3. 语言小贴士（考点归纳）。

① 过去进行时表示过去某一时刻或某一阶段正在进行的动作，强调动作的“正在进行”。

② 基本构成：主语 + was／were + v-ing + 其他。

③ be 动词选择：单数主语（I, he, she, it）用 was；复数主语（we, you, they）用 were。

④ 常见时间状语：then, at that time, at this time yesterday, at nine last night, the whole morning, from...to..., at that moment 等。

⑤ 常与 when／while／as 引导的时间状语从句连用，用来交代动作发生的背景。

⑥ 动词 -ing 变化：一般直接加 -ing（read→reading）；以不发音 e 结尾去 e 加 -ing（write→writing）；重读闭音节双写末尾辅音加 -ing（run→running）；以 ie 结尾变 ie 为 y 加 -ing（lie→lying）。

⑦ 否定句：主语 + was／were + not + v-ing；一般疑问句：Was／Were + 主语 + v-ing？
