On August 7, 2026, a five-day special summer camp came to an end in Xiamen, Fujian. It was called the “You’ou Lai Biaoyan” (有“偶”来表演) Intangible Cultural Heritage Summer Camp. Thirty-four teenagers from both sides of the Taiwan Strait took part in it.
During the camp, the young people learned how to perform with traditional glove puppets. They built a puppet stage together and experienced local folk culture. For many of them, it was the first time they had ever touched a puppet.
“I used to think puppetry was just for old people,” said 14-year-old Lin from Taiwan. “But after learning how to control the puppets, I found it’s really cool. When you move your fingers, the puppets seem to come to life.”

He tells Kira that “ten times more money means ten times more problems” because when people get more money, they tend to spend more. This idea might sound strange at first, but think about it carefully.
When people receive a salary increase, they often upgrade their lifestyle—a bigger apartment, a newer car, more expensive clothes. These upgrades come with higher costs. The more you earn, the more you spend. This is called “lifestyle inflation (生活方式膨胀)”. Many people fall into this trap without realizing it.
However, some people manage to break this cycle. They choose to save and invest the extra money instead of
