Cultural treasures are like windows to the past. They help us understand how people lived hundreds of years ago. But many of these old objects are very fragile. They can be easily harmed by weather, time, or even small accidents.
Thanks to modern technology, we have powerful new ways to protect our history. One key method is 3D scanning (扫描). With special cameras, it records every shape and color of an object, creating a detailed 3D model. ▲ A famous statue there lost its head a century ago. Scientists studied old photos to create a 3D model of the head. As a result, a full-size copy was printed and put back where it was for visitors to see. Today, more than 50 museums in China are using similar technology. Some are printing copies of old statues so that school students can hold them and learn from them safely. Other museums are using the same idea to repair broken pieces of ancient walls and pottery.
Technology is also changing how we visit museums. With Virtual Reality (VR), people can now “walk” inside ancient places like the Dunhuang caves from their own home. This makes history feel much closer and more real. The number of online museum visitors has grown by about 60% in the past two years.
Of course, using new technology is not cheap. Some people also ask if a copy can be as meaningful as the real thing. However, losing these treasures to time is a much bigger problem. As one museum director said, “We must use every tool we have to save our past for the future.”
26. What does the underlined word “fragile” mean in Paragraph 1?
A. Hard to find. B. Easy to break. C. Hard to make. D. Easy to repair.
27. Which of the following can be put in “ ▲ ” in Paragraph 2?
A. One example was at the Longmen Grottoes (石窟).
B. Most cameras are helpful but very expensive.
C. VR is also a useful tool for modern museums.
D. Few experts can use 3D scanning technology.
28. How do some museums help school students learn from old objects?
A. By selling copies of them.
B. By keeping them in locked rooms.
C. By inviting students to repair them.
D. By printing copies that students can hold.
29. What does the writer think of using new technology to protect cultural treasures?
A. He doesn’t care about it.
B. He is worried about it.
C. He thinks it is a good idea.
D. He is not sure about it.
30. What is the best title for the passage?
A. VR: A New Way for Cultural Treasures
B. Art: A New Look for Cultural Treasures
C. History: A New Lesson for Cultural Treasures
D. Technology: A Helpful Tool for Cultural Treasures

Li Hao, a 14-year-old boy, is a student at Guangming Middle School in Guangzhou. Last month, he won the title of “Guangdong Good Teenager” for his kindness and hard work.
Li Hao’s love for volunteering started at home. When he was young, his mother often took him to a local old people’s home to visit the elderly. They read newspapers to the old people and helped them clean their rooms. Seeing their happy smiles made Li Hao understand that helping others brings true happiness.
Every Saturday morning, Li Hao goes to the city library, where he reads picture books to young children and teaches them how to make paper animals. He has also set up a “Reading Corner” in his neighbourhood, because he believes that every child should have books to read, no matter where he or she lives. He collects used books from his classmates and neighbors, and sends them to children in mountain villages far away. So far, more than 800 books have been sent to three village schools.
Li Hao is not only warm-hearted but also excellent in his studies. He is good at science and has won several prizes in robot competitions. When his classmates meet difficulties in maths, he is always ready to explain the problems patiently until they understand.
