I am Tim. This term, my school started a special activity called “Small Library”. Each class got a small wooden bookshelf at the back of the classroom, and every student needed to bring 2~3 books from home to share with classmates. The books could be storybooks, science books, or even picture books for little kids.
Our class teacher Ms. Li made a simple rule: if you want to borrow a book, you just need to write your name on a small notebook next to the shelf. You can keep the book for at most two weeks, and you must put it back on time so that other students can read it too. We also held a “Book Corner Talk” every Friday afternoon. At that time, 3~4 students would stand in front of the class and share what they learned from the book they read.
At first, some students worried that their books would get broken or lost. But two months later, all the books were in good condition. Many students now finish reading at least one extra book every week. I even found a book about stars that I loved so much, and it was from the quiet boy. He sat at the corner of our classroom. I never talked to him much before, but now we often talk about the science books we both like. We have become good friends.
This small library does not cost much money, but it brings us a lot of surprises. It not only makes our after-school time more colorful, but also helps us make new friends with people we have never talked to before.
19.What did students do at the “Book Corner Talk” every Friday afternoon?
A.They borrowed books from the shelf.
B.They brought new books to share.
C.They shared what they learned from the books they read.
D.They cleaned the bookshelf together.
20.What was some students’ worry at first?
A.They would have no time to read. B.The books would get broken or lost.
C.The books were too difficult to understand. D.No one would like to share books.
21.Why did Tim tell his experience with the quiet boy?
A.To show the quiet boy was friendly.
B.To show the activity helped students make new friends.
C.To show he loves science books.
D.To tell us he didn’t like the book about stars.
22.How does Tim like the “Small Library” activity?
A.It is a waste of time. B.It costs too much money.
C.It is very helpful. D.It is boring.

①When you’re trying to make friends, you’ll probably meet someone who just doesn’t like you, though you’ve never done anything to him or her. Well, what should you do? Here’s some advice.
②Gossip (流言蜚语) can make meeting new people difficult, especially when people hear something bad about you. It can prevent someone from getting to know you at all. When you’re in a situation like this, it feels bad. Instead of trying to win them over (说服), however, just be yourself. As time goes by, they will see that the gossip about you is wrong. Or they may choose to believe it. Don’t worry about it and move on by being friendly to the kind people.
③You’d think that your friend’s friends would also become your friends. But it doesn’t work that way. Sometimes people are happy with the friendships they have, and they aren’t interested in adding any more. If someone chooses not to be friends with you just because you’re new to the group, it’s fine. There’s nothing wrong with you or them.
④An even more difficult situation is when someone has met you and just doesn’t like you. Every joke you make is taken the wrong way. Every time you try to do something nice, they find fault (找茬儿). As much as it hurts, accept that not everyone is going to be your friend. Don’t take it personally. These things could happen to everyone. There are just some people you won’t like.
⑤In a word, if someone doesn’t want to be your friend, that’s okay. Don’t get angry with them because it’s their choice. Instead, give your time and attention to the people that are interested in being with you.
23.If people choose to believe the gossip about you, you should ________.
A.try to win them over B.let them know the truth
C.not worry about it and move on D.find out where the gossip comes from
24.Why don’t your friend’s friends want to be your friends sometimes?
A.Because they think it’s a waste of time making new friends.
B.Because they aren’t interested in adding any more.
C.Because they worry that a new friend will influence their old friendship.
D.Because they share no common interests with new friends.
25.Which is the best way to divide (分割) the passage?
A.①//②③④//⑤ B.①//②③//④⑤ C.①//②③④⑤ D.①②//③④//⑤
26.The passage mainly wants to tell us ________.
A.how to make new friends B.how to have a talk with others
C.how to be popular among friends D.what to do when you’re not liked by others
D
A guide dog (导盲犬) is a special kind of dog. It helps blind (失明的) people walk safely in the street, take a bus, or do shopping. For a blind person, a guide dog is not just a pet. It is a pair of eyes.

When they are about one year old, they go to a special school. There they learn many skills, such as stopping at the crossing, keeping away from danger and finding the way. The training usually takes about six to ten months.
A guide dog works for about eight to ten years. When it becomes too old to work, it can live with a family as an ordinary pet.
Having a guide dog is not easy for the owner. He or she must take good care of it and keep it healthy. The two must spend a lot of time together to understand each other.
In many cities, guide dogs are allowed to get on buses and trains. When you see one at work, please don’t touch it or give it food. That may put its owner in danger.

A.The dog helps the owner “see” the world.

28.When do puppies begin their training at a special school?
A.When they are only a few weeks old.
B.When they are about one year old.
C.When they are three years old.
D.When they are too old to work.
29.What should you do when you see a guide dog at work?
A.Touch it and say hello to it. B.Give it some food.
C.Keep away from it and let it work. D.Play with it for a while.
30.What is the passage mainly about?
A.How to look after a pet dog at home.

根据后文“It is where they live and raise their children”可知,北极熊“待在”冰上生活,应用staying on the ice。
work out“解决”、come out“出现”、take out“取出”均不符合探究事实的语境。
根据前文“the scientists from Canada”可知,此处指“科学家”们,应用scientists。
根据下文“lost about one kilogram each day”可知,失去的是“体重”,应用weight。
At birth“出生时”、At first“起初”、As a result“因此”均不符合。
when、where、how均为副词,不能作do的宾语。

因为句中有since2010,是现在完成时标志,主语为People,所以用have printed,选择have printed。
根据后面scans the code,a后面接单数名词,所以选择machine。

provide sb. with sth.,动词后用人称代词宾格,所以填us。

My favourite animal
My favourite animal is the panda.
I like pandas because they look really cute and they are a symbol of China. Pandas are black and white. Adult pandas are quite heavy, about 100 kilograms. They love eating bamboo very much, and they eat lots of bamboo every day. To live with pandas in peace, we should protect their homes.
