All that is required is a bit of imagination and some time. And the best part is that these are the kind of fun and family memories that a kid will remember for a lifetime. Family Game Night Kids often get games for Christmas or birthdays, and would love to have a chance to play with their family or make up some games of their own. Charades (猜字谜游戏) is a fun game that will challenge kids to use their imagination. Divide the family into teams and let each team come up with words and the other has to act out. Family Art Time Pick some time for the family to sit down and come up with their own art. It doesn’t need to be just a drawing — take some old magazines, let the kids cut out pictures and paste them into their own shape. Or let them use leaves, branches and whatever else they can find to make something from their imagination. Family Picnic Taking the family for a picnic is a great way for some fun that doesn’t cost any money. If the weather is nice, take them to a park or playground and let them have a day of playing. Family Field Trip A family field trip doesn’t have to cost a cent. Ask a nearby farm if you can bring your kids out for a tour and to see some of the animals. Or take them to a park to find certain items from nature. Ask a local business if you could bring the family for a tour to see how things work — you might be surprised at the number of people who would be excited to share what they do with others, and it could be an interesting lesson for kids. 21.(2.5分)What are kids supposed to do when playing the game charades? A.Prepare some cakes for each other. B.Be quick to follow others’ actions. C.Sing a song for each other in turn. D.Connect actions with certain words. 22.(2.5分)What can be inferred from the last paragraph? A.It costs a lot to visit a park for a family. B.You may share your own experience with workers. C.You should ask for permission from the farm owner. D.All the people will be excited to share what they have with you. 23.(2.5分)Whom is the passage mainly intended for? A.Teachers. B.Parents. C.Tourists. D.Teenagers. 根据Family Game Night部分“Charades (猜字谜游戏) is a fun game that will challenge kids to use their imagination. Divide the family into teams and let each team come up with words and the other has to act out.(猜字谜游戏是一种有趣的游戏,能激发孩子们的想象力。将家庭成员分成两组,一组想词,另一组要把词表演出来)”可知,在玩字谜游戏时,孩子们应该把动作和特定的单词联系起来。 22.推理判断题。根据Family Field Trip部分“Ask a nearby farm if you can bring your kids out for a tour and to see some of the animals. (问问附近的农场,你是否可以带你的孩子出去参观,看看一些动物)”可推知,你应该征求农场主人的同意。 23.推理判断题。根据第一段“There are many fun, free activities that you can do as a family. All that is required is a bit of imagination and some time. (有很多有趣且免费的活动可供全家一起开展。只需要一点想象力和时间)”以及下文反复出现的Kids、family可知,这篇文章主要介绍了几个以家庭为单位的免费活动,这些活动能带给参与的孩子更多的乐趣和回忆,由此可推知,这篇文章主要是写给父母的。 (本题10分)Joe and Arthur were twin brothers. Joe thought red, the color of Liverpool FC, was great, while Arthur, born a few seconds earlier, believed blue, the color of Everton FC, was much better. This silly argument about football teams happened almost every day, which annoyed their mother a lot. One Saturday afternoon, the two boys were playing football with friends on an open space by the roadside, when a car suddenly turned a corner at high speed, hit the kerb, and knocked down four children, including the twins. Both were rushed to hospital. Arthur was only slightly hurt, but Joe took a heavy blow to the head and fell into unconsciousness. After an uncomfortable night, Arthur was allowed to go home the next day. However, instead of resting, he went straight to Joe’s room. He took Joe’s red pyjama (睡衣裤) out from under the pillow. “He’ll need it,” Arthur told his mother with his voice trembling. “It’ll make him better. I want him home.” Their mother took the item to the hospital and dressed Joe in the red pyjama. The following day, Arthur returned, wearing one of Joe’s red shirts. He sat beside his