Do you have some friends to call when you have exciting news to share? Or the ones who notice you when you' re feeling down? Those are your close(亲近的)friends. Not every friend you have is a close friend, but that's okay.
Studies show that most people can have only a few close friends because of limited(有限的) time and energy. Psychologist(心理学家) Robin Dunbar says that most people have around five close friends. Another study by Suzanne Degges-White finds that having three to six close friends makes people happiest. It also finds that having more than six close friends doesn't make people feel much happier.
But friendships aren't just about closeness. According to a study by Jan Yager, you might have 25 or more common friends, like classmates, neighbours, or other people you know from everyday life. No one can meet all your needs, so having different kinds of friends helps in many ways. They can take some worries off you and give a safety net when you lose important friends. What's more, they can also come up with new ideas, and some may surprise you.
There are no exact rules on how many close or common friends you should have, so don't worry if you have more or fewer friends. Some people have more than ten close friends, while others are happy with just one or two. What matters most is how you feel. If you' re happy with your friendships, then you have enough. Just follow your heart.
24. Why do most people just need a few close friends?
A. Because their time and energy are limited.
B. Because they hate keeping close friendships.
C. Because common friends bring more happiness.
25. What does Suzanne Degges-White's study find?
A. Over six close friends make people much. happier.
B. Three to six close friends make people happiest.
C. Most people ha ye about five close friends.
26. What can we know from the passage?
A. We must have many close friends to feel happy.
B. Having common friends always means less happiness.
C. It is fine to have different numbers of close friends.
27. What is the main idea of the passage?
A. We should make as many friends as we can.
B. Friendships are different and our feelings matter most.
C. Close friends are always better than common friends.

Nowadays, human-like robots have surprising abilities in sports. They are running faster and jumping higher than the world's top sports players.
At the 2nd World Human-like Robot Games, robots set several new records for human sports. Usain Bolt is a great runner from Jamaica(牙买加). People call him“LightningBolt”. He set the men's 100-metre world record in 2009 and nobody has broken the record so far. However, one robot ran faster than Usain Bolt in the 100-metre race on the first day, finishing the race in 9.39 seconds(秒). It was 0.19 seconds quicker than this great runner. Another robot from the same team could jump higher than humans in the standing high-jump game. It jumped 2.88 metres high, beating Javier Sotomayor's 2.45-metre record.
But you are wrong if you think robots can only take part in sports games. This year, robots also work in many different places, such as restaurants, hotels and people's homes. Robots can do many jobs. They clean rooms, help people in danger and put library books in order. People use robots to finish dull, dirty and dangerous work. For example, in a restaurant, robots need to put food into a small bowl, bring it to the customers and then do the dishes.
Now China makes more human-like robots than many other countries. But we still need to wait for some time before we can use them in our daily life. Wang Xingxing, who starts Unitree Robotics, says robot builders still meet lots of problems. For example, robots work badly when the situations change around them.
However, Wang thinks robots will soon have a big new change just like ChatGPT. “We call it the ‘ChatGPT moment’ of robotics. This big change may come in two or three years. If not, it will surely come in ten years,” he says with great hope.
28. How long did it take Usain Bolt to finish the 100-metre race in 2009?
