a 2017 study, scientists showed that some people are born with a fear of them. 1 . So what do you think? Should people learn to love spiders?
Yes—spiders are helpful to humans.
The truth is, spiders work for humans to clear our homes and gardens of all the pests (害虫). Spiders are considered to be the friends to gardeners. 2 .
Spiders are amazing animals. They have many talents, including making silk from their bodies, which is among the strongest and most flexible (柔韧的) natural materials on Earth. 3 . In fact, they usually try to get away from people or hide. Spiders are an important part of the ecosystem (生态系统), so people should learn to love them if humans want to protect the environment.
No—people fear spiders for good reasons.
With their many eyes and eight legs, spiders look scary. 4 . The giant house spider can move at half a metre in a second. Without even knowing them, they may have climbed up your leg. It’s no wonder so many people are scared of spiders, and maybe it’s wise to feel fear.
5 . So we should learn to protect spiders instead of doing harm to them. They are also our friends. But not all spiders are harmless to humans, so you still have to be careful not to get bitten by a spider.
A.They also move so fast
B.However, others think they are amazing
C.Some small spiders are liked by some children
D.And spiders teach us how to make a perfect web
E.In a word, spiders play an important role in nature
F.This is because they eat lots of pests that harm plants
G.Spiders may look strange, but they don’t want to harm humans

1.A 2.C 3.F 4.D 5.E
根据前文“However, their habitats (栖息地) are getting smaller because of human activities like farming on wetland and building houses.” 故选A。
2.根据前文“Scientists in Jiangsu Province have put small GPS trackers on 20 red-crowned cranes.”和后文“They are light and won’t hurt the cranes.”
3.根据前文“The information is sent to computers, allowing scientists to learn more about the cranes’ living habits.”和后文“For example, they found that the cranes travel over 1,000 kilometers every year to spend winter in warmer places.”
4.根据前文“Drones can...take clear photos of the cranes...helps scientists count the number of cranes and check if they are healthy.”和后文“Local governments have also built more nature reserves to provide safe habitats for the cranes to live in..”
5.根据前文“Thanks to these efforts, the number of red-crowned cranes in China has increased from 1,000 to 1,600 in the past 10 years.”
