(本题10分)Joy Chapman, 70, retired (退休) from work in 2018 but decided she’d never become a “boring” granny. She joined a local gym and got herself a hard exercise schedule which sees her in the gym every day for two and a half hours. She said, “I was afraid of turning 70, but I don’t feel my age at all.”
As her confidence in the gym improved, she hardly spent a day without going to the gym. “When I first started, I would come home feeling tired,” she said. “Every muscle ached, but as I progressed, my health levels improved and I got better. I would never have believed in 100 years that I would love the gym so much.”
Joy said, “Exercising and staying healthy stops things from getting me down.” The granny has been longing for living since losing her husband in 2011, when he was just 58 — making Joy realise life is valuable. She said, “My husband died very young and very quickly. He became ill in February, was diagnosed (诊断) in March and died on April 22. No one could believe it. Everybody was shocked at his death. When he died, it made me think deeply of my life and I am quite a confident and strong person as a result.”
Every day when she exercises, Joy meets up with a group of friends who help keep her young. She said, “I’ve made good friends. As soon as I walked into the gym, the receptionists, the trainers, the cleaners — everyone showed friendly humour. They all think I’m mad, but in a nice way. I’m the healthiest granny in the town.
根据第一段“She joined a local gym and got herself a hard exercise schedule which sees her in the gym every day for two and a half hours. She said, “I was afraid of turning 70, but I don’t feel my age at all.”(她加入了当地一家健身房,为自己制订了严格的锻炼计划,每天要在健身房锻炼两个半小时。
根据第二段“As her confidence in the gym improved, she hardly spent a day without going to the gym.(随着她在健身房的信心不断提升,她几乎一天都离不开健身房了。)”和“I would never have believed in 100 years that I would love the gym so much.”(我之前无论如何都想不到,我会这么热爱健身房。)

