As the country's first large-scale serial documentary shot in 8K ultrahigh-

Beijing satellite TV,which is in part as a celebration of the 601st anniversary of
the founding of the imperial()palace during the Ming and Qing dynasties
(1368-1911).
The documentary gathered 12 first-class singers to respectively render
(theme songs for each episode, creatively interpreting milestone
historical chapters with meaningful music.
Wu Zhiyong, the chief producer and chief director, recalled that he
visited the Forbidden City for the first time when he was a youngster,
feeling it a pity upon discovering that the guide he followed offered a flawed
introduction to the site.
"Since then I had wished for many years that I could make a
documentary toretell the real history of the Forbidden City in detail.
Luckily with the Palace Museum's support, our crew managed to learn a lot
of knowledge, interviewing many historians and shooting the most
beautiful, tranquil moments of the imperial palace,"said Wu.
The crew, consisting of nearly 150 people, had spent around three
years to conduct investigations, polishing the script with the help of more
than 30 experts from multiple departments of the Palace Museum, covering
a wide range of are as including ancient architecture, drawing and
calligraphy,court waresand royal history.
Aside from the Forbidden City, the crew-made up of three camera
teams to simultaneously work on different sites-also traveled to dozens of

Chinese history related to the stories happening inside the great palace.

Have you ever imagined that your simple T-shirt could cool you down
by up to 5C on these hot summer days? Thanks to a recent discovery, the
possibility is getting closer. While there are many alternatives that manage
to keep the body warm, this amazing invention aims to offer real relief for
those who are eager to feel comfortable and fresh in the outdoors on
extremely hot days.
Its inventors, engineers Ma Yaoguang of Zhejiang University and Tao
Guangming of Huazhong University of Science and Technology in China,
took a completely innovative approach. They designed a special textile(
物)that can absorb body heat and re-emit(重发出)its energy into space as
mid-infrared radiation(MIR).This textile cools both the objects and their
surroundings through a technique that is known as radiative cooling,
science reveals. This means that even when it looks like you are wearing a
regular shirt, you are actually wearing a device that works like a mirror.
Research conducted at Stanford University in 2017 had already
managed to cool the wearer by 3C,but this previous trial was limited. So
researchers still need to test the new approach to determine how effectively
the new fabric cools while the wearers are standing or walking, and not
directly facing the sky, like in their trials. They also need to examine and
measure how well it works when T-shirts are not inclose contact with the
skin.
Inventors Yaoguang and Guangming are now looking out for textile
manufacturers and clothing brands that are interested in using their fabric.
They estimate that the new material will increase clothing manufacturing
costs by just 10 percent."We can make it with mass production, which
means everybody can get a T-shirt and the cost is basically the same as their
old stuff,"Yaoguang said.
So if you are an athlete or simply someone that has to deal with the
extremely high temperatures,be patient because your days of feeling hot
and bothered may becoming to an end!
28.What is the purpose of the new invention?
A.To warm up people's body.
B.To cool people off in hot weather.
C.To detect the wearers'temperature.
D.To protect clothes from becoming wet.
29.How does the special product work?
A.By turning sunlight into energy.
B.By sending out absorbed heat.
C.By keeping heat out completely.
D.By using light colors to reflect sunlight.
30.What is the main idea of paragraph 3?
A.The invention needs further testing.
B.The previous studies lack evidence.
C.The new fabric has a good cooling effect.
D.The new fabric applies to various situations.
31.Which of the following statements can best describe the invention of the
T-shirt?
A.barking up the wrong tree
B.robbing peter to pay paul
C.achieve two things atone stroke
D.putting the cart before the horse

The proposal for a new Indonesian capital city has been on the cards
ever since the country gained independence from the Dutch in 1945.The
political and economic crises which followed have long delayed the plan, but
current president,Joko Widodo, now appears determined to make the move
a reality. The government officially confirmed that the capital will be moved
from Jakarta to a new location within Kalimantan, part of the island of
Borneo in Indonesia.
A number of factors are likely to have influenced the decision to forge
(艰苦做成)ahead with the move, but it seems likely that Jakarta's
environmental problems are chief among them.Built on swampy(沼泽的)
ground,Jakarta is sinking,in some parts at a rate of 20cm a year.Experts
predict that most of northern Jakarta could sink beneath the sea by 2050.
What's more,Jakarta is rarely mentioned without reference to its extreme
levels of traffic jamsand air pollution. There could be other reasons too.
John McCarthy,an expert on land use in Kalimantan at the Australian
National University Crawford School points to a potential desire to spread
wealth throughout Indonesia."Jakarta is the most highly developed core of
Indonesia which sucks all the money and opportunities from other are as,"
he says."I think there's logic in splitting the economic and political
capital.”
But the location of this new political center is proving controversial.
Some environmental groups are concerned that the chosen location in East
Kalimantan will increase logging and destruction of nearby forests, home to
orangutans and other endangered species.Indonesia's planning minister
previously told reporters that the new capital will be a sustainable "forest

city"that won't result in the destruction of protected forest, but how
exactly this would work has not yet been explained.
Despite these challenges, the government is now putting its plan in
motion. But even if this new capital is built,Jakarta will still need
protection.Home toten million people, the city simply can'tbe neglected.
32.What is the Indonesian government's new plan?
A.Building a forest city.
B.Electing a new president.
C.Relocating the capital city.

33.What may be the main reason for the government's decision?
A.To reduce land pollution.
B.To make full use of swampy ground.
C.To seek better living environment.
D.To balance the economic growth between cities.
34.What worries some people about the government's choice?
A.It may costa lot of money.

D.It may lead the decline of the old capital city.
35.What is the suitable title for the passage?

W:Good morning, everyone.Today we're going to look at the wide differences in family life between the rich
and the poor in victorian times.Let's begin with the upper classes. In victorian times, the upper classes
made up less than 3%of the population, yet held more than 90%of the country's wealth. Most of their
servants were very poorly paid, but were always living in the homes of upper-class victorian families,so they
高考总复习·滚动综合卷·英语(一)·答案2
didn't have to pay for housing, food and clothing. The money which they did earn, they sent to their
families. Many servants came from the countryside.Among them were cooks, cleaners, gardeners and soon.
The family would also employ a child's nurse whose main role was to care for the children. She was
responsible for teaching the children how to behave and taking care of them when they were ill.Nurses did
not, however, educate the children.Generally, children from wealthy families didn't attend school outside
the family home.Tutors would come to the house to do this. Now,the victorian upper-classes have the
reputation of being quite cruel;but this wasn't always the case. They were also quite generous. Some
schools were set up with money from the upperclasses so that poor children could have some form of
education.Additionally, most victorian parents were very proud of their children. This goes against the
common idea that parents were very strict with their children. In fact, the opposite was generally the rule.
However, the situation for lower-class families was very different.Let'shave a look.

第一节
One possible version:
Dear Kate,
It's a great idea to make a collection of our English essays. This compilation will surely be a wonderful
showcase of our English learning achievements.I have a suggestion that might enhance the overall quality of
thiscollection-adding relevant pictures.
Pictures can play a vital role in making the essays more engaging. For example,if an essay is about a travel
experience,a vivid picture of the described scenery can bring the story to life, helping readers better visualize the
places and emotions.
I'm quite interested in contributing to this project. As I have been learning drawing for years and have a
good command of various drawing techniques,I believe I can create pictures that perfectly match the themes of
theessays.
Looking forward to your reply.
Yours,
Li Hua
