B There was always a part of me that I wanted to disappear. I wanted to remove it and wash my hands clean. But it’s stuck. Stuck in my brain, stuck in my name, stuck on my skin. Being Pakistani (巴基斯坦人), I am lucky to have thick hair and sun-kissed skin. At school, I was made fun of for my skin color and different culture. Even my grandmother suggested: “bathe in milk to become fair.” I wanted to simply fit in with my friends. Growing up in America was hard as a person of color. It was easier to be accepted if my appearance matched “American” culture. At fifteen, everything changed at a family wedding. I was only a watcher before; this time I saw what happened behind the scenes (场面). I was unsure, but being around excited Pakistanis made me curious. After a week of wedding celebrations, I took time to understand our traditions. My grandparents taught me about many different events, and I tried biryani (手抓饭) for the first time. I began to love the beautiful, colorful dresses and the planned dances. By the end of the week, I learned culture goes deeper than looks. I began to look at myself with pride and love, accepting my identity as a Pakistani-American. Once I accepted the part of myself Ialways wished would disappear, and I learned how to live with both American and Pakistani influences. College offered a new beginning. Wanting to find a group that celebrated being Pakistani led me to join the Pakistani Students Association. My favorite part of the club is the differences among the same group of people. I got to explore parts of Pakistani culture I didn’t know before. My way of thinking changed from erasing the culture I was born into to celebrating Pakistani culture filled with color and spice (香料), beauty and love. I have learned that we must celebrate our different cultures and identities. I am no longer a girl who refuses to accept, I am a girl who works hard to celebrate. 24. How did the author feel as a child? A. She enjoyed being different. B. She was proud of Pakistani customs. C. She was eager to have Pakistani friends. D. She wished to change her appearance. 25. Why did the grandmother suggest bathing in milk? A. To follow Pakistani traditions. B. To meet American beauty standards. C. To protect the author from bullying D. To improve the author’s skin health. 26. What caused the author’s attitude change? A. Attending college. B. Joining a school club. C. Getting close to her culture. D. Moving away from her family. 27. What can we learn from the author’s story? A. Hard work will pay off one day. B. Fitting in matters more than heritage. C. Cultural traditions are always attractive. D. Identity acceptance brings personal growth. C The characteristic (特征) of shyness is to feel frightened and nervous in new social situations or when being the center of attention. Whether shyness is part of your children’s personality or just something they feel when they are in front of a group of strangers, it is a common experience, according to a study. For children at this age, shyness may be a quite common and normal experience when they face a speech task. For a smaller group of shy children, however, being the center of attention may be stressful at different times and environments. A shy temperament isn’t always valued by society like an outgoing personality, but that doesn’t mean there is something wrong. Everyone can feel shy at times depending on the environment. And those who are particularly shy often have happy social lives—they just aren’t likely to be the liveliest people in a crowded room. Although shyness itself may not necessarily be a problem, parents should pay attention to signs of worry, particularly in their shy children. Importantly, however, we know that not all shy children are the same, and that many shy children grow up to be well-balanced adults. To look at shyness, researchers brought 152 children aged 7-8 into a lab and told them they would give a speech, which would be filmed and shown to other children. The study showed that about 10% of the children showed a level of stress over time when giving the speech. About 25% of the children were not reported to be shy in the eyes of their parents, but in fact showed a level of social stress from giving the speech. This finding provides the fact that shyness may be a part of these children’s temperament (性情). 