On March 28, 2026, exciting news came from the WSBK race (世界超级摩托车锦标赛) at Algarve International Track in Portugal. A French rider, on a Zhangxue 820RR-RS motorcycle, crossed the finish line and won the first place. He beat the second rider by nearly 4 seconds, and won another championship in the second round even after he fell behind at first but made a great comeback. This win broke the long-term monopoly (垄断) of big international brands like Ducati, and let Chinese motorcycles step on the world’s top racing stage.
The man behind this success is 38-year-old Zhang Xue. His story is not only a grass-roots legend, but also a symbol of China’s manufacturing development. Zhang was born in a poor village in Huaihua, Hunan. His parents divorced when he was young, and he once made a living by picking up rubbish. At 14, he left school and became a learner in a motorcycle repair shop. With his deep love for motorcycles, he could even put an engine together with his eyes closed.
At 19, he rode over 100 kilometers in the rain to catch up with a TV program team, just to get a chance to be noticed by a racing team. Later, he became a stunt rider Knowing his own limits, he turned to making motorcycles. He went to Chongqing with only 20,000 yuan to build and sell motorcycles, set up his first brand, and even left his company because he insisted on self-developing engines. In 2024, he started a new brand named after himself. Finally, his fully Chinese-made bike made history in 2026.
24.When did Zhang Xue’s motorcycle win the WSBK race in Portugal?
A.In March 2026. B.At the age of 19. C.When he was 36.
25.What does the underlined word “comeback” in Paragraph 1 mean in Chinese?
26.What did Zhang Xue do at the age of 14?
A.He became a stunt rider.
B.He started his own brand.
C.He worked as a motorcycle repair learner.
27.What can we learn from Zhang Xue’s story?
A.Self-developing engines are useless for motorcycle makers.
B.Working hard for your dream can lead to success.
C.Only rich people can realize their racing dreams.
【答案】24.A 25.B 26.C 27.B
根据文章第一段中的“On March 28, 2026, exciting news came from the WSBK race ( 世界超级摩托车锦标赛 ) at Algarve International Track in Portugal. A French rider, on a Zhangxue 820RR-RS motorcycle, crossed the finish line and won the first place.”
根据文章第一段中的“He beat the second rider by nearly 4 seconds, and won another championship in the second round even after he fell behind at first but made a great comeback.”
根据文章第二段中的“At 14, he left school and became a learner in a motorcycle repair shop.”
根据第二段中的“The man behind this success is 38-year-old Zhang Xue. His story is not only a grass-roots legend, but also a symbol of China’s manufacturing development…With his deep love for motorcycles, he could even put an engine together with his eyes closed.”

