The ____2____ in the town was small too — only about two thousand people lived there. His family stayed with a host family, and he shared a room with the son, Mingming.
Mingming was ____3____. He was always singing, telling jokes and talking to everyone in the yard. Teng Fei, on the other hand, said very little during the first two days.
On the third morning, Mingming took Teng Fei to a bamboo forest. It was a ____4____ morning: the air was cool and soft, and birds were singing high above. Teng Fei had seen bamboo in photos, but the real forest was different — they were as tall as buildings. “Bamboo looks like a tree, ____5____ in fact it is a kind of grass.” Mingming said. “New shoots ____6____ from the ground every spring.” Before they left, Teng Fei read a notice: “Please ____7____ the bamboo forests.” Mingming told Teng Fei that people should take care of the forest because it was home to many animals and plants.
On the way back, they visited Mingming’s grandma’s garden. Flowers grew everywhere, and bees flew from flower to flower. “It looks beautiful, ____8____ after a warm rain,” Grandma said. “The bees do the most important work. ____9____ them, we would have fewer flowers next year.”
That evening, the family cooked dinner in the yard. They had a party. Mingming ____10____ an old song at the party.

【1题详解】
句意:小镇很安静,周围的风景像画一样:青山,高高的竹子和一条河。

【2题详解】
句意:镇上的人口也很少——大约只有两千人住在那里。
根据“only about two thousand people lived there”,可知此处是介绍人口数量。population“人口”符合语境,hotel“旅馆”、bedroom“卧室”、planet“行星”不合逻辑。
【3题详解】
句意:明明性格外向。
根据“always singing, telling jokes and talking to everyone in the yard”,可知他性格外向。

根据“New shoots”和“from the ground every spring”,可知竹笋从土里出现。appear“出现”符合语境,arrive“到达”、cover“覆盖”、store“储存”搭配不当。
【7题详解】
句意:请保护竹林。

