第二节 语篇理解与推理(共12小题;每小题2分,满分24分)
A
15 years ago, I was poor and lived alone. A nearby pet hospital always kept one or two adoptable (供领养的) animals in the window. One day, a beautiful black cat showed up. The moment I saw her, I decided to take her home and named her Carla.
① . Every night, Carla and I would sit side by side watching TV. We shared lots of hours of doing nothing——the quiet time that can feel sort of lonely if you’re alone, but like healing(治愈) if you have someone with you.
② , I married a woman named Lynn and we finally bought a house. For over ten years, it was the three of us.
The day after Christmas, six years ago, Carla jumped on our bed. We thought she just wanted her breakfast, Lynn headed downstairs—but, strangely, Carla stayed in the bedroom. A moment later, Lynn came running back: “I smell smoke.” I went to the basement (地下室), where I found fires from the ceiling. I carried our kitchen extinguisher(灭火器) and tried to put it out, and I ran up to the kitchen and called 911.
A firefighter later told us that if Carla didn’t buy us that extra time, the fire would have covered the house and us.
While the house was being repaired, we spent a month in a hotel. Carla would tell you that it was the best time of her life: her people, a bed, food——all in the same room.
Our schedules(日常安排) slowly changed as we got older. And then came the warning signs. Carla started to lose a lot of weight. The light began to leave her eyes. One night I made a fire and she climbed in my lap and bumped her head into my face. Then she went and sat quietly nearby as we watched television, just like the old days. It felt like a goodbye. I think she knew.
The next day, our vet told us that there was little more we could do for Carla. We had to let her go.
③ . We haven’t got used to a house without Carla. We still expect her at dinner, and Lynn still waits for her to come and say: Time for bed.
④ . Eventually(最终), we’ll welcome new animals into our home. But I’m sure I’ll never be as thankful to another cat as I am to her.
9.Carla jumped on the bed because she wanted to________.
A.have her breakfast. B.play with her owner.
C.remind her owner about the fire. D.sleep on the bed.
10.We can put the following sentence “Soon, I started to see daylight and put my life back in order.” in________.
A.① B.② C.③ D.④
11.What can we infer from the story?
A.The fire started in the kitchen first.
B.Time in the hotel was Carla’s best time of life.
C.Carla didn’t share the same room with the writer in the house.
D.The fire would have covered the house without Carla’s warning.
12.What is the best title for the story?
A.How I Survived a Fire B.My Beautiful Black Cat
C.The Cat Who Saved My Life D.The Darkest Days of My Life

①The ocean is home to masses of small floating living things called zooplankton (浮游动物). Some are as tiny as 0.04 inches long, and they spend most of their lives asleep, deep in the ocean. New research has shone a light on how these little creatures are important for helping to protect the planet against global warming.
②The research, led by scientists from China, the UK and Canada, focused on the Southern Ocean (also known as the Antarctic Ocean). The Southern Ocean is about one sixteenth of Earth’s total ocean area.
③The team studied types of zooplankton called copepods, krill, and salps. All of these creatures eat tiny plant-like living things called phytoplankton, which live near the sea’s surface and absorb (吸收) carbon dioxide (CO2), a greenhouse gas. Greenhouse gases trap the Sun’s heat in the atmosphere, contributing to climate change. In winter, the zooplankton sink about 1,600 feet below the surface of the ocean. There they slowly breathe out the carbon dioxide from the phytoplankton they have eaten, releasing (释放) it into the water. This process is called the “seasonal migrant pump”. Each year, it transports more than 70 million tons of carbon to areas far below the ocean’s surface. Because the zooplankton are so deep down, the gas they release takes many years, sometimes even centuries, to rise to the surface and enter Earth’s atmosphere.
④Angus Atkinson who worked on the study, told BBC News that without the seasonal migrant pump, the levels of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere would be double what they are now.
⑤Guang Yang, another researcher, said zooplankton are “unsung heroes” of carbon storage. The team hopes the study will encourage scientists to include zooplankton in their calculations of how much carbon is stored around the world. It also highlights the importance of protecting the Southern Ocean, where krill are in danger because of fishing. Environmental activists say people should be careful not to damage krill populations, which are not only a food source for whales, seals, penguins, and seabirds but also help fight climate change.
13.What does “shone a light on” probably mean in the passage?
A.wondered B.shown C.imagined D.doubted
14.Why is the carbon released by zooplankton slow to enter the atmosphere?
A.It’s taken in by sea animals quickly. B.It stays deep in the ocean for a long time.
C.It is used by phytoplankton again. D.It turns into a different gas under the sea.
15.Which of the following describes the structure of the passage?
A. B. C. D.
16.What might the writer talk about in the next paragraph?
A.The reasons for protecting whales, seals and seabirds.
B.The purpose of fishing for the seals and zooplankton.
C.The products made from the zooplankton from the Southern Ocean.
D.The ways of protecting the small zooplankton in the Southern Ocean.

