B Chen Ning Yang, Nobel winner and one of the world’s most influential physicists, has died from an illness at the age of 103, according to Chinese state media. Yang and another theoretical physicist, Lee Tsung-Dao, were jointly awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1957 for their work in parity laws (宇称定律), which led to important discoveries regarding elementary particles — the building blocks of matter. The Nobel committee praised their in-depth research on physics. Yang achieved his dream at the age of 35, when his work with Lee studying the law of parity earned them the honour in 1957. He was also a professor at Beijing’s famous Tsinghua University and an honorary dean of the Institute for Advanced Study at the institution. Born in 1922 in China’s eastern Anhui province, he was the oldest of five children and raised on the campus of Tsinghua University where his father was a professor of mathematics. As a teenager, Yang told his parents: “One day, I want to win the Nobel Prize.” Yang received his science degree in 1942 from National Southwest Associated University in Kunming, and later completed a master’s degree at Tsinghua University. At the end of the Anti-Japanese War, he travelled to the US on a scholarship from Tsinghua and studied at the University of Chicago, where he worked under Italian physicist Enrico Fermi, inventor of the world’s first nuclear reactor. Throughout a long and productive career, he worked across all areas of physics, but maintained particular interest in the fields of statistical mechanics (统计力学) and symmetry principles (对称性原理). Yang received the Albert Einstein Commemorative Award in 1957 and was also awarded an honorary PhD by Princeton University in 1958. 24.What made Yang and Lee win the Nobel Prize? A.Their deep research on physics. B.Their contribution in parity laws. C.Their discoveries of elementary particles. D.Their research on the building blocks of matter. 25.What can be inferred about Yang’s early life? A.His father taught him physics. B.He is the eldest child in his family. C.He studied at Tsinghua University. D.His childhood experience influenced him a lot. 26.What do we know about Yang’s work after he won the Nobel Prize? A.He remained active in various physics fields. B.He stopped doing research in particle physics. C.He reduced his interest in statistical mechanics. D.He focused entirely on teaching in China. 27.Which of the following best describes Yang? A.Patient and creative. B.Ambitious and sociable. C.Adventurous and gifted. D.Well-educated and devoted. C A simple dab (轻敷) that can stop bleeding, close up a hole in the lung and repair broken bones is how researchers describe a new high-strength, degradable surgical adhesive (粘合剂) developed at the South China University of Technology. The product was created by Professor Shi Xuetao and his team at the university’s National Engineering Research Center. ”The strong polyurethane (聚氨酯)-based glue can stick to the body’s tissues and can hold in both blood and air inside organs, and its mechanical features are better than all other medical adhesives available on the market for internal use,“ Shi said. Trials of the glue performed on animals have shown positive results. Another doctor involved in the research described the adhesive as a transformative approach to managing air leaks after lung surgery. Official data shows lung cancer is the most common tumor in China. Many patients need surgery. After the tumor is removed, doctors usually use stitches or medical staples. However, even the best means sometimes cannot fully prevent air leaks (泄露). A report in the New England Journal of Medicine notes that some lung cancer patients die shortly after discharge following surgery, often not from surgical complications but from sudden collapsed lungs, which leave little time for rescue. Usually, broken bones take around 18 months to heal completely. This glue is designed to dissolve slowly over the same time, so the body can replace it with new bone. The adhesive has entered the technology final stage and is being prepared for clinical use. “Factories can produce up to 1 million units per year, and it is expected to play an important role in improving the effectiveness of surgical procedures,” Shi said. “We are now applying for official approval for medical use,” Shi told. Shi’s team has been working on the technology for more than a decade in collaboration with hospitals, and it is the first polyurethane surgical adhesive of its kind developed in China. 28.How does the author introduce the new surgical adhesive in the beginning? A.By explaining its chemical elements. B.By comparing it with traditional means. C.By quoting doctors’ words. D.By describing its functions. 29.What might be a major current problem after lung tumor surgery according to the Para.3? A.High cost of medical staples. B.Inability to stop air leaks completely. C.Lack of skilled surgeons. D.Long recovery time. 30.What is Professor Shi Xuetao’s attitude toward the new surgical adhesive? A.Confident and optimistic. B.Cautious and negative. C.Regretful and ambiguous. D.Curious and skeptical. 