①If you ask people, "Do you think fish can climb waterfalls?",most of them will tell you, "You are crazy."
②Shellears are small freshwater fish.About 17 years ago,a scientist noticed thousands of these fish climbing the Luvilombo waterfall. He even filmed it,but later lost the video. However, his reports got the attention of another researcher—Pacifique Mutambala.Mr.Mutambala then went to Luvilombo Falls to check the story of the climbing fish. What he saw amazed him.Small fish were holding on to the rock behind the falling water, making their way up the 15﹣meter waterfall.
③The scientists studied the fish. They learned that the shellears climb by pushing up with their back fins (鱼鳍) and using their front fins to hold onto the rock;their front fins have tiny hooks. They move almost like swimming straight up.
④Shellears perform this at the end of the rainy season and the beginning of the dry season. The movement reaches a peak by mid﹣April. The number of climbing fish goes up as the day ends,at sunset, and then goes down again when the sun comes out.
⑤When climbing, the fish take short breaks for 15 to 60 seconds, and longer breaks are 2 to 15 minutes,or even an hour or more! This shows that climbing upward uses a lot of energy, and the fish need longer rest time to get their energy back.It takes a fish 9 hours and 45 minutes to climb the whole height of the waterfall. That means a fish needs almost a whole day or night to get to the top!The climb is not easy at all.In fact, some fish may fall down suddenly and get washed back to the bottom of the fall!
⑥It's still not very clear why the fish climb up.There may be some reasons for it.
28 Which question does Paragraph 3 answer?
A.How shellears move up the waterfall.
B.Who first discovered shellears.
C.When shellears begin to climb.
D.Where shellears climb fastest.
29 According to the study, what can we know about the fish climbing?
A.They would hardly rest during the climbing.
B.They start climbing when it rains heavily.
C.More fish go climbing towards the end of the day.
D.It takes about 24 hours to get to the top.
30 Why does the writer use three "!" in Paragraph 5?
A.To explain how lucky shellears are.
B.To tell how important the climbing up is.
C.To praise how hard﹣working scientists are.
D.To show how difficult the process of climbing is.
31 What might the writer write at the end of the passage?
A.The secrets behind the lost video.
B.The reasons for shellears' unusual activity.
C.The useful ways of protecting the shellears.
D.The awards to Mr.Mutambala and other scientists.
根据第三段中the shellears climb by pushing up with their back fins and using their front fins (鱼鳍) to hold onto the rock, their front fins have tiny hooks. They move almost like swimming straight up(shellears鱼通过用背鳍向上推,用前鳍抓住岩石来攀爬,它们的前鳍有小钩子。 故选A。
The number of climbing fish goes up as the day ends,at sunset(随着一天结束,日落时分,攀爬的鱼的数量增加)可知,傍晚时攀爬的鱼更多。
根据第五段中and longer breaks are 2 to 15 minutes,or even an hour or more!...That means a fish needs almost a whole day or night to get to the top!The climb is not easy at all.In fact, some fish may fall down suddenly and get washed back to the bottom of the fall!(更长的休息时间是2到15分钟,甚至一个小时或更长!……
It's still not very clear why the fish climb up.There may be some reasons for it.(鱼为什么爬上来还不太清楚。
D
Paper, compass, gunpowder and printing are called the Four Great Inventions of ancient China. But Chinese people also made many small, clever things for daily life.
Take the oil-paper umbrella. It was first made to keep people dry in the rain. The cover is made of paper, and then linseed oil is put on it. This makes the paper waterproof. Bamboo is used for the ribs because it is light and strong.
Another small invention is the bamboo steamer. It is used for cooking food over boiling water. Because bamboo lets steam pass through, food stays soft and healthy. Many dim sum dishes are still made this way today.
These inventions are not as famous as rockets, but they show Chinese wisdom: use natural materials, solve a small problem, and make life better.
32.What is the oil-paper umbrella cover made of?
A.Plastic. B.Paper with linseed oil. C.Silk.
33.Why is bamboo used for the ribs of the umbrella?
A.Because it is light and strong.
B.Because it is heavy and cheap.
C.Because it is waterproof by itself.
34.What is the bamboo steamer used for?
A.Keeping rain out.
B.Storing books.
C.Cooking food over boiling water.
35.What does the writer want to show?
A.Only big inventions matter.
B.Small daily inventions also show wisdom.
C.Bamboo is the most useful material.
【答案】32.B 33.A 34.C 35.B
根据文章第2段“The cover is made of paper, and then linseed oil is put on it.”
根据文章第2段“Bamboo is used for the ribs because it is light and strong.”
根据文章第3段“It is used for cooking food over boiling water.”
根据文章第4段“These inventions are not as famous as rockets, but they show Chinese wisdom…”
As the English poet John Donne wrote, “No man is an island.” We are social creatures. 36 These connections shape who we are. They are like roots that support a growing tree.
The teenage years bring many changes. 37 We look for it in schoolwork, hobbies, and friendships. Our relationships with parents may become tense (紧张的) when they don’t understand our new interests. But friendships can grow stronger through shared secrets. Even teacher-student relationships can change as we form our own opinions. It is important to build healthy relationships during this period. 38 They give us the courage to try new things, like joining a sports team. They also offer support during hard times, such as difficult tests. Most of all, they teach us patience and kindness. This helps us become better people.
39 Many problems can happen. Some parents disagree with how much time we spend on phones. Friends might laugh at our favorite music. Sometimes, we care too much about what others think. We may have trouble saying “no” to their requests, like borrowing money we cannot afford.
In these moments, we need to use social skills. One way is to think about how others feel. Ask yourself: “How would I feel if someone did this to me?” Good communication is also key. Try using phrases like “I feel...” instead of blaming (指责) others. 40
A.Good grades are the most important thing for teenagers.
B.During this time, we try to find our own value.
C.We all build different relationships with others.
D.Good relationships help us feel more confident.
E.Still, it is not always easy to build and keep good relationships.
F.Smiling and listening carefully can turn conflicts (冲突) into understanding.
前文提到“No man is an island. We are social creatures.”,后文“These connections shape who we are.” C项“We all build different relationships with others.”
37.前文点明青春期会发生很多变化“The teenage years bring many changes.”,后文出现代词“it”,搭配短语“look for it”,此处应与青春期追寻的事物有关。B项“During this time, we try to find our own value.”中“this time”指代“the teenage years”,“our own value”正是“it”的指代对象,逻辑衔接通顺。
38.前文提出青春期建立健康人际关系很重要“It is important to build healthy relationships during this period.”,后文代词“They”引出人际关系带来的各类积极作用,此处应介绍良好人际关系的益处。D项“Good relationships help us feel more confident.”
E项“Still, it is not always easy to build and keep good relationships.”
F项“Smiling and listening carefully can turn conflicts (冲突) into understanding.”
Kevin used to believe that he had the world’s worst memory. He could never remember the names of new classmates, and he often 41 his homework at home. His teacher, Ms. Yang, once asked him, “Do you really have a bad memory, or have you never learned how to use it well?”
Kevin had no answer. That evening, he searched online and found a talk about memory. To his surprise, he learned that memory is not a 42 you are born with. It is more like a muscle (肌肉) that grows when you 43 it.
The next morning, Kevin decided to make a change. In class, instead of just writing down every word, he tried to find the main 44 of each lesson. After school, he 45 his notes into small parts and reviewed one part at a time. He also began to sleep early, 46 the talk said that sleep helps the brain store information.
47 , things were not easy. Kevin still forgot things now and then, and he felt 48 . But Ms. Yang told him not to give up. “Every small step counts,” she said gently.
Three months later, something surprising happened. Kevin could remember his classmates’ names, and he did much better in his history test. When his friend asked him the 49 , he smiled and said, “I did not get a new brain-I just found the right way to use the old one.”
Now Kevin is not afraid of forgetting anymore. He knows that a good memory is not about being 50 ; it is about finding a method that works for you.