(本题10分)Students in Camarillo high school are getting a real hands-on (实际操作的) education, thanks to an unusual farm program. They aren’t just learning about farm animals. They’re raising them! This is the only high school in the country that raises its own animals on campus.
Addisyn Bolles has been feeding the Great Hambino — her 202-pound pig in person since it was a baby pig. “I’ve learned a lot from this program. Caring for this animal makes me responsible for another life, and this experience helps prepare me for life in many ways,” said Bolles. “In this program, we join textbook knowledge with real-life practice. In the classroom, students learn about how to raise animals, and then they can step outside and directly use what they’re learning,” said teacher Breanna Cole.
There’s no sleeping in for these students. They are up early, feeding, walking and cleaning their animals in preparation to show them at the County Fair “It seems like a lot of work, and you do put a lot of time and effort into it. But it’s a great comfort at the end of the busy day, sitting quietly with the animals away from hard work, especially when you just need some quiet time to unwind,” said Nevach Cornish, a student from the school. Getting to the Fair makes all those early morning feedings worth it. “It’s really cool because at the Fair you get to meet new people, and you can get a connection with them and exchange ideas,” said Julia Santos, another student from the school.
This Camarillo high school farm program isn’t just an extra class — it’s a life-shaping experience that turns textbook lessons into real doing, responsibility and joy. It’s the kind of learning more schools should look to, proving education can grow just as strongly on the farm as it does in a classroom.
What makes the school special?
A.It develops students’ life skills.
B.It has many after-school activities.
C.It allows students to keep animals at school.
D.It mainly offers lessons about farm animals.
How does the program influence the students?
A.They prefer feeding animals to studying.
B.They are too busy to develop other hobbies.
C.They have a chance to put what they learn into use.
D.They can better understand the meaning of teamwork.
What does the underlined word “unwind” mean?
A.Compete. B.Relax. C.Hurry up. D.Keep on.
What can we infer from the last paragraph?
A.Most schools will set up farm programs soon.
B.Farm education will replace traditional classes.
C.Students can only learn responsibility from farm work.
D.Farm-based learning is as valuable as classroom learning.
根据第一段“Students in Camarillo high school are getting a real hands-on (实际操作的) education, thanks to an unusual farm program. They aren’t just learning about farm animals. They’re raising them! This is the only high school in the country that raises its own animals on campus.
根据第二段“In this program, we join textbook knowledge with real-life practice. In the classroom, students learn about how to raise animals, and then they can step outside and directly use what they’re learning
根据第三段“But it’s a great comfort at the end of the busy day, sitting quietly with the animals away from hard work, especially when you just need some quiet time to unwind (但在忙碌一天结束后,远离繁重劳作,安静陪着动物会让人十分舒心,尤其是当你需要一段安静的时光来____的时候)”可知,at the end of the busy day、away from hard work、need some quiet time都指向“忙碌后需要放松、解压”,因此unwind跟“Relax (放松)”意义相近。
根据最后一段“This Camarillo high school farm program isn’t just an extra class — it’s a life-shaping experience that turns textbook lessons into real doing, responsibility and joy. It’s the kind of learning more schools should look to, proving education can grow just as strongly on the farm as it does in a classroom.
(本题10分)In the age of fast-developing social media, many young people are used to “fast socializing”: adding hundreds of friends online, sending quick, empty greetings, and joining endless, meaningless group chats. Some young people even have thousands of online friends, but can’t find a single person to talk to when they are in a bad mood. But in recent years, more and more young people in China are turning to “slow socializing” and choosing to give up those meaningless social connections.
Slow socializing means building deep, long-term relationships with a small group of like-minded people, instead of making a large number of “friends” online. It focuses on true and deep communication, rather than the number of online followers or likes on posts. For example, instead of sending a copied holiday greeting to hundreds of people, you have a long face-to-face talk with a close friend, or read a book together with a person who shares the same interest.
Many young people say fast socializing only brings them growing pressure and a sense of emptiness. They have to spend a lot of time keeping online connections, but still feel lonely and helpless when they meet real trouble. On the contrary, slow socializing brings them a strong sense of safety and belonging (归属感). They no longer care about the number of friends, but focus on building real, heart-to-heart connections with people who truly understand them. A 2025 national survey found that over 68% of young people aged 16-25 prefer slow socializing, and most of them have a healthier mind than those who prefer fast socializing.
I believe that slow socializing is not refusing to make friends, but choosing the right way to connect with others. In a fast-paced society, it helps young people focus on the people and things that really matter.
What is a key feature of slow socializing?
A.It focuses on true communication.
B.It needs a lot of online followers.
C.It happens in holiday greetings.
D.It requires a large friend circle.
What does the 2025 survey show?
A.Fast socializing makes young people popular.
B.Most young people hate online socializing.
C.Slow socializing is good for young people’s minds.
D.Less than half of young people prefer slow socializing.
What is the writer’s attitude towards slow socializing?
A.Doubtful. B.Supportive. C.Disapproving. D.Uncaring.
What is the main idea of the text?
A.The harm of social media to young people.
B.The ways to reduce social pressure.
C.The importance of true friendship.
D.The rise and value of slow socializing.
【答案】32.A 33.C 34.B 35.D
根据第二段“Slow socializing means building deep, long-term relationships with a small group of like-minded people, instead of making a large number of “friends” online. It focuses on true and deep communication, rather than the number of online followers or likes on posts.
根据第三段“A 2025 national survey found that over 68% of young people aged 16-25 prefer slow socializing, and most of them have a healthier mind than those who prefer fast socializing.
根据第四段“I believe that slow socializing is not refusing to make friends, but choosing the right way to connect with others. In a fast-paced society, it helps young people focus on the people and things that really matter.
根据第一段“But in recent years, more and more young people in China are turning to “slow socializing” and choosing to give up those meaningless social connections.

D选项“Besides, you will learn new skills from after-school activities.
40.由上文“Most importantly, participating in after-school activities gives you an opportunity to spend time with your friends as well as make new ones. Your participation often means you have a shared interest, such as volunteering or playing a sport. G选项“That can make it easier to be friends because you have something in common.