Art speaks to parts of us that ordinary language often can’t reach. A melody can awaken a feeling we don’t know how to name. A painting can make us stop, look again and see the world differently. A poem can turn an ordinary moment into something strange, beautiful and unforgettable. These experiences may seem quiet, but they matter deeply. They’re what aesthetic (审美的) education offers: not only the training of skills, but also the education of the heart.
Today, this kind of learning is often undervalued. In many schools and universities, the arts are being marginalized (被边缘化的). At the same time, the rise of AI has led many people to question the value of human creativity. If images, music and writing can be generated (产生) in seconds, it’s easy to wonder whether art has become less important.
But this way of thinking misses something essential. Art is valuable not just because it produces something impressive. Its deepest value lies in the experience it creates. Aesthetic education teaches students to notice beauty, sit with sadness, welcome mystery, and feel awe before things larger than themselves. It reminds us that life isn’t only about speed, results and efficiency. It’s also about wonder, attention, and feeling fully alive.
This is something AI systems can never truly replace. AI can imitate styles, combine patterns and produce polished results, but it cannot live a human life. It cannot stand before a painting and suddenly remember a lost afternoon, a childhood fear, or a moment of hope. True aesthetic experiences belong to human beings because they grow out of memory, emotion, imagination, and the need to create meaning.
That’s why students should not accept the idea that creative expression is becoming obsolete. Even if the arts are under pressure, the human need for art has not disappeared. In fact, it may be more important now than ever. Visit a museum, learn an instrument, try painting, even badly, write a poem no one else will read. These are not useless acts. They are ways of protecting your inner life. To create, appreciate, and be moved by art is still one of the most human things we can do. In a world increasingly shaped by algorithms, it’s a quiet form of resistance and one of the deepest sources of joy we have.
17.Why does the writer mention “a melody, a painting and a poem” in Paragraph 1?
A.To show different forms of art that only AI can create.
B.To explain how ordinary language describes art clearly.
C.To introduce the topic of aesthetic education and its value.
D.To compare human art with AI-generated creative works.
18.Why do some people doubt whether art still matters a lot at present?
A.Art education brings few practical advantages for students.
B.AI is able to produce various artworks in a very short time.
C.Schools have cancelled all the courses related to art learning.
D.Human creative ability is much weaker than AI technology.
19.Which of the following is the best example of a “true aesthetic experiences”?
A.Reading many different facts about art from a textbook.
B.Remembering all the painting brush skills in an art textbook.
C.Using an AI app to create a horse painting in Xu Beihong’s style.
D.Feeling tears come to your eyes when hearing grandma’s favorite song.
20.What is the writer’s attitude (态度) towards the future of art?
A.Doubtful. B.Worried. C.Uncertain. D.Hopeful.

Before air-conditioners (空调) were invented, southern China’s skywells played a key role in keeping 41 (people) homes cool. Could they do it again today?
A skywell, or tian jing, is a typical part of traditional homes in southern and eastern China. Different from a northern Chinese courtyard, or yuan zi, it is 42 (smart) and less open to the outdoor environment.
Skywells 43 (design) to cool buildings before air-conditioners appeared. When wind blows above a skywell house, it can enter the indoor space 44 the opening. Because outdoor air is often cooler than indoor air, the wind blows in and moves down the walls to the lower floors and 45 (create) airflow by taking the place of warmer indoor air, which rises and leaves.
Skywell buildings have a history of hundreds of years in China, 46 recently they have often been forgotten by people who prefer modern buildings. Over the past twenty years, however, skywell buildings 47 (start) to become popular again.
Yu Youhong, 55, has spent more than 30 years 48 (repair) skywell homes in Wuyuan of Jiangxi Province. One of the skywell homes repaired by Yu is in a small village. The 300-year-old house was bought by Edward Gawne, a man from the UK, and his Chinese wife in 2015. 49 couple turned the three-floor house into a 14-room hotel with the help of Yu. They kept the spaces around the skywells as they were before. They are open and with natural airflow. Gawne says that even without air-conditioners, people can rest around the skywell areas 50 (comfortable) in summer.
Skywells will be more and more popular among younger generations. They match young people’s ideas about environmental protection. In short, skywells will be important again in our lives.
第三部分 语篇读写(共二节,满分45分)
第一节 阅读与回答问题(共5小题:第51题2分,第5254题每小题3分,第55题4分,满分15分)
In China, intangible cultural heritage (非物质文化遗产) has been passed down from generation to generation. Behind every great piece of traditional artwork is an artist with a special personality. Master Wang, a famous wood carving artist in Suzhou, is a perfect example of this.
Wang has been curious about wood carving since his childhood. He believes that every piece of wood has its own soul. Making a beautiful sculpture requires not only excellent skills but also an amazing imagination. More importantly, a wood carver must be extremely patient. Sometimes, Wang has to sit in his small studio for over ten hours a day, paying attention to every detail of the wood. “A miss is as good as a mile. Any tiny mistake may ruin the whole work,” he often tells his students.
In modern society, many young people are too energetic and eager for quick success to choose such a lonely career. However, Master Wang never thought of giving up. He thinks that nothing is more meaningful than bringing a piece of dead wood to life. His organized and peaceful mind helps him create works that impress people from all over the world.
51.How long does Master Wang sometimes work in his small studio a day?
52.Why does Master Wang tell his students to be extremely careful with every detail?
53.According to the passage, what are the main differences in attitudes towards careers between Master Wang and some young people today?
54.What would be the best title for this passage?
55.Which Chinese traditional art do you want to learn? (Give at least two personal qualities you need to practice it well, and write about 30 words.)

15.Which of the following describes the structure of the passage?

D.Hopeful.
紧接着文章指出“These experiences... are what aesthetic education offers”。因此,作者提及这三者是为了引出审美教育这一话题并阐述其价值。
18.根据第二段内容“At the same time, the rise of AI has led many people to question the value of human creativity. If images, music and writing can be generated in seconds...”可知,AI能在几秒钟内生成图像、音乐和文字,这种高效率让人们怀疑人类创造力的价值以及艺术是否变得不再重要。
19.根据第四段内容“True aesthetic experiences belong to human beings because they grow out of memory, emotion, imagination...”可知,真正的审美体验源于人类的记忆、情感和想象力,是AI无法模拟的。
20.文章最后一段提到“the human need for art has not disappeared... it may be more important now than ever”,并称艺术是“one of the deepest sources of joy we have”。这表明作者对艺术的未来持积极、充满希望的态度。
