Post-writing 04 Post-writing My favourite painter My favourite painter is Qi Baishi, a great Chinese painter. He was born in 1864 in Xiangtan, Hunan Province. Later he lived and worked in Beijing, and he painted almost every day until he died at the age of 93. Qi began painting when he was very young. He painted in a traditional Chinese style, but his paintings were always full of life. He often painted shrimps, insects, flowers and landscapes. His Shrimp is one of his best-known works. The shrimps in it look so lively that they seem to swim on the paper. I love Qi Baishi's paintings because they find beauty in everyday things. He once said that the beauty of art lies between likeness and unlikeness. His love for simple life teaches me to look at the world with careful eyes.