根据“instead of just writing down every word”,说明要找主要观点/要点。
when“当……

The Barcelona government is banning (禁止) smoking on its beaches. Someone who smokes on the 51 (city) beaches may get fined (被罚款).

While there 54 (be) no fine for smoking during the test, people were just 55 (ask) not to smoke.
“Everybody understood the situation, and we hardly had to ask anyone to leave a beach and smoke somewhere else,” said Eloi Badia, a city 56 (lead) of Barcelona.
The test also led to a large drop in 57 number of cigarette butts (烟蒂) that were left in the sand on those beaches. They could cause huge 58 (problem) for the environment.
Barcelona has 59 (become) the first main city in Spain to ban smoking on its beaches. So far, of Spain’s over 3,000 beaches, nearly 500 have 60 (active) made bans on smoking, and the rest may not be far behind.

Many students read English in silence. But experts say reading aloud is a very useful habit. Here are some reasons.
First, reading aloud helps your pronunciation. When you speak, your mouth makes the sounds again and again. In this way, you remember not only the shape of the word, but also its sound.
Second, reading aloud improves your confidence. At first, you may feel shy. But when you practice in front of a mirror every day, you will become braver. Many good speakers started by reading aloud at home.
Third, reading aloud helps you feel the rhythm of the language. English has its own music. When you read aloud, you will notice which words are stressed and where to pause.
How long should you read every day? Experts suggest fifteen to twenty minutes is enough. You can read texts from your textbook, or short stories you love. You can also read to your parents or your pets. The more you practice, the better you will feel.

Last winter, I spent 100 yuan in a way I will never forget. Our class was raising money for a reading corner in a village school. I had saved the money by doing housework for three months, so I wanted to use it myself. At the flea market, I bought twenty old storybooks and gave them to our stall.
A week later, our teacher showed us a photo. Children were sitting on the floor, reading aloud. One boy held the very book I had bought.
That 100 yuan bought me nothing, yet it gave me something I still carry: money only becomes valuable when it reaches someone else.
