Firstly, Mondays and Tuesdays will be walk-to-school days. That means everyone will go to school on foot. Anyone living far away may use public transport, but they must walk at least half a kilometer. In this way, the school not only encourages students and teachers to exercise, but it also helps to reduce air pollution. Secondly, on Wednesdays and Thursdays, all classes take turns looking after our school garden. After school finishes on Fridays, you will have the opportunity to attend lectures about the dangers our environment faces, and what the solutions are, and what we can all do to be environmentally responsible. The speakers will be either our teachers from our school or scientists from our local community. In addition, there will be a special event once every month. For example, next weekend, we are having an art exhibition. All the art students have made some fantastic things from recycled materials. This exhibition is going to be held at the school gym from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday. That’s all from me. Thank you.

(本题10分)Every morning before sunrise, Zain starts his patrol along the muddy shores of the mangrove forest in southern Malaysia. As a mangrove ranger, his job is to protect this unique coastal ecosystem. For Zain, this is not just a job; it’s a duty passed down from his father.
The work of a ranger is physically demanding and solitary. Zain walks for hours through knee-deep water, under the thick canopy of trees. He checks for signs of illegal logging, monitors the health of the trees, and records any unusual changes in the water. The silence is broken only by the calls of birds and the soft sound of his boots in the mud. He knows every creek and every tree like the back of his hand.
One afternoon, Zain noticed fresh cuts on several young trees — a sign of illegal activity. He followed the faint footprints and soon found a man gathering wood. Instead of shouting, Zain approached calmly. He explained how each cut tree weakens the forest’s defense against storms. The man, looking ashamed, put down his axe. “They are not just trees,” Zain said softly. “They are walls that protect our homes.” The man nodded silently and left, promising not to return.
Sitting on a root at the end of the day, Zain felt a deep satisfaction. He knew his work was vital. These mangrove forests were more than a workplace. They acted as a natural shield, reducing the power of waves and winds during storms and protecting the villages behind them. They were also rich nurseries for fish, supporting the livelihood of local fishermen. As the sun set, painting the sky in orange and purple, Zain smiled. His quiet watch continued, guarding the green wall between the sea and the land.

(本题10分)Local volunteer groups have become an important driving force for ecological protection on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau (高原). Many people have the wrong idea that wildlife protection only means saving one rare animal. In fact, real ecosystem protection refers to protecting whole food chains and natural habitats. A healthy ecosystem means a balance among plants, animals, and tiny living things that break down waste. Losing even one small part can cause big problems.
Volunteers in high areas do many practical field tasks. They walk into rivers to pick up floating rubbish, often filling many bags each time. They keep records of wild animal movements, writing down the types, numbers, and places. They also remove harmful plants that grow too fast and hurt local plants. Most of these volunteers are local people. They know the land well and understand seasonal changes, so they are good at outdoor work. Before they start, they receive training from environmental researchers. They learn how to recognize different animals and plants and how to use simple tools.
Working on the plateau is physically hard. The air is thin above 4,000 meters, so even walking feels tiring. Strong sunlight can hurt skin quickly. Cold winds blow often, especially in winter. But their work does not try to make fast changes. Instead, they focus on long-term watching and slow improvement. Some projects may take years to show clear results.
Local people combine their old knowledge with modern protection methods. For example, they use traditional ways of raising farm animals to avoid disturbing wildlife when they have babies. Experts say that community-led volunteer work is a useful addition to government protection programs. Government teams often work in large nature reserves, while local volunteers help in smaller, faraway places. When locals and researchers work together, they get better results for the plateau’s fragile environment.
28.(2.5分)How does the author explain “a healthy ecosystem” in Paragraph 1?
A.By giving a typical example. B.By giving a clear definition.
C.By telling a detailed story. D.By comparing diverse ideas.
29.(2.5分)What makes local people good at field work?
A.They have modern tools. B.They work for the government.