brother’s bed, held Joe’s hand, and began to sing “You’ll Never Walk Alone” softly to wake his brother up, saying he would never argue again. Suddenly, Joe’s face turned. He opened his eyes, looked at Arthur, and smiled weakly. “It’s only a game,” he whispered. “I’ll always love you, too.” The doctor arrived and, after a quick examination, announced that Joe was recovering. A week later, Joe fully recovered. One day, before going to watch a match with their father, he received a Liverpool badge from Arthur, who wished his team good luck. Joe waved back and said, “Thanks. And I hope your blue team does well today. You sing beautifully, you know.” Watching them from the window, their mother was moved to tears. She knew the twin brothers would always stand by each other, for they would never walk alone. 24.(2.5分)What can we know about the twins? A.They were young football players. B.They liked different football teams. C.They were fond of the same color. D.They often argued with their mother. 25.(2.5分)Why did Arthur take Joe’s red pajama out? A.To help Joe look after it. B.To make Joe more attractive. C.To hide it away from Joe. D.To offer Joe moral support. 26.(2.5分)What happened to the twins after Joe returned home? A.They started to live alone. B.They stopped playing football. C.They watched matches together. D.They became friendlier to each other. 27.(2.5分)What does the story show? A.Health is priceless. B.Time heals all wounds. C.Family love matters most. D.There will be a turning point. 根据第一段中“Joe thought red, the color of Liverpool FC, was great, while Arthur, born a few seconds earlier, believed blue, the color of Everton FC, was much better. (Joe认为红色——利物浦队的颜色——很棒,而早出生几秒的Arthur认为蓝色——埃弗顿队的颜色——要好得多。)”可知,这对双胞胎喜欢不同的足球队。 25.推理判断题。根据第三段中“He took Joe’s red pyjama (睡衣裤) out from under the pillow. “He’ll need it,” Arthur told his mother with his voice trembling. “It’ll make him better. I want him home.” (他把Joe的红色睡衣裤从枕头底下拿出来。Arthur用颤抖的声音告诉母亲:“他会需要它的。这会让他好起来。我想让他回家。”)”和第四段中“The following day, Arthur returned, wearing one of Joe’s red shirts. He sat beside his brother’s bed, held Joe’s hand, and began to sing “You’ll Never Walk Alone” softly to wake his brother up, saying he would never argue again. (第二天,Arthur回来了,穿着Joe的一件红衬衫。他坐在哥哥的床边,握着Joe的手,开始轻声唱《你永远不会独行》来叫醒哥哥,并说他再也不会争吵了。)”可知,Arthur拿出Joe的红色睡衣是为了给Joe精神上的支持。 26.推理判断题。根据第五段“A week later, Joe fully recovered. One day, before going to watch a match with their father, he received a Liverpool badge from Arthur, who wished his team good luck. Joe waved back and said, “Thanks. And I hope your blue team does well today. You sing beautifully, you know.” (一周后,Joe完全康复了。有一天,在和父亲一起去看比赛之前,他收到了Arthur送的一枚利物浦队徽,Arthur祝愿他的球队好运。Joe挥手回应道:“谢谢。我也希望你今天支持的蓝色球队表现出色。你知道吗,你唱歌很好听。”)”可知,Joe回家后兄弟俩相互祝对方支持的球队好运,不再争论,说明他们对彼此更加友好了。 27.推理判断题。通读全文,结合最后一段中“Watching them from the window, their mother was moved to tears. She knew the twin brothers would always stand by each other, for they would never walk alone. (他们的母亲从窗户里看到这一幕,感动得热泪盈眶。她知道这对双胞胎兄弟永远会彼此支持,因为他们永远不会独行。)”可知,文章通过讲述兄弟俩从为球队争吵到在危难时刻互相支持的故事,展现了家庭之爱的重要性。 (本题10分)Cinco de Mayo is probably the holiday most often celebrated that no one understands. Literally (根据字面意思) “Fifth of May”, Cinco de Mayo is a Mexican holiday celebrating the Battle of Puebla, which took place on May 5, 1862. In 1861, France sent a big army to invade Mexico, as they wanted to collect some war debts. The French army was much larger, better trained and equipped than the Mexicans struggling to defend (保卫) the road to Mexico City. The French army reached Puebla, where the Mexicans won a huge victory. The victory was shortlived, as the French army regrouped and continued, and eventually took Mexico City, but the joy of an unlikely victory against France is remembered every May fifth. Mexico celebrates its independence on September 16, because it was on that day in 1810 that Miguel Hidalgo invited his people to take up arms