28. What can we learn from paragraph 1? A. Shyness is not an unusual characteristic. B. Shyness is born with personality. C. Shyness will appear when one is in public. D. Shyness means not communicating with others. 29. What is the finding of the study? A. Few kids like to give a speech to others. B. Some kids can get shy while giving speeches. C. Some kids appear less shy with their parents. D. Some kids are stressed when being separated. 30. What does the author advise parents to do when facing shy children? A. Bring them to crowded space. B. Care for them and give them confidence. C. Keep them away from shyness. D. Let them be alone. 31. What can be the best title for the text? A. When are people shy? B. Ways of beating shyness C. Why is shyness a bad thing? D. The discoveries about shyness D AI is already part of our daily lives. However, dependence on it can cause great harm to our ability to think critically. According to researchers from Microsoft and Carnegie Mellon University, too much reliance on these tools can cause great harm to critical thinking, as well as negatively affect the brain’s ability to combine different ideas, styles, or systems into a single idea or system. The study defined the structure of thought as a pyramid. In this way, knowledge is at the top, followed by understanding ideas, practice, comparing ideas and, finally, synthesizing (合成) them. Based on surveys of 319 so-called “knowledge workers”, who can generally be categorized as “white-collar jobs”, the study found that while generative AI can improve efficiency, it can hold back critical engagement with work. In this way, it potentially ends up leading to increasing dependence on the tool in the long term, in addition to a decrease in the ability to independently solve problems. The impact of this problem is being seen mainly in the business sector. According to a report published by the World Economic Forum, there was a decrease of around 41% in the workforce. Big tech CEOs have admitted that they are distributing much of their work to AI, according to CNET. This migration of functions to AI has led to a wave of layoffs and fewer job openings. A series of executive (执行的) orders related to AI safety issued by former US President Joe Biden have been revoked by President Donald Trump, reducing limitations on big tech. In this regard, last week, Google lifted a ban on the use of AI in the development of weapons and surveillance (监视) tools. Another very common use by workers is to use AI to correct and review their work already done. Although this action requires some critical thinking, researchers warn that long-term use can destroy the ability to synthesize. 32. Which part of the thought pyramid is most affected by AI? A. Practising. B. Comparing. C. Understanding. D. Synthesizing. 33. Why is workforce decrease in business mentioned? A. To show AI damages economy. B. To indicate AI-related job loss. C. To advise workers to raise efficiency. D. To prove AI has more critical thinking. 34. What does the underlined word “revoked” in paragraph 4 mean? A. Analyzed. B. Cancelled. C. Considered. D. Strengthened. 35. What can be inferred from Google lifting the AI use ban? A. AI safety is no longer a concern. B. Google leads in AI military fields. C. People grow more inclusive of AI. D. The previous ban ignores the reality. A pile of homework can seem frightening, but it can be done if you make a plan. At an early age, she was crazy about singing. Whenever she had a chance, she would sing to her heart’s content. Her sweet and charming voice tended to get people around attracted to her songs. Living in a small city, I took several odd jobs, determined to do everything in my power to support her. Soon after Jane attended school, her music teacher Mary noticed her talent by chance and volunteered to give her some guidance on how to sing. Jane practiced so hard that before long she made great progress in singing. Unfortunately, one noon a year later, Jane was crossing the street when a careless driver knocked her down. She was rushed to hospital. When I hurried there, the doctor told me that