If you're in the sea and you see a jellyfish, be careful because it can sting（蜇) you. But now scientists think some jellyfish could actually help humans.

Scientists have been studying a special kind of jellyfish called comb jellyfish, and they have found something amazing! When comb jellyfish get hurt, they can join their bodies together and become one big jellyfish!①They share their nervous systems (神经系统) and stomachs.② This is a skill that no other animals have ever shown. Scientists found this when they saw a strange-looking jellyfish with two mouths and two bottoms in a big water box. How funny that is!

In a test, when scientists touched the joined jellyfish, they both felt it. And when one ate a piece of food, it also passed over to the other --- just like sharing a snack with a friend!

③Comb jellyfish are also known as "sea walnuts (海胡桃)" because of their shape.They live in the ocean and first appeared around 700 million years ago --- a long time before dinosaurs arrived.④They don't sting people, so they're safe to touch. They can regrow any missing part of their bodies and even turn back into babies if they are in dangerous conditions.