and join him in fighting against Spanish rulers. Independence Day is a much more important holiday in Mexico. For some reason, Cinco de Mayo is celebrated more in the United States of America, by Mexicans and Americans alike, than it is in Mexico. One theory for why it is more popular in the USA is that at one time, it was celebrated in all of Mexico and by Mexicans living in former Mexican areas such as Texas and California. It was ignored in Mexico after a while but still celebrated in the north of the border, which never got out of the habit of remembering the famous battle. In Puebla and in many American cities with large Mexican populations, there are parades, dancing and festivals. Traditional Mexican food is often served or sold. Mariachi (街头音乐) bands fill town squares, and a lot of beers are served. It’s a fun holiday, really more about celebrating the Mexican way of life than about remembering the battle which happened 157 years ago. In the USA, schoolchildren decorate their classrooms and try their hand at cooking some basic Mexican food. All over the world, Mexican restaurants bring in mariachi bands and offer specials for what’s almost certain to be a packed house. 28.(2.5分)Why do more Americans celebrate Cinco de Mayo? A.Some American areas once belonged to Mexico. B.Americans are influenced by Mexican culture. C.Mexicans don’t form the habit of having a holiday. D.Many Mexicans value Independence Day. 29.(2.5分)How can schoolchildren celebrate Cinco de Mayo? A.By performing music at restaurants. B.By trying making some Mexican food. C.By turning the classroom into a battlefield. D.By offering special gifts to their teachers. 30.(2.5分)By celebrating Cinco de Mayo, people mainly show ________. A.where the history is honored most B.what special customs they have C.how Mexicans gained independence D.who should be remembered forever 31.(2.5分)According to the passage, people celebrate Cinco de Mayo because Mexicans ________. A.paid off their war debts B.succeeded in defending Mexico City C.gained independence from Spanish D.defeated the French army in Puebla 【答案】28.A 29.B 30.B 31.D 【导语】本文是一篇说明文。 根据第三段中“One theory for why it is more popular in the USA is that at one time, it was celebrated in all of Mexico and by Mexicans living in former Mexican areas such as Texas and California. (为什么它在美国更受欢迎的一个理论是,有一段时间,整个墨西哥以及生活在德克萨斯州和加利福尼亚州等前墨西哥地区的墨西哥人都会庆祝这个节日。)”可知,更多的美国人庆祝Cinco de Mayo是因为美国的德克萨斯州和加利福尼亚州等地区之前属于墨西哥,那里的墨西哥人会庆祝这个节日,即因为一些美国地区曾经属于墨西哥。故选A项。 29. 根据最后一段中“In the USA, schoolchildren decorate their classrooms and try their hand at cooking some basic Mexican food. (在美国,学生们装饰他们的教室,并尝试自己做一些基本的墨西哥食物。)”可知,学生们可以通过尝试做一些墨西哥食物来庆祝这个节日。故选B项。 30.细节理解题。根据最后一段中“It’s a fun holiday, really more about celebrating the Mexican way of life than about remembering the battle which happened 157 years ago. (这是一个有趣的节日,更多的是庆祝墨西哥人的生活方式,而不是纪念157年前发生的那场战争。)”可知,人们在这个节日更多的是庆祝墨西哥人的生活方式,也就是展示他们特殊的风俗习惯。故选B项。 31.细节理解题。根据第二段中“Literally (根据字面意思) “Fifth of May”, Cinco de Mayo is a Mexican holiday celebrating the Battle of Puebla, which took place on May 5, 1862. (字面意思是“五月五日”,Cinco de Mayo是墨西哥的节日,庆祝1862年5月5日发生的普埃布拉战役。)”和“The French army reached Puebla, where the Mexicans won a huge victory. The victory was shortlived, as the French army regrouped and continued, and eventually took Mexico City, but the joy of an unlikely victory against France is remembered every May fifth. (法国军队到达了普埃布拉,墨西哥人在那里取得了巨大的胜利。这场胜利是短暂的,因为法国军队重新集结并继续前进,最终占领了墨西哥城,但每年的5月5日,人们都会记住这场对法国不太可能的胜利带来的喜悦。)”可知,人们庆祝这个节日是因为墨西哥人曾在历史上的这一天在普埃布拉击败了法国军队。故选D项。 (本题10分)Children with strong family connections are associated with a high likelihood of flourishing in life, a study found. “What is different about this study is that it shows that family connection is associated with thriving and not just surviving or avoiding harm,” said lead study author Dr. Robert Whitaker. Researchers surveyed over 37,000 children in 26 countries. In the study, family connection was determined by a mean score of five categories: care, support, safety, respect, and participation. Flourishing was determined by a mean score of six categories: self-acceptance, purpose in life, positive relations with others, personal growth, environmental mastery and autonomy. The essence of family connection is children feeling that they are accepted and cared for at home, which allows them to learn what their strengths and weaknesses are in a safe environment as they are building their identity, Whitaker said. Children with the greatest level of family connection were over 49% more likely to flourish compared with those with the lowest level of family connection, according to the study. The highest scores in both family connection and flourishing came from children who said they lived with both parents, had enough food or never had their family worrying about finances. Researchers then controlled the data for families’ poverty levels to remove the effect they might have had on the numbers. After controlling the data, the strength of family connection still impacted how much children flourished. According to Whitaker, adults have a very powerful influence on the emotional climate in the home, so it’s important to create a space where children feel seen and heard. A great opportunity to strengthen family bonds is around the dinner table. Adults should create an environment where children feel comfortable speaking freely. While they are talking, grown-ups should show that they have a genuine interest in what their children are saying. Silence is also another powerful form of communication, Whitaker said. Children and parents spending time together in silence or even doing chores can create a connection. 32.(2.5分)What is the study mainly about? A.The importance of family connection to children’s survival. B.The relationship between family connection and children’s success. C.The factors affecting children’ s self-acceptance. D.The impact of poverty on children’s development. 33.(2.5分)Who are more likely to achieve high scores in both family connection and flourishing? A.Children who live with a single parent. B.Children who have enough food and money. C.Children who know of their strengths and weaknesses. D.Children who have a whole family and economic security. 34.(2.5分)Which of the following might be an influencing factor in the result? A.Family income. B.Parents’ educational level. C.Children’s age and gender. D.The number of people in the family. 35.(2.5分)What is the most suitable title for the passage? A.Family Connection and Child Survival B.Poverty’s Effect on Child Development C.Family Dynamics and Children’s Self-Esteem D.Family Connection and Child Flourishing 【答案】32.B 33.D 34.A 35.D 【导语】这是一篇说明文,文章介绍了一项关于家庭联系与儿童发展的研究。 根据第一段“What is different about this study is that it shows that family connection is associated with thriving and not just surviving or avoiding harm(这项研究的不同之处在于,它表明家庭联系与小孩茁壮成长获得成功相关,而不仅仅是与生存或避免伤害相关)”,由此可知,这项研究的主要内容是家庭关系和孩子的成功之间的关系。故选B。 33. 根据第三段“The highest scores in both family connection and flourishing came from children who said they lived with both bar rents, had enough food or never had their family worrying about finances(在家庭联系和幸福感方面得分最高的孩子是那些表示与双亲同住、食物充足或从未让家人担心财务问题的孩子)”可知,有完整的家庭和经济保障的孩子们更有可能在家庭关系和个人发展两方面都获得高分。故选D。 34. 根据第三段“Researchers then controlled the data for families’ poverty levels to remove the effect they might have had on the numbers(研究人员随后对数据进行了控制,以消除家庭贫困水平可能对数字产生的影响)”可知,研究中将家庭收入水平这个因素进行控制,因为这可能是影响研究结果的因素。故选A。 35. 这篇说明文围绕第一段的研究发现“Children with strong family connections are associated with a high likelihood of flourishing in life, a study found(研究发现,与家庭关系紧密的孩子在生活中蓬勃发展的可能性较高)”展开,主要介绍这一结论如何得出及该结论对父母的意义。 (本题12.5分)Last night walking home after dinner, I looked up at the sky and held my breath. It was not a crazy orange sunset, but the clouds above were full in purple and gray. 36(2.5分) I have been thinking about “plant blindness” lately, a term coined by botanists meaning “the inability to see or notice the plants in one’s environment.” So I couldn’t help wondering if there’s a similar term for being “blind to clouds”. The consequences of plant blindness are troubling, but it seems many people fail to appreciate the natural world at large. 37(2.5分) I fail to notice such beauty too. Now I live in a city where people are busy with “more important things” than observing nature, let alone the clouds. Fortunately, my city has many urban trees and greenspaces, but that helps little when we’re stuck indoors. That’s when cloudspotting comes in. It is an ever-changing show up there. Some days are cloudless, but on days when clouds appear, what an unusual sight! 38(2.5分) They come in endless patterns, sometimes soft, sometimes covering the sky like lace. They form creatures and tell stories, all right above our heads. 39(2.5分) I mean, it’s probably good that we are not, but you know what I mean. Many studies have shown the benefits of being in nature for mind and body. Though most research centers on greenery, I believe watching clouds must also be helpful. If nothing else, it’s a time for thinking, mindfulness and meditation. In this fast-paced world, getting lost in the clouds, even for a few minutes, is a simple and welcome relief. 40(2.5分) A.Why aren’t we looking up all the time? B.Why do we miss such wonderful natural scenes around us? C.Clearly, ignoring the beauty above us is far from a good thing. D.They were floating in waves of soft pink, looking so impressive. E.Watching clouds can make people forget worries and calm down. F.Look up and always remember to live with your head in the clouds! G.They come in shifting shapes and sizes, creating layers at different speeds. 根据上文“Last night walking home after dinner, I looked up at the sky and held my breath. It was not a crazy orange sunset, but the clouds above were full in purple and gray.(昨晚晚饭后回家的路上,我抬头望向天空,屏住了呼吸。那并不是绚烂的橙红色落日,而是头顶的云层布满了紫色和灰色)”可知,空前描述天空中云是紫灰色的,D项“它们漂浮在柔和的粉红色波浪中,看起来非常壮观”承接云的外观,补充其漂浮在柔粉色浪涛中的动人状态,衔接自然。 37.根据上文“The consequences of plant blindness are troubling, but it seems many people fail to appreciate the natural world at large.(植物盲的后果令人担忧,但似乎很多人并不懂得欣赏整个自然世界)”以及后文“I fail to notice such beauty too. Now I live in a city where people are busy with “more important things” than observing nature, let alone the clouds. Fortunately, my city has many urban trees and greenspaces, but that helps little when we’re stuck indoors. That’s when cloudspotting comes in.(我也未曾留意过这样的美景。如今我生活的城市里,人们都忙于做比观察自然“更重要的事”,更不用说留意云朵了。幸运的是,我的城市有许多城市树木和绿地,但当我们被困在室内时,这些却帮不上大忙。这时,观云便派上了用场)”可知,前文指出很多人无法欣赏整个自然世界,C项“显然,忽视我们头顶的美景绝非好事”引出后文“我也常会忽略这类美景”的内容,逻辑连贯。 38.根据后文“They come in endless patterns, sometimes soft, sometimes covering the sky like lace. They form creatures and tell stories, all right above our heads.(它们以无穷无尽的图案出现,有时柔和,有时如蕾丝般覆盖天空。它们化作生物,讲述着故事,就在我头顶上方)”可知,空后介绍云的多样形态,G项“它们的形状和大小不断变化,以不同速度形成层叠状态”说明云有着不断变化的形状大小、以不同速度形成层次,和后文对云形态的描述呼应。 39.根据后文“I mean, it’s probably good that we are not, but you know what I mean. Many studies have shown the benefits of being in nature for mind and body. Though most research centers on greenery, I believe watching clouds must also be helpful.(我是说,我们不这样可能挺好,但你明白我的意思。许多研究都表明,身处大自然对身心都有益处。虽然大多数研究关注的是绿植,但我认为观察云朵也一定有帮助)”可知,后文补充“我们一直抬头可能反倒不妥,但你懂我的意思”,A项“我们为什么不一直抬头呢?”可引出该补充说明,下文的it指代“looking up all the time”。 40.根据上文“If nothing else, it’s a time for thinking, mindfulness and meditation. In this fast-paced world, getting lost in the clouds, even for a few minutes, is a simple and welcome relief.(至少,这是一个适合思考、保持觉知和冥想的时刻。在这个快节奏的世界里,哪怕只是几分钟,让自己沉浸于云雾之中,也是一种简单而令人欣慰的解脱)”可知,尾段介绍观云的治愈作用,F项发出呼吁“抬头看看,永远记得要心怀浪漫、惬意生活吧!”收束得当。 