Your Schoolbag Is Getting Smarter!
Do you want a schoolbag that does more than carry books? Smart schoolbags are here, with new features (特点) to make school life easier, healthier, and greener!
❖A Handy Reminder for Your Day
The smart schoolbag has a small screen on the front. It shows your daily schedule with clear icons: a paintbrush for art class, a basketball for P.E., and a book for reading time. “Last week, it reminded me to bring my math workbook,” says Zhang Wei from Nanjing. “I used to forget things, but not anymore!” The screen also shows messages from teachers, like “Hand in your report today!”.
❖Keep Healthy with Your Bag
On the side of the bag, there’s a temperature checker in the water bottle pocket. In winter, if your water is too cold, the pocket turns orange to warn you. The bag also cares about your body. If you sit for over 30 minutes, it gently shakes and says, “Time to stand up and move!” Some bags even have a special pocket for masks, helping you stay safe.
❖Never Lose Things Again!
Tired of losing your pencil case or lunch box? Smart schoolbags come with tiny trackers (跟踪器). If something is missing, tap the bag’s screen—the tracker will make a loud beep. “I found my lost lunch box under the desk in seconds!” says Li Yutong, a 14-year-old user. No more searching everywhere!
❖Friendly to the Environment
These bags are good for the planet, too! The bag is made from recycled plastic bottles, and the strap (带子) has a solar panel (太阳能板). Just 20 minutes in the sun charges (充电) the screen for a whole day—no need for electricity. It’s a small way to help reduce waste.
Teachers say smart bags are useful, but students should still learn to plan on their own. “Technology helps us, but our own skills are the most important,” says Mr. Wang.

Charles Darwin
Early years
Charles Darwin was one of the six children from a big family. His grandfather and father were doctors and the young Darwin went to Edinburgh University to study medicine. However, he hated to see blood and he soon realized that he couldn’t be a doctor. He then went to Cambridge University and discovered that he had a great interest in studying plants, insects and animals. Luckily, one of Darwin’s university teachers helped him, join the perfect trip for a biologist: a voyage around the world to study nature.
The Beagle
In 1831, Charles Darwin left Plymouth on The Beagle, a ship that took him around the world for five years. While he was travelling, he studied the plants and animals in the countries and on the islands that the ship visited. He worked in his study, where he wrote 250,000 words about his theory of evolution (进化论), but he was frightened about what people might say about his idea that monkeys were the ancestors of humans. He thought the public would be against it and was so frightened that he became ill with worry. However, when another scientist started to write about similar ideas, Darwin decided to print his book, On the Origin of Species.

Many teenagers are too shy or nervous to share their feelings with parents or teachers. They worry that their secrets will become topics for others to talk about. ____41____ A recent study covering over 11,000 young students shows that nearly forty percent of teenagers aged 13 to 17 turn to AI chatbots for emotional comfort when they feel upset or troubled.
____42____ Traditional school mental health services have many clear limitations. School counseling (咨询) rooms only open on workdays, which fails to offer help for students. ____43____ AI chatbots provide 24-hour private communication and never judge users’ true feelings. That is why this new tool has won great popularity among teenagers.
Shan is a typical teenager who often chats with AI tools to relax herself. Whenever she feels tired from study or confused about life problems, she will open the chat app on her smartphone. ____44____ It can listen anytime and anywhere, patiently give gentle replies, and keep all her personal information completely safe.
However, every coin has two sides. AI tools are designed for general communication instead of professional mental health guidance. They cannot truly understand teenagers’ real feelings and may give meaningless or wrong advice. Over-dependence on AI will make teenagers lose the ability to communicate with real people in daily life.
Experts and teachers give practical suggestions for teenagers. AI can be a way to relax, but it can never take the place of real human communication. ____45____ Schools need to organize more relaxing activities to reduce students’ pressure. Parents should spend more time accompanying and listening to their children patiently.
A. She thinks this relaxing way is much better than traditional counseling.
B. There are clear reasons for the popularity of AI chatbots among teenagers.

D. True care and face-to-face communication are the best way to solve teenagers’ problems.
E. AI chatbots can completely solve teenagers’ study pressure and emotional troubles.
F. Unlike human advisors, AI will never spread teenagers’ private thoughts to others.

第一节 任务型阅读(共5题,第1题2分,第2-4题3分,第5题4分,满分15分)
What does taking the train mean to you? Perhaps it’s just a way of getting to your destination (目的地). In fact, the train itself can be part of the fun.
On March 28th, China’s first panda-themed tourist train left Chengdu in Sichuan for Zunyi in Guizhou. It soon became the talk of China with its special design and comfortable service.
Its inside and outside are decorated with giant panda pictures. Attendants (乘务员) carry panda toys and passengers can try panda-shaped food and Sichuan snacks. Some people call it a mobile star hotel because it has a bar, karaoke room, dance hall, and mahjong (麻将) room.
This luxury (高档的) service is one aspect that has attracted travelers. But train travel interests people for other reasons.
In the fast-paced times we live in, train travel is a good way to slow down. It gives you time and space to read, sleep, chat with friends, or simply do nothing but watch the changing scenery outside.
One surprising thing is that you might meet new people. Sheng Yawei, 26, once took the longest railway in the world-the Trans-Siberian Railway. Sheng met a Russian student and they became friends. “I also met a cute boy who gave me melon seeds (瓜子). Though we didn’t understand each other’s language, it made me feel nice.”

A
Your Schoolbag Is Getting Smarter!
Wang.
Smart schoolbags are more than bags—they’re like helpful friends for every student. Would you like to own one?

A. By telling a story. B. By asking a question.

A. It helps track lost objects faster.
B. It lights up the screen in the dark.
C. It keeps the masks in the pocket clean.

31. What does Mr. Wang probably agree with?
A. Smart bags are unnecessary for school life.
B. Technology is more important than skills.
C. Students should simply depend on smart schoolbags.

Early years
Charles Darwin was one of the six children from a big family.
Darwin also spent his time on The Beagle writing notes about the things he had seen. When he finally arrived back in Britain, Darwin was already starting to create his famous theory that all living things had a common ancestor (祖先).
Down house
At home at Down House, a place that you can still visit today, Darwin wrote many articles and books about his travels, but he didn’t want to make anything about his theory known to the public.
Most scientists accepted Darwin’s theory and people continue to study it today. On 12th February, the day he was born, Darwin Day is celebrated around the world to encourage more people to study the natural world.

Nowadays, modern teenagers are facing various kinds of pressure in their daily study and life. Heavy learning tasks, frequent exams and daily conflicts with family members often make them feel anxious and helpless.
