Everyone has their own way to spend pocket money. As for me, I divide my pocket money into four parts.
Forty percent goes to my study so that I can buy stationery and useful books. Twenty percent is for snacks, although I know too many snacks are bad for me. Another twenty percent is used for small gifts for my friends when we hang out. The rest 20% I will save or donate, so that I can help people in need.

A new kind of transport will be with us in the next few years — flying taxis. Many of us grew up watching sci-fi movies with flying taxis. They are now becoming a science fact.
The Japanese airline ANA teamed up with a US tech start-up called Joby Aviation. The two companies planned to start making flying taxis at the 2025 World Expo in Osaka. They spent years working together on building the flying taxi. They also worked out what traffic rules the taxis would need to follow, and what kind of training flying taxi pilots would need. The five-seat, all-electric taxi is able to take off and land freely. It flies about 300 kilometers an hour.
Joby’s CEO said the taxis would be good for the environment. He told reporters, “Joby helps people save time while cutting down their carbon footprint. Japan offers us a good chance to do that with 92% of the population living in cities, and Tokyo being one of the top 20 busiest cities in the world.” The president of ANA was also excited about the project. Last month, I bought a second-hand bike on an online second-hand trading platform. I found one that looked perfect online, and the seller said it was seldom used with no big problems. When meeting, I saw small scratches (划痕), and during a test ride, I noticed that the parts for stopping didn’t work properly. The seller said it was easy to fix, so I bought it because of the price and nice look.
On the way home, I had it repaired, which cost money, making me realize second-hand items might not save money as much as I think. The experience was mixed: positives included low price, unique design praised by friends, a sense of achievement in making it work again, and environmentally-friendly; negatives were quality problems and extra costs. I learned to research, check carefully, and prepare for problems when buying second-hand things.
But I still think it’s worth buying. The bike, now smooth to ride, has become my daily friend. It teaches me to balance cost and quality, and value things with a little history — each scratch tells a story, making it more special than a completely new one.
28. Where did the writer buy a second-hand bike?
29. What problems did the writer find about the bike?
30. What did the writer do on his way home?
31. What made the writer feel the second-hand bike was worth buying?