56.behavior/behaviour 57. patient 58.extremely 59.going 60.themselves 61.to learn 62.in 63.what 64.means 65.which
故填behavior/behaviour。
这里考查be eager to do sth,表“渴望做某事”,为固定搭配。故填to learn。
故填in。
故填what。
分析句型可知,此处“ 10 is a necessary basis of setting up a good teacher-student relationship”在句中做非限制性定语从句,先行词为前面句子,在从句中作主语,所以应用关系代词which。故填which。

Class Farm Plots in Our School
Have you noticed the new green patches on campus? They are our class farm plots, a fantastic project where each class can grow its own plants.
This project is truly valuable in two key ways. Firstly, it turns textbooks into reality. By planting and caring for crops, we apply biology and chemistry knowledge firsthand, making learning active and unforgettable. Secondly, it teaches beyond the classroom. The process fosters responsibility, patience, and teamwork as we nurture life together.
These small plots are a big step for our growth. Let’s all get involved, get our hands dirty, and watch both the plants and ourselves flourish!

It was the day of the big science fair. Students from seven different primary schools in and around the small town were setting up their projects and reviewing their presentations. I looked around and finally spotted Lily, who was standing by herself off to the side by a bookshelf. She was small for her age. Her usual bright-eyed enthusiasm was absent today. I walked over and asked her why she wasn’t with the other children. She hesitated and then said she had decided not to present.
What was wrong? She had worked so hard for this event!
I quickly searched the crowd for the school’s science teacher and asked him what had happened. “I was afraid that kids from other schools would make fun of her project,” he explained uncomfortably. “I gave her the choice to present or not, and let her decide.”
I bit back my frustration. I knew the teacher meant well — he thought he was doing the right thing. After making sure that Lily could present if she wanted, I turned to find her coming towards me, her small body carrying a science project that reflected her hard work and dedication.
Lily had a speech impediment which prevented her from speaking as clearly as other children, but at school her classmates thought of her as a regular kid. She always participated to the best of her ability in whatever they were doing. That was why none of the children thought it unusual that Lily had decided to join the science fair team. It just took her longer — that’s all. Lily had not missed a single practice, and although she always finished her presentation long after the other children, she did always finish. As a special education teacher at the school, I was familiar with the challenges Lily faced and was proud of her strong determination.
注意:1.续写词数应为150左右;
We sat down next to each other, but Lily wouldn’t look at me.
_________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
I watched as Lily stepped up to the podium with the other presenters.
________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
We sat down next to each other, but Lily wouldn’t look at me. I placed my hand on her shoulder. “Present to the best of your ability. I believe in you.” Her eyes widened. “I’m proud of your perseverance,” I said. She moved her lips but couldn’t articulate a word. “Will you withdraw from the presentation?” “No,” she said, eyes fixed on the podium. “Then go for it!” I encouraged her. Taking a deep breath, she regained her confidence and prepared.
I watched as Lily stepped up to the podium with the other presenters. The presentation began. The audience seemed overwhelming for Lily, who had a speech impediment. Yet she presented as if she had forgotten all her weaknesses. As the other presenters finished, I grew nervous, fearing she might be mocked. Suddenly, her classmates filled the audience, cheering her on. “Come on! We’re proud of you!” they shouted enthusiastically. Eventually, Lily made it. When she was announced as the 18th-place winner, her long-awaited smile returned. Though not the first, she proved herself strong-willed.
②退出:withdraw from/retreat from
①紧张的:nervous/uptight
②热情地:enthusiastically/passionately/fervidly
1】The audience seemed overwhelming for Lily, who had a speech impediment.(使用了who引导非限制性定语从句)
2】As the other presenters finished, I grew nervous, fearing she might be mocked.

(本题12.5分)High school students have a lot of choices for what they can do once the school day ends: they can study, do homework, participate in a sport, watch TV, work at a job, play video games, attend a club meeting and more. 36(2.5分) Spending your time after school wisely can help you become better prepared for college and your future.
Students who participate in after-school activities often perform better in class compared to those who don’t. Most importantly, participating in after-school activities gives you an opportunity to spend time with your friends as well as make new ones. Your participation often means you have a shared interest, such as volunteering or playing a sport.
A.These activities are constructive and meaningful.
B.Colleges love to see students who are active in activities.
C.Moreover, you can realize your dreams through these activities.

We sat down next to each other, but Lily wouldn’t look at me.