30.(2.5分)What does Paragraph 3 mainly talk about?
A.The training volunteers receive. B.The beauty of the plateau land.
C.The challenges volunteers face. D.The fast results of their work.
31.(2.5分)What’s the best structure of the passage?
A.Clarification → Actions → Difficulties → Significance
B.Concept → Examples → Comparison → Prediction
C.Background → Story → Analysis → Suggestion

(本题10分)The number of chicks in the Coulman Island emperor penguin population decreased by around 69% in 2025 compared with 2024, according to a study published in Communications Earth & Environment. The authors suggest that a large iceberg, which grounded off the island between July 2025 and January 2026, likely restricted the colony’s access to important feeding areas, demonstrating that individual iceberg movements may affect breeding (繁殖) success even when overall sea ice conditions appear favourable.
During the breeding season (between June and January), emperor penguins require both stable sea ice and reliable access to open water food sources so that adults can feed their immature chicks. Overall sea ice conditions are known to affect breeding success, but previous observations have suggested that individual large icebergs may also have an effect.
Jeong-Hoon Kim and colleagues conducted two aerial field surveys of the emperor penguin population on Coulman Island, Antarctica, in November and December 2025. They counted 6,658 live chicks — approximately 69% fewer than both the 2024 count and the 2017 — 2024 mean count (平均计数).
During field observations, the authors observed a large iceberg grounded 3 — 5 km north of the colony. Satellite imagery showed that this iceberg (about 13.9 km long and 4.0 km wide) had collapsed in March 2025, approached the colony in July, and finally grounded on 28 July, during the hatching season. The authors combined the iceberg’s positional data with a detailed model of its shape, obtained from aerial imagery collected during the survey. They suggest that the iceberg’s steep (陡峭的) southern face and its grounded position likely increased the distance penguins needed to travel to find food from around 9.3 km in 2024 to approximately 14.9 km in 2025. They propose that this increased distance contributed to the reduced breeding success in 2025.
The authors note that the study only covers a single season and that the findings are observational. However, they also suggest that while such iceberg events are unpredictable and typically temporary, future research into emperor penguin breeding should consider the role these events can play alongside broader trends.
32.(2.5分)What is special about the 2025 emperor penguin breeding failure?
A.It was caused by unstable sea-ice conditions.
B.It resulted from multiple environmental threats.
C.It occurred despite good general sea ice conditions.
D.It led to an immediate drop in adult penguin numbers.
33.(2.5分)What directly caused the sharp drop in young penguins on Coulman Island in 2025?
A.Shortage of suitable breeding grounds.
B.Frequent extreme weather in Antarctica.
C.The lack of food in the open water nearby.
D.A grounded iceberg increasing feeding distance.
34.(2.5分)What can be inferred about the study?
A.It covered the entire breeding process.
B.It confirmed icebergs as the primary threat.
C.Its conclusion requires longer-term evidence.
D.Its analysis neglected overall sea ice impacts.
35.(2.5分)What is the main purpose of the text?
A.To compare sea ice conditions across years.
B.To describe the lifestyle of emperor penguins.
C.To appeal for urgent protection of emperor penguins.
D.To present a new study on penguin breeding outcomes.
【答案】32.C 33.D 34.C 35.D

(本题12.5分)Stargazing offers a breathtaking connection to the universe, yet many people miss out on this experience due to a few easily overlooked factors. Anyone can enjoy an unforgettable journey through the universe. 36(2.5分) Avoid light pollution.
Light pollution results from the overused or poorly directed artificial light produced by cities, streetlights, buildings, and vehicles. It creates a glowing mist that hides faint stars and other objects in the sky. No stargazer wants such an obstacle to spoil the view. 37(2.5分) If you’re observing from home, consider using professional instruments that direct light downward.Consider the moon.
The moon, our closest neighbor in space, goes through a monthly cycle of phases that greatly affect stargazing conditions. The best time to observe the stars is during the new moon, when the moon is positioned between the Earth and the sun and remains invisible, leaving the sky at its darkest. 38(2.5分) Height matters.
To get a clear view of the sky, it’s important to choose a location free from surrounding buildings. 39(2.5分) If traveling to the countryside isn’t an option, try to get to a higher spot. The rooftop of a tall building, for instance, can help you rise above nearby structures and improve your view. Look for accessible buildings in your area that might offer this advantage. 40(2.5分)
Timing plays a key role in what you’ll see in the night sky. Winter generally offers the clearest skies because cold air holds less moisture-just remember to dress warmly. Summer skies bring a different set of star groups and often present a stunning view of the Milky Way. Beginners may find dusk, just after sunset, a good time to start, while serious stargazers with better equipment often prefer the late-night hours.
A.Pick the right time.
B.Take account of the season.
C.Rural areas are ideal for this.
D.All you need is a little preparation and knowledge.
E.Using a telescope can greatly enhance your viewing experience.
F.It’s best to avoid nights with a full moon for better star visibility.
G.If possible, visit a dark park that is specially meant for stargazing.