my daughter would probably not stand on her own feet. I froze with shock, feeling as if I had been thrown into a dark world. Weak and dizzy, I was about to fall to the ground when someone took hold of me. It was Mary, who got the news and raced here. She comforted me, saying firmly, “Grace, Jane needs you. You must stay calm and strong.” I nodded. Having calmed down, I entered the ward with Mary. That night, Jane recovered her consciousness (知觉) and opened her eyes. Holding her hand, I said, “My dear, everything would be fine.” Mary comforted her gently, “I know you are a strong girl, Jane. Don’t worry. We’ll be standing by you.” I was heartbroken to see tears streaming down Jane’s cheeks. After two months, we returned home from hospital. Her teachers and friends frequently visited her. Jane eventually accepted the fact that she would have to get around in a wheelchair. Never did she refer to the subject of singing again. I knew she was a nice and understanding girl, who was afraid that talking about her original dream would upset the two of us. One day, however, Mary came with good news. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ When the host announced it was Jane’s turn, she was wheeled onto the stage. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 第1页/共1页 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $I don't know how you can listen to . this light music. M: Yes, we will offer repair services, but probably the main aim will be teaching people to do their own repairs — mostly online, but we’ll also run some in-person classes. W: And when something is beyond repair, you could turn it into art! M: Great idea! 14. What are the speakers mainly talking about? A. Our new head-teacher introduced the programme last year. M: Wow, interesting! Has it been popular with the students? W: Some of us weren’t happy at first, but everyone is on board now. Personally, I was a big fan of the idea from the start. M: Really? W: Yeah. In fact, I’d thought about volunteering before, but it wasn’t easy to fit it in around school time and my weekend job. Now I get to leave school early every Thursday to go to the animal shelter. M: That’s so cool! Do your friends work there with you? W: No, we all do different things. Sarah volunteers at a retirement home, Dan works with disabled kids, and Mike works a shift at a food bank every Friday morning. M: Wow, that’s important work. Food banks feed some of the poorest in our community. W: True. The programme has really opened our eyes to the world’s problems, and I think we’re more caring as a result. 18. Where will the visitors go? A. A hotel. B. Please take your seats and let’s get going. I won’t talk for long, as our destination is only a 20-minute bus ride from our hotel here in central Stockholm. Today we’re visiting Skansen, the world’s oldest open-air museum. As a “living museum,” Skansen provides us with a picture of ordinary Swedish life before the Industrial Age. The site features over 150 historical buildings brought to the museum from all over the country. Activities take place each day in both Swedish and English; they are given by actors in traditional costume, which really brings the history to life. Skansen is the world’s only open-air museum with wild animals, and the Nordic Zoo features many types of local wildlife such as deer and bears. There’s also a Children’s Zoo. The Skansen Aquarium also has fish, plus many other creatures such as snakes, insects and monkeys! Unfortunately, this isn’t included in our entry price, but adult tickets cost just 160 kronor — about 20 of your Canadian dollars. A Four Best Spa (水疗) Experiences Near London Cliveden, Taplow, Berkshire This National Trust at Cliveden, lying on the banks of the Thames, is one of the top spa hotels near London. D 25. B 26. C 27. 根据第二段中“I wanted to simply fit in with my friends. Growing up in America was hard as a person of color. D. The discoveries about shyness 【答案】28. A 29. B 30. B 31. D 【解析】 【导语】主要讲述的是无论害羞是孩子性格的一部分,还是他们在一群陌生人面前的感觉,这都是一种常见的经历。 【28题详解】 细节理解题。根据第一段“Whether shyness is part of your children’s personality or just something they feel when they are in front of a group of strangers, it is a common experience, according to a study. (一项研究表明,无论害羞是孩子性格的一部分,还是他们在一群陌生人面前的感觉,这都是一种常见的经历。)”