People around the world love giant pandas for their cute black-and-white look. But there is more to know about them: they have special living habits, and their life is not easy.
Bamboo makes up almost all of a panda’s food. Since bamboo does not give much energy, an adult panda has to spend up to sixteen hours a day eating, and it may eat as much as 38 kilos of bamboo. So when a panda rests after a big meal, it is not being lazy—it is saving energy.
Newborn pandas are hard to imagine: a baby is pink and blind, and weighs only about 100 grams—smaller than an adult’s hand. It cannot live without its mother, who holds it day and night in its first few weeks.
The number of pandas once dropped quickly because humans cut down the bamboo forests where they lived. Later, China took action: workers planted bamboo trees and set up nature reserves (保护区), and in 2021 the country even started a Giant Panda National Park across Sichuan, Shaanxi and Gansu. Thanks to this work, there are now nearly 1,900 pandas living in the wild. In 2016, scientists agreed that pandas were no longer endangered (濒危). But they are vulnerable. A long dry season may pull their numbers down again. Also, pandas’ homes are cut into small areas by roads and farmland. Pandas can hardly move between these areas to find food, so the work of protecting them is far from finished.
16. Why do adult pandas spend so much time eating every day?
A. Because they get hungry easily.
B. Because they only rest in nature reserves.
C. Because bamboo gives them little energy.
D. Because they have finished protecting their babies.
17. What can we know about a newborn panda?
A. It weighs about 38 kilos.
B. It cannot see and is very small.
C. It lives with both of its parents.
D. It is black and white like its parents.
18. What does “vulnerable” in the last paragraph mean?
A. easy to be broken or hurt
B. easy to become fewer without protection
C. easy to get hurt in feelings
D. easy to be weak and likely to get sick
19. What can we learn from the last paragraph?
A. The number of wild pandas keeps growing quickly.
B. Scientists believe the protection work has finished.
C. The number of wild pandas is dropping fast again.
D. Pandas still face problems with broken living areas.
20. Why does the writer write this passage?
A. To ask people to keep protecting pandas.
B. To show that the danger is over for pandas.
C. To describe how a mother raises her baby.
D. To introduce the history of nature reserves.
【答案】16. C 17. B 18. B 19. D 20. A
【解析】
【导语】本 文是一篇说明文,文章介绍了大熊猫的生活习性、幼崽特点及保护现状,指出虽然数量有所恢复,但保护工作仍未结束。
【16题详解】
细节理解题。第二段提到“Since bamboo does not give much energy, an adult panda has to spend up to sixteen hours a day eating”,说明是因为竹子提供的能量很少,所以成年熊猫每天需要花费大量时间进食。
【17题详解】
细节理解题。第三段提到“a baby is pink and blind, and weighs only about 100 grams”,说明新生熊猫看不见东西且体重很轻,体型非常小。
【18题详解】
词句猜测题。最后一段提到“But they are vulnerable. A long dry season may pull their numbers down again.”,可推知该词在文中指熊猫数量容易再次下降,即在没有保护的情况下容易变少。
【19题详解】
细节理解题。最后一段提到“pandas’ homes are cut into small areas by roads and farmland”,可推知熊猫的栖息地被道路和农田分割成小块,仍面临生存区域破碎的问题。
【20题详解】
主旨大意题。最后一段提到“so the work of protecting them is far from finished.”及全文内容可推知,作者写作目的是呼吁人们继续保护大熊猫。
C
When Yang Fan’s family moved to a new city last autumn, she made a careful plan. She wrote down everything she would do to make friends: join three clubs, talk to one new classmate every day, and always smile first. “Friendship is like a plant,” she told herself. “If you water it every day, it will grow.”
For two months, Yang Fan followed her plan perfectly. She joined the art club, the English corner and the reading group. She said hello to different classmates and smiled until her face hurt. But things didn’t work out. Classmates were polite, but nobody invited her to sit with them at lunch or walk home together. Yang Fan began to wonder what was wrong with her.
The turning point came on a rainy afternoon. She forgot her umbrella and stood at the school gate, worrying. Then a short girl from her art club, Duoduo, appeared beside her and shared her umbrella without saying much. They walked home slowly, talking about the paintings they both loved. On the way, Yang Fan realized something surprising: Duoduo had never “tried” to make friends with anyone. She just did small, kind things naturally, and people liked being around her.
That evening, Yang Fan threw her plan into the drawer. She stopped counting how many people she talked to each day. Instead, she began to pay attention to others — remembering a classmate’s sick dog, saving a seat, sharing her snacks. Slowly, her lunch table got fuller.
Looking back, Yang Fan smiles at her old list. “I thought friendship was something you could plan and finish, like homework,” she says. “But it isn’t a task. It grows quietly, in small warm moments, when you truly care about someone.”
21. What did Yang Fan do to make friends at first?
A. She did small kind things naturally.
B. She invited classmates to lunch every day.
C. She made a plan and followed it all the time.
D. She shared her umbrella with classmates.
22. Why did Yang Fan begin to question herself?
A. She could not join any clubs.
B. She lost her umbrella on a rainy afternoon.
C. Her classmates were not polite.
D. Her classmates didn’t ask her to join them.
23. Why does the writer describe the story on the rainy afternoon?
A. To show that Yang Fan often forgot things.
B. To explain how Duoduo planned to make friends.
C. To tell readers to bring umbrellas in rainy seasons.
D. To mark when Yang Fan’s opinion began to change.
24. What does the underlined sentence in paragraph 4 show?
A. Yang Fan had more friends. B. Yang Fan brought more food.
C. The table was not big enough. D. The lunch was nicer than before.
25. What does Yang Fan probably agree with now?
A. Making friends needs a smart plan more than anything else.
B. A friendship grows from real care not from a list of actions.
C. It is difficult for shy students to make friends in a new school.
D. Smiling at people every day is the quickest way to win friends.
【答案】21. C 22. D 23. D 24. A 25. B

D
阅读下面文本,从文本后的选项中选出能填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有一项为多余选项。
Look around your classroom. Some students put up their hands before the teacher finishes a question; others need another minute to think. Some laugh loudly at every joke; others smile and say nothing. Forty students can mean forty different personalities.
Different people bring different things, and a class needs them all. Take Wang Lei and Xu Mei as an example. ____26____ Wang Lei can start a game with a new person in thirty seconds. Xu Mei notices the classmate sitting alone at lunch and remembers what he likes. When a new student came from another city last month, Wang Lei had him laughing on the first afternoon, and Xu Mei found that he could draw well and took him to the art club. “I felt at home in a week,” the new boy said.
____27____ A careful student may find a mistake in the plan before anyone starts, while a quick-thinking student may think of an idea before anyone else. ____28____ A group with both kinds of people usually works better than any one member alone.
The best thing about a difference is not to fight it, but to learn from it. You do not have to become someone else. But you can learn small habits from people who are different from you. A shy student can practise saying one thing in group work. A student who talks a lot can practise listening to the end before answering. ____29____
Differences may bring trouble. They take time, and sometimes they make people unhappy. ____30____ So we should value these differences.
A. The same thing happens in group work.
B. They do almost everything in different ways.
C. Each of them needs the other to finish the job.
D. But what we get is far more than what we think.
E. A careful student is always better than a fast one.
F. These small habits slowly change how a class works.
【答案】26. B 27. A 28. C 29. F 30. D

