Unit 1 The Changing World
Great changes have taken place in Li Rui's hometown over the past 20 years.

He studied at the National Southwest Associated University and later went abroad for further study at the University of Chicago in the United States.
In 1957, Yang and his colleague Li Zhengdao made history by winning the Nobel Prize in Physics. They received this prize for their groundbreaking work on the parity non-conservation theory (宇称不守恒理论) — a discovery that changed how scientists understood the basic laws of the universe. After returning to work at Tsinghua University, he spent his later years training young scientists and improving the development of physics in China.

Unit 3 Smart Learning
Chen Lin is a 14-year-old student from Hebei. Last year, she faced a big challenge: her English listening scores were always very low. She could read and write well, but whenever she listened to English, the words seemed to fly by too fast.
Chen Lin tried different methods. First, she tried listening to English songs every day. But she found that she paid more attention to the music than to the words. Then she tried watching English movies with Chinese subtitles. But she ended up reading the subtitles instead of listening.
Then her English teacher, Mr. Zhang, gave her some advice. He told her that she should start with short and simple listening materials. "Don't try to understand every single word," he said. "Just try to get the main idea first." He also suggested that she should listen to the same material several times — first for the general idea, then for details, and finally while reading the transcript.
Chen Lin followed Mr. Zhang's advice. Every morning, she listened to a three-minute English podcast while having breakfast. At first, she could only catch a few words. But after two months, she found that she could understand most of the content. Six months later, her listening score jumped from 12 to 26 out of 30.

Unit 4 Our Memory
Do you remember something lovely that happened when you were little? Many people have special childhood memories connected to their families. Some memories are about celebrations, like birthdays or festivals. Others are about simple moments, like a parent's hug or a family trip.
Scientists have found that our strongest memories are often connected to emotions. When we feel strong emotions — happiness, sadness, or even fear — our brains are more active. This helps the memory "stick" in our long-term memory. That's why we often remember big life events clearly, like our first day of school or a family member's passing.
But we can also train our brains to remember everyday moments better. One way is to tell stories about our experiences. When we share a memory with someone, we are practicing recalling it. Each time we recall it, the memory becomes stronger. Another way is to use our senses. The smell of a certain food or the sound of a song can suddenly bring back a memory from long ago. This is because our senses and memories are closely connected in our brains.
However, memories are not always 100% accurate. Every time we recall a memory, we may change it a little. Our feelings and thoughts can influence how we remember things. Two people who experienced the same event might remember it differently.
So, do you want to keep your precious memories? Try writing them down, sharing them with family, or even making photo albums. These activities can help you keep the memory alive for years to come.

A. Completely correct.

D. Because they didn't pay attention.
5. What does the author suggest doing to keep precious memories?