31.Which of the following would be the best title for the passage? A.Lung Cancer: Challenges and Treatments in China B.A New Surgical Glue: Stronger healing, Fewer leaks C.Professor Shi Xuetao: A Pioneer in Medical Research D.From Lab to Factory: The Story of Medical Innovation D It is probably no surprise to you that stress is a major driver of illness. We urgently need simple and objective ways to study and measure it. The temperature of someone’s nose — most notably, on the tip — might be about to give us the answers we need. Thermal (热的) cameras, usually used to show heat loss in buildings, are proving invaluable in medicine for tracking abnormal changes in body temperature related to conditions including infection and even cancer. Researchers are now also using thermal cameras to read people’s stress levels by mapping their temperature changes in their face. Blood is constantly moving around our bodies through the widening and narrowing of vessels (血管) to control its flow. But blood flow gets redirected when we are stressed. The nervous system pushes blood towards our eyes and ears, resulting in less blood around the nose. This decrease in blood is spotted by a thermal camera as a drop in temperature. This effect has been named the “nasal dip”, and it is not unique to humans. It has been reported not only in adults and children, but also in some animals. Used in combination with existing measures, thermal imaging could be a game changer for stress research. With no need for labs or machines, it can provide a way to continuously monitor without any physical contact with the person under evaluation. In the very near future, we could check the temperature of our nose as a kind of biofeedback to help us understand and adjust our stress states. We could track stress in babies before they learn to speak, and in patients who struggle to communicate. We could detect harmful levels of stress in high pressure environments like emergency rooms, trading floors or even zoos. 32.What was thermal cameras commonly used for? A.Reading people’s stress levels. B.Identifying heat escape in buildings. C.Monitoring blood flow in the human body. D.Tracking abnormal body temperature changes. 33.What happens to the nose when people are stressed? A.Its temperature rises. B.It changes shape slightly. C.Blood flow to it decreases. D.It becomes more sensitive. 34.Why could thermal imaging be a game changer for stress research? A.It can spot infections and cancers. B.It offers accurate results with special machines. C.It can provide constant and non-contact monitoring. D.It can cure stress and anxiety by providing biofeedback. 35.What can be a suitable title? A.Stress: A Major Cause of Illnesses B.Thermal Cameras: From Building to Medicine C.The Nasal Dip Phenomenon in Humans and Animals D.The Nose Tip Temperature: A New Way to Measure Stress When it comes to the question how to encourage students to achieve success, teachers may offer different answers based on their own teaching experience. Here are some suggestions. Post your expectations around the room. If a student does not understand what teachers expect from him, he will have a much greater chance of failure. From the first day of class your expectations should be clear. Many teachers post their class rules for all to see. 36 You can select posters with encouraging words that explain your expectations. 37    Make sure that you do not show any bias (偏见) towards students’ learning. If you believe that the students in your class can’t learn a subject well, they probably won’t. 38 Be careful about the words you use and make sure that you don’t make students feel that you doubt their abilities. You must believe strongly and sincerely that your students can and will learn what you are teaching them. Allow students the space to learn on their own. 39 While you can provide guidance,as the year goes on,you should pull back and give them more responsibility for their own learning. You should avoid jumping right in and helping students by simply providing them with the answers to their questions. 40 A.Pay special attention to slower students. B.Have a right attitude to students’ abilities. C.It is also a great idea to put up your expectations. D.A healthy teacher-parent relationship is necessary. E.The way a teacher treats students is very important. F.Students need to learn to become self-directed learners. G.Instead, lead students to find the answers by themselves. Kids often ask Scout Bassett if she wishes she had two normal legs. As head of the imaging team at Beijing Chest Hospital, Hou said since the introduction of an AI system in 2020, he has witnessed a significant advance in the accuracy 57 efficiency of their work. Designed 58 (analyze) chest test results for lung problems, the system can process a 300-to-600-part chest test within seconds, 59 (provide) clear data on the size, shape and thickness of the problems. Doctors then base their further evaluations on these