A
阅读下面文本,完成下面小题。
Every holiday, Wang Yue’s classmates talk about planes and cities far away. Her family never goes far. For three years, they have spent every holiday in their own city. Wang Yue calls it “near holiday”. She says these are the best days of her year. They have three habits for the holiday.
Their first habit began with a map. Her father bought an old city map in a small shop. “Let’s walk the streets we have never walked,” he said. They walked in the old part of the city. People dry fish in the sun there. An old man makes old clocks work again, too. Wang Yue walked along that street many times before, but she never walked into it.
Their second habit is to go out early. Museums, markets and parks are quiet and beautiful at eight in the morning. At the fish market, Wang Yue learned a lot about the river in one hour. At the city museum, an old man showed her an old picture and told her its story. She could not find the story in any book.
The third habit costs nothing. You just need to ask questions. “Why is this street so quiet in the morning?” “Who built this old house?” Most people are glad to answer, and every answer opens another door.
Wang Yue is not saying long trips are bad. She is saying something easier: a good holiday does not have to be far away. It is not about how far you go. It is about how much you notice. “You do not need to leave the city to see new things,” she says. “You need to keep your eyes open.”
根据短文内容回答问题。
41. Why does Wang Yue call their holiday “near holiday”?

42. Which will you choose for your next holiday, a “near holiday” or a “faraway holiday”? Why?

【解析】
【导语】本文主要讲述了王悦一家假期不去远方,而是在自己城市度过“附近假期”的三个习惯及其意义。
【41题详解】
根据文章第一段“For three years, they have spent every holiday in their own city.”可推知王悦称其为“附近假期”是因为他们一直在本市度假。
【42题详解】
根据文章第五段“It is about how much you notice.”可推知选择“附近假期”能让人更多地关注周围事物,答案不唯一,言之有理即可。
【43题详解】
①原文第一段“Her family never goes far. For three years, they have spent every holiday in their own city”,表达在本市度假、而不是远行,instead of意为“而不是”,后接动名词,因此填instead of。
②原文第一段“They have three habits for the holiday”,说明他们保持三个假期习惯,three后用复数habits,因此填habits。
③原文第三段“Their second habit is to go out early. Museums, markets and parks are quiet and beautiful at eight in the morning”,对应去这些场所,和exploring并列,使用动名词,因此填visiting places。
④原文第四段“The third habit costs nothing. You just need to ask questions”,第三个习惯是提问,和前面动名词并列,因此填asking questions。

阅读下面文本,完成下面小题。
Every spring, millions of birds fly north to spend the summer in cooler places. Some of them travel thousands of kilometres without a map, without a compass (指南针) and even without a rest stop.
How do they know the way? Scientists have found several answers. Some birds use the sun. They can tell the time of day from where the sun is, so they always know which direction is north. Other birds use the stars. Young birds learn the night sky from their parents and remember groups of stars. Scientists also found something even more surprising: many birds can feel the earth’s magnetic field (磁场), which works like a small compass inside their bodies.
Birds also need energy to finish such a long trip. Before they leave, they eat a lot and become much heavier. Some small birds almost double their weight. During the flight, they fly in a V shape, and this makes flying easier. The bird at the front does the hardest work, and the others take turns. This simple habit saves a lot of energy.
Now, however, birds face new problems. Tall buildings and bright city lights make them lose their way at night, and many of them die. Wetlands where they rest have been turned into farms and roads. So they have fewer wetlands to rest. Their long journey is becoming more dangerous.
Birds are the world’s greatest travellers. If we want to keep watching them cross the sky, we need to make their journey safer.
44. 根据短文内容完成表格。右栏用短语作答,每空不超过20词。

Dear Club Members,
I’m glad to hear that the club is making Chinese fans as gifts for the foreign exchange students. I’d like to share my idea for the fan design.
I plan to paint bamboo on the fan. In Chinese culture, bamboo is a symbol of strength and honesty. It grows straight and stays green all year round. Even in cold winter, it never gives up. I choose it because it shows the spirit of Chinese people. This gift carries my best wishes for the exchange students. I hope they can be brave and healthy like bamboo. Also, I wish them a wonderful time. I believe they will love it.

D

By noon the room looked ____34____ (bad) than before, because everything was on the floor. But nobody was angry. We sat down among the boxes and began to talk. In a bag we found the ____35____ (old) photo in the house—my grandparents from forty years ago. My grandma looked at it ____36____ (careful), and I noticed something shining in her eyes.
____37____ the work was hard, I didn’t feel tired. Later that day, we ____38____ (carry) the last box back to its place. We stood at the door: the room was not bigger, but it felt warm. Before dinner, we filled three bags ____39____ old clothes and left them by the door for the children’s home.
The toy horse is on my grandma’s desk now. “I keep it ____40____ (remember) your father as a boy,” she says. “Old boxes can go, but the stories inside them never leave.” I think she is right. That Saturday I did not only clean a room—I found our family again.

Why?