可知,害羞并不是一个不寻常的特征。 【29题详解】 细节理解题。根据第五段“The study showed that about 10% of the children showed a level of stress over time when giving the speech. About 25% of the children were not reported to be shy in the eyes of their parents, but in fact showed a level of social stress from giving the speech. (研究表明,随着时间的推移,大约10%的孩子在演讲时表现出一定程度的压力。据报道,大约25%的孩子在父母眼中并不害羞,但事实上,他们在演讲时表现出一定程度的社会压力。)”可知,这项研究的发现是部分孩子演讲的时候会感到害羞紧张。 【30题详解】 细节理解题。根据第四段“Although shyness itself may not necessarily be a problem, parents should pay attention to signs of worry, particularly in their shy children. (虽然害羞本身不一定是一个问题,但父母应该注意焦虑的迹象,尤其是他们害羞的孩子。)”可知,当面对害羞的孩子时,父母应该关心他们,给他们信心。 【31题详解】 主旨大意题。根据第一段“Whether shyness is part of your children’s personality or just something they feel when they are in front of a group of strangers, it is a common experience, according to a study. (一项研究表明,无论害羞是孩子性格的一部分,还是他们在一群陌生人面前的感觉,这都是一种常见的经历。)”以及后文对这一发现的研究和介绍可知,文章围绕害羞展开,介绍了害羞的表现与相关科研成果,所以“The discoveries about shyness(关于羞怯的相关研究发现)”最能概括全文核心,适合作为最佳标题。 D AI is already part of our daily lives. 【答案】32. D 33. B 34. B 35. Amazingly 74. drunk 75. a 【解析】 【导语】这是一篇说明文。文章介绍了中国六大名茶之一的白茶。 【66题详解】 考查动词时态语态。句意:17世纪初期,中国的茶叶出口到欧洲。本句中主语与谓语动词构成被动,且根据时间状语In the early period of the 17th century可知应用一般过去时,主语为tea,是不可数名词,谓语动词用单数,故填was exported。 【67题详解】 考查名词。句意:中国的茶叶品种繁多。分析句子结构可知,形容词great后接名词variety(多样性)进行修饰,此处是介词短语in great variety,意为“各种各样”。故填variety。 【68题详解】 考查非谓语。句意:你可以通过茶的颜色、味道、形式等来辨别茶的品质。分析句子结构可知,句中已有谓语rely on,因此空处需使用动词的非谓语形式,空处可使用不定式作宾语补足语。故填to tell。 故填with/among。 分析句子结构可知,此处是一个省略句,完整句子应该是:if (it is) drunk regularly, white tea will benefit people’s physical and mental health. (如果经常喝白茶,它将有利于人们的身心健康),此if引导的状语从句中省略了与主句相同的主语white tea(it)和动词be,所以此处只填过去分词drunk表示被动。故填drunk。 【75题详解】 考查冠词。句意:不管怎么说,白茶是大自然的馈赠。分析句子结构可知,present表礼物是可数名词,此处表示一份礼物,且great首字母的发音为辅音音素。故填a。 第四部分:写作 第一节应用文写作(满分15分) 76. 假定你是高中生李华,你看到外教Catherine在个人博客开设了“Growing Pains”栏目。请你给该栏目写一篇帖子,内容包括: 1. 你成长中的烦恼; 2. 你希望获得的帮助。 注意: 1. 写作词数应为80个左右; 2. 请按如下格式在答题纸的相应位置作答。 Dear Catherine, ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Yours truly, Li Hua 【答案】Dear Catherine, Upon learning the “Growing Pains” column you’ve set recently, I couldn’t wait to turn on my laptop and have a look. 注意:1.续写词数应为150左右; 2.请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。 One day, however, Mary came with good news. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ When the host announced it was Jane’s turn, she was wheeled onto the stage. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 【答案】 One day, however, Mary came with good news. She told Jane the school music festival was to be held the next month and that her classmates all expected her to sing on behalf of her class. Jane’s eyes sparkled but responded doubtfully, “Can I...?” Mary and I immediately assured her that she could make it. In the following month, with the help of Mary, Jane kept on practicing singing. Beautiful songs echoed in our house again and smiles began to appear on her face. Finally the big day came when she could present herself. When the host announced it was Jane’s turn, she was wheeled onto the stage. Jane was greeted with warm applause. As she began to sing, the audience got absorbed in her beautiful voice. Seconds after her performance, all the audience rose with thunderous cheers. When wheeled off stage, Jane received praise and bunches of flowers from her teachers and classmates. Jane was moved to tears. The kindness and encouragement from her teachers and classmates stimulated Jane’s enthusiasm for life, making her regain confidence in pursuing her original dream, which I will support wholeheartedly. 词汇激活 行为类 ①希望:expect/hope/wish ②回答:respond/reply/answer ③保证:assure/guarantee/ensure 情绪类 ①眼睛闪闪发光:eyes sparkle/eyes glitter ②感动:move/touch 【点睛】[高分句型1]As she began to sing, the audience got absorbed in her beautiful voice.(由连接词as引导时间状语从句) [高分句型2]The kindness and encouragement from her teachers and classmates stimulated Jane’s enthusiasm for life, making her regain confidence in pursuing her original dream, which I will support wholeheartedly.(由关系代词which引导非限制性定语从句) 第1页/共1页 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $听力考试正式开始。 Excuse me, can you tell me how to get a quick bank?