initial 60 (finding) to determine if surgery is needed. Before the system 61 (adopt) , Hou used to spend over 20 minutes reviewing a single patient’s chest test; now, thanks to the AI. they can complete checks for about 600 patients daily with 62 (it) support. This great 63 (improve) in work efficiency has surprised everyone in the team, yet the system’s remarkable efficiency does not make it a replacement for human skills. Hou pointed out that the AI sometimes sends false alarms and cannot assess potential risks as accurately as experienced doctors, 64 means further development of AI in healthcare is still necessary Every report generated by the system must be 65 (careful) examined by doctors, highlighting the irreplaceable role of human judgement. Dear Jim, ____________________________________________________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________________________________________________ __________________________________________________________________________ Yours Lihua 第二节(满分25分) 67. One summer when I was ten years old,my brother and I received a wonderful gift — tennis rackets (球拍) and balls. We had never had the opportunity to play tennis, so this was exciting. However, there was one problem — the small town we lived in did not have a tennis court (网球场). One Saturday morning my brother said, “Hey, I’ve got an idea.Let’s take our tennis rackets and balls to the school and hit the balls against the school building.” “Great idea! Let’s go,” I agreed, not realizing what a lesson we would learn. When we got to the school ground, no one was around, so we began hitting our balls against the side of the building. “I’ll hit it the first time,” my brother suggested,“then you hit it the next time. We’ll hit it back and forth to each other.” So we began taking turns hitting the ball, getting more confident with each hit. Actually, we became pretty good at returning the ball and we were hitting the ball higher and faster each time. Suddenly, the unexpected thing happened — the ball got out of control and went crashing through one of the upstairs windows, leaving lots of broken glass on the ground. We looked around and no one was in sight except there was a guard sitting there over a distance. Quietly, I asked, “Now what should I do?” “Well,” my brother answered, “no one saw us, except that old man down there. And he probably can’t see this far.” “He probably doesn’t know who we are anyway... Let’s go home,” I added. As we picked up the rest of our balls and went home, we discussed whether to tell Mom and Dad what had happened. Would we be punished for our mistakes? Would every penny we had saved go to pay for the window? Or just keep it a secret? We thought about all these things all the way. But that decision was made the moment we walked into the house. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ On Monday, my brother and I went to school. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 试题 第3页(共12页) 试题 第4页(共12页) 试题 第1页(共12页) 试题 第2页(共12页) 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $ 2026-2027学年高一必修第二册英语单元自测 Unit 6 The Admirable·能力提升卷 建议用时120分钟,满分150分 第一部分 听力(共两节,每小题1.5分, 满分30分) 1. I feel proud knowing your interest in Chinese history. As for my favorite figure in Chinese history, it must be Wei Yuan, a great thinker in the late Qing Dynasty. He, in his book, Haiguo Tuzhi (Maps and Records of the World), introduced modern technologies and ideas to China, which opened our eyes to the world. So he and his works are still worthy of being respected by us now. In fact, he inspires me to major in English in college, to be a bridge between China and the world. Interested in knowing more? I can find you some books! Just let me know. But that decision was made the moment we walked into the house. As we were about to tell Mom what had happened, she asked first. Gathering the courage, we told her. “Oh, my goodness!” my mother said. After a short while, Dad came up and said, “Well, the first thing on Monday, you two have to talk to the headmaster and admit your mistake. You will probably have to pay for the window, but that is what you two should do.” On Monday, my brother and I went to school. With our hearts beating wildly, we went to the headmaster and told the whole story. Smiling, he told us that he had known it from the school guard, and he was glad we were there. He said the school would repair the window, so we needn’t worry. “I am proud of you,” he continued. We felt proud too and learned it was good to be honest. 1.What are the speakers talking about? A.Lung Cancer: Challenges and Treatments in China B.A New Surgical Glue: Stronger healing, Fewer leaks C.Professor Shi Xuetao: A Pioneer in Medical Research D.From Lab to Factory: The Story of Medical Innovation 【答案】28.D 29.B 30.A 31.B 【导语】这是一篇说明文。 根据第一段“A simple dab (轻敷) that can stop bleeding, close up a hole in the lung and repair broken bones is how researchers describe a new high-strength, degradable surgical adhesive (粘合剂) developed at the South China University of Technology.