六、书面表达
67.(本题25分)阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。续写的词数应为 150 左右。
Last summer vacation, I set off on a wonderful road trip to a quiet coastal town with my grandma, a big fan of stage performances and environmental protection. Before we hit the road, she showed me a short video introducing a new Beijing Opera adapted from the world-famous play Hamlet. She told me that traditional stage art could transform boring environmental knowledge into lively stories, which would have a deep impact on ordinary people’s minds. During our drive, we passed green hills, clear rivers and endless blue sea. Grandma shared shocking facts with me: many people feared sharks only because of the old film Jaws. Yet they knew little that countless sharks lost their lives every year because of plastic pollution and shark fin hunting.
One warm afternoon, we wandered along the quiet sandy beach after lunch. Suddenly, a weak splash caught our attention. We walked closer and spotted a young shark tightly trapped in abandoned plastic fishing nets. It struggled painfully in shallow water, one fin badly wounded, and pieces of plastic rubbish wrapped around its whole body. My heart sank the moment I saw its helpless eyes. Grandma sighed and reminded me that human activity was destroying ocean balance day by day. I was determined to save the poor creature right away, but we carried no sharp tools to cut the strong nets. We looked around the empty shore anxiously, not knowing who we could turn to for help. Just at that moment, a group of local teenagers carrying piles of environmental leaflets walked towards us.
Paragraph 1:
Seeing the trapped shark, the teenagers rushed over immediately.
______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Paragraph 2:
Before we left the town three days later, we held a small outdoor show on the beach.
______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
【答案】Paragraph 1:
Seeing the trapped shark, the teenagers rushed over immediately. One boy took a pair of safe scissors out of his environmental bag, while the rest knelt down and held the shark gently to calm it down. We cooperated patiently, carefully cutting every layer of plastic net around its body. Admiring its shiny silver skin, I truly understood that movies like Jaws had a terrible impact on public attitudes toward sharks, making most people ignore their endangered situation. After we set it free, the shark waved its tail and swam slowly toward the deep ocean. The teens said they handed out leaflets every weekend, and their protection activities were based on real survey data of local sea wildlife.
Paragraph 2:
Before we left the town three days later, we held a small outdoor show on the beach. Grandma created a short Beijing Opera play transformed into a warm story of shark protection, which was filled with vivid lines about ocean balance. Lots of passing tourists stopped to watch and gladly took our leaflets. We fully took people’s misunderstanding of sharks into account and patiently explained why sharks mattered to the sea. This unforgettable road trip completely changed my opinion: stage art and travel could work together to spread green ideas. I promised to keep telling such meaningful stories and stick to eco-friendly habits in daily life.

A.A fisherman. B.A scientist. C.A mangrove ranger. D.A village teacher.
25.(2.5分)What is a main feature of Zain’s work according to paragraph 2?

A.The roots Zain sat on. B.The man’s promises.
C.The mangrove forests. D.The local fishermen’s boats.
27.(2.5分)What is one important function of protecting the mangroves?
A.They provide wood for building houses. B.They attract many tourists for sightseeing.
C.They serve as a natural defense against storms. D.They are mainly used for scientific research.

C.To appeal for urgent protection of emperor penguins.
D.To present a new study on penguin breeding outcomes.

Our school has decided on a variety of environmental activities. Let me give you an idea about some of these activities. Firstly, mondays and tuesday will be walked to school days. That means everyone will go to school on food. Anyone living far away may use public transport, but they must walk at least half a kilometer. In this way, the school not only encourages students and teachers to exercise, but IT also helps to reduce air pollution. Secondly, on wednesdays and thursdays, all classes take turns looking after our school garden. After school finishes, on fridays, you will have the opportunity to attend lectures about the dangers our environment faces, what the solutions are and what we can all do to be environmentally responsible. The speakers will be either our teachers from our school or scientists from our local community. In addition, there will be a special event once every month. For example, next weekend we are having an art exhibition. All the art students have made some fantastic things from recycled materials. This exhibition is going to be held at the school gym from ten m to two PM on both saturday and sunday. That's all for me. Thank you. Hello everyone.
