Teaching Procedures:

 

Step 1. Lead - in

1). Let Ss read a short passage and guess the profession of "Crystal".

2). Show the first picture. Ask Ss to guess the person's profession, daily work, and bedtime. (Learn new words and focus on the special night-shift routine of nurses.)

3). Show the second picture. Ask Ss to guess the person's profession, daily work, and wake-up time. (Learn new words and focus on the early start of street cleaners.)

Step 2. Fast - reading

1). Ask Ss to quickly read the two passages on page 80 to find out who the two people in the photos are, which countries they are from, and what their professions are.

2). Guide Ss to identify the text type (narrative) and choose the main idea of the passages.

3). Guide Ss to structure the daily schedules of Wenwen's mother and Colin's father using a table, providing a clear and intuitive overview for further analysis.

 

Step 3. Careful - reading

1). Ss read the first passage carefully and answer three questions.