(研究人员称,这种新型高强度可降解的外科粘合剂只需轻轻涂抹一下,就能止血、封闭肺部伤口以及修复骨折)”可推知,首段是通过描述其功能来介绍这种外科粘合剂的。故选D。 29. 根据第三段中“However, even the best means sometimes cannot fully prevent air leaks (泄露). A.Stress: A Major Cause of Illnesses B.Thermal Cameras: From Building to Medicine C.The Nasal Dip Phenomenon in Humans and Animals D.The Nose Tip Temperature: A New Way to Measure Stress 【答案】32.B 33.C 34.C 35.D 【导语】本文是一篇说明文。文章主要介绍了热成像技术可通过监测鼻尖温度变化来衡量压力水平,该方法无创便捷且应用前景广阔。 【详解】32.细节理解题。根据第二段中的“Thermal (热的) cameras, usually used to show heat loss in buildings, are proving invaluable in medicine for tracking abnormal changes in body temperature related to conditions including infection and even cancer. (热成像摄像机通常被用于检测建筑物的热量流失情况,如今在医学领域也证明了其重要价值,可用于追踪与感染甚至癌症等病症相关的体温异常变化)”可知,热成像摄像机的常见用途是检测建筑物的热量流失。故选B项。 33.细节理解题。根据第三段中的“But blood flow gets redirected when we are stressed. The nervous system pushes blood towards our eyes and ears, resulting in less blood around the nose. (但当我们感到压力时,血液流动会发生转移。神经系统会将血液输送到眼部和耳部,导致鼻部的血液供应减少)”可知,人处于压力状态时,流向鼻子的血液会减少。故选C项。 34.细节理解题。根据第四段中的“Used in combination with existing measures, thermal imaging could be a game changer for stress research. With no need for labs or machines, it can provide a way to continuously monitor without any physical contact with the person under evaluation. (与现有检测手段结合使用时,热成像技术可能会彻底改变压力研究的格局。该技术无需实验室或复杂设备,能够以无身体接触的方式对受测者进行持续监测)”可知,热成像技术能成为压力研究领域突破性进展的原因是它可以实现持续且无接触的监测。故选C项。 35.主旨大意题。通读全文,根据第一段中的“The temperature of someone’s nose — most notably, on the tip — might be about to give us the answers we need. (人的鼻子温度——尤其是鼻尖的温度——或许即将为我们提供我们需要的答案)”可知,文章开篇点明核心观点——鼻尖温度或可成为衡量压力的新方式,后续段落围绕热成像技术的原理、优势及应用前景展开。由此可知,全文都在围绕“鼻尖温度作为压力测量新方法”这一主题。因此“The Nose Tip Temperature: A New Way to Measure Stress(鼻尖温度:一种测量压力的新方法)”概括了文章的主题,最适合作为文章标题。故选D项。 第二节(共5小题:每小题2. 5分, 满分12. 5分) 阅读下面短文, 从短文后的选项中选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。 When it comes to the question how to encourage students to achieve success, teachers may offer different answers based on their own teaching experience. 【答案】36.C 37.B 38.E 39.F 40.G 【导语】本文是一篇说明文。介绍了老师如何鼓励学生取得成功的建议。 36.根据空前“Many teachers post their class rules for all to see.(很多老师会把班级规定贴在教室的墙上,)”可知,把老师对学生的期望贴在墙上也是一个不错的主意。 C项“张贴你的期望也是一个很好的主意。”符合语境,选项中的“put up”呼应上文的post, expectations呼应标题中的expectations。故选C。 37.根据空后“Make sure that you do not show any bias (偏见) towards student’ learning.(确保不要对学生的学习有任何偏见)”以及“Be careful about the words you use and make sure that you don’t make students feel that you doubt their abilities.(注意你使用的词语,确保你不会让学生觉得你怀疑他们的能力。)”可知,本段提到不要对学生的学习有偏见,不要表现出对学生的不信任。因此B项“老师要对学生的能力持正确的态度。”符合本段主旨,故选B。 38.根据空前“If you believe that the students in your class can’t learn a subject well, they probably won’t.(如果你不相信学生可以学好一门课程,那么他们很可能真的学不好。)”可知E. The way a teacher treats students is very important.” 39.根据“Allow students the space to learn on their own.” 符合本段主旨,选项F中的become self-directed learners呼应本段主旨中的to learn on their own。故选F。 40.根据空前“You should avoid jumping right in and helping students by simply providing them with the answers to their questions.(你应该避免直接介入,通过简单地为学生提供问题的答案来帮助他们)”可知,老师们的错误做法是老师不应该直接告诉他们问题的答案。 Kids often ask Scout Bassett if she wishes she had two normal legs. Bassett answers, “No. If it weren’t for the missing leg, I wouldn’t have the 41 I have today!” What she 42 is that she has learned important lessons about 43 big challenges to reach her goals. Scout has faced big challenges. Born in China, she was left at an orphanage (孤儿院) before her first birthday. Suffering from terrible burns, her right leg was especially 44 , and was cut off below the knee. At the orphanage she had to do things with a(n) 45 leg. Then, when she was seven, a family in Michigan 46 her. Everything about her new life in the US was better. First she got a better leg. It was okay for some things, but she still couldn’t play soccer or basketball. When she was 14, she got a hightech leg made for 47 and put it to the test right away in a race for disabled athletes. “I remember being 48 because this was my first time, ” she says. “But my doctor said, ‘You have to start somewhere.’” Scout was waiting 49 for the race to start when physically disabled athlete Sarah Reinertsen came up and said, “I’ve been doing this for a while. 注意:续写词数应为150左右。 But that decision was made the moment we walked into the house. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ On Monday, my brother and I went to school. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 【答案】But that decision was made the moment we walked into the house. 词汇激活 行为类 ①鼓起勇气:gather the courage/summon the courage ②走过来:come up/come over ③对……感到自豪:be proud of/take pride in 情绪类 ①高兴的:glad/happy ②微笑:smile/beam 【点睛】【高分句型1】Gathering the courage, we told her. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 原创精品资源学科网独家享有版权,侵权必究!1 学科网(北京)股份有限公司1 / 23 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $听力考试正式开始。They may be proud of their new equipment, but i'm disappointed their nurses are not friendly and everything seems to be running behind schedule, not to mention the fact that it's noisy because no one observes visiting hours.