三、完形填空 (本题15分)My childhood pediatrician (儿科医生) has died recently, who was also my father’s pediatrician. But Shreya thought learning to cook was not so important. Besides, she was not good at it so she was not active. But anyway, she should follow her mother, she thought. Shreya went to the kitchen and watched her mother cooking Margherita, which was her favorite food. Her mother’s hands moved skillfully, measuring the ingredients (配料) with practiced ease. “The secret is to let the ingredients mix properly,” her mother explained. That night, Shreya attempted for the first time. The kitchen smelled wonderful, but the taste was… off. She said sadly, “No dish I put together will taste as good as what my mother cooks.” She thought cooking was too hard for her and decided to give up, thinking that she could depend on dining in a canteen in university. Then one day, she visited her grandmother, whose kadju curry always tasted so good. Besides, Shreya really enjoyed listening to her grandmother’s gentle words. Her grandmother insisted on teaching her, saying, “Cooking isn’t just about food; it is about valuable memories. Besides, kadju curry is much easier than your mother’s Margherita. I’m sure you can make it.” She handed her hand-written recipe book to Shreya so that Shreya could also take notes. While her grandmother worked, she wrote everything in the recipe book. She noticed the care in every step. The potatoes were cut just right, the yogurt added slowly, and the spices bloomed (绽放) in perfect harmony. “See, Shreya?” her grandmother said. “It’s not just about the recipe. It’s about the love you put into it.” Armed with this wisdom, Shreya tried making kadju curry. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ With the recipe book in hand, Shreya boarded the plane. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 【答案】范文 Armed with this wisdom, Shreya tried making kadju curry. When the curry was done, she held her breath as she tasted it. It was close to the one her grandmother made. She felt very happy. As Shreya prepared to leave for university, her mother handed her a small box. Inside was her grandmother’s handwritten recipe book, now filled with Shreya’s own notes. “Take this with you,” her mother said softly. “Whenever you miss home, you can make a little piece for yourself.” With the recipe book in hand, Shreya boarded the plane. Week in and week out, she began to miss her grandmother’s kadju curry. So she took out the recipe book and started to cook, with care and love. She made it! She shared her food with her friends. As they tasted, their faces lit up with delight. “This tastes like home” one exclaimed. Shreya smiled, realizing the truth. Cooking was about sharing love and preserving memories. As she looked through her recipe book, she knew she was carrying the heart of her family with her. 词汇激活 行为类 ①品尝:taste/savour ②前往:leave for/depart to ③意识到:realize/be aware of 情绪类 ①高兴:happy/delighted ②爱:love/affection 【点睛】[高分句型1] When the curry was done, she held her breath as she tasted it.(运用了when引导时间状语从句) [高分句型2] As she looked through her recipe book, she knew she was carrying the heart of her family with her.(运用了as引导时间状语从句,省略了that的宾语从句) 2 / 2 2 / 2 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $听力考试正式开始。Hi tom. (本题10分)Joe and Arthur were twin brothers. A.paid off their war debts B.succeeded in defending Mexico City C.gained independence from Spanish D.defeated the French army in Puebla (本题10分)Children with strong family connections are associated with a high likelihood of flourishing in life, a study found. A.Family Connection and Child Survival B.Poverty’s Effect on Child Development C.Family Dynamics and Children’s Self-Esteem D.Family Connection and Child Flourishing (本题12.5分)Last night walking home after dinner, I looked up at the sky and held my breath. 三、完形填空 (本题15分)My childhood pediatrician (儿科医生) has died recently, who was also my father’s pediatrician. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 2 / 2 2 / 2 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $
