第一节 阅读理解(共15小题,每小题2分,满分30分)
阅读下面短文,从每题所给的A、B、C、D四个选项中选出最佳选项。
A
Most of us have secret gardens where we can relax, stretch and refresh. For me, since I can remember, that world has been books.
As with many children, books first drew me in through their illustrations. My love of colour was stimulated by the original Babar books; my understanding of lines comes from the Our Wullie annuals, or Tintin. Later, the words became more important to me. I was not happy at boarding school, but I loved spending time in its library. Books became my private garden. So it was no surprise that I studied English at university.
Today “English literature” is in sharp decline among senior-level exam subjects and some universities are ceasing to offer it. This is a quiet cultural disaster, one in which we are stealing their best future from our children. It may not lead directly to a good-paying office job. But it has given people like me a reliable friend.
Later, work and family made it harder for me to read. As a journalist, I had many deadlines, and as a mother, I often had little time because of children and money worries. Sometimes I read while standing on a moving bus or train. It was difficult, but I kept reading. Every year, I still looked forward to new books by Ian McEwan and many other writers, such as Penelope Fitzgerald and Donna Tartt. Each book gave me a new world to explore and a new friend to meet.
At this point, readers may ask whether I would have been better off living — meeting and talking to fleshy actual humans or playing sports. Well, I don’t spend all my life on a sofa with books all around me. There seems to be time for chat and laughter. But without deep and repeated reading of writers who millions of other people have already found friendly and helpful, my life would just be so much narrower and meaner. The great books remain, across most of a lifetime, my secret garden.
16.What does the author think of “English literature”?
A.Spiritual comforting. B.Academically difficult.
C.Economically rewarding. D.Practically advantageous.
17.What does Paragraph 4 mainly tell us about the author?
A.Her busy life. B.Her favorite writers.
C.Her reading on trips. D.Her insistence on reading.
18.What does the author intend to do in the last paragraph?
A.Analyze a current trend.
B.Defend her point of view.
C.Show readers’ misunderstanding of books.
D.Prove the importance of real-life activities.
【答案】16.A 17.D 18.B

B
On the last day of the summer holiday, my mother signed me up for the volunteer guide programme at the city museum. I had never spoken to a stranger before, but the museum needed more student guides for the school visits in September, and my mother said it would be good for me. Before that morning I had already been to the museum three times, and all three times had been school trips.
In the training course I learned a lot of facts. The oldest bowl in the museum is four hundred years old. The big bronze bell was used to call the farmers to work in the morning.
Then came the real test. On my first morning as a guide, a group of forty primary school students walked in behind their teacher. I opened my mouth and nothing came out. The first minute felt like an hour. “Good morning,” I finally said. “I am your guide today. My name is Lin Qiao.” Somebody at the back said, “Too quiet!” and laughed. I took a deep breath and started again, a little louder. “This bell is two hundred years old...” The children came closer. By the end of the first ten minutes they were pushing their hands up to ask questions, and I enjoyed watching their faces.
An old guide, Mr. Guo, watched me from the corner of the hall. Later he said, “You know what you said, but I could hear that you were speaking to each one of them. That is the difference between reading to people and talking to people.” After that morning I changed my way of talking. Instead of telling the children what an object was, I asked them what they had seen at home. The old wooden boat? A boy said his grandfather had one like it. The bronze bell? A girl said her village had a bell that rang at New Year. Suddenly the museum was full of their own memories.
Now I have been a guide for three weeks, and I have learned two things: a guide must know the facts, but she must also find the story inside them.
19.Why did Lin Qiao’s mother sign her up for the programme?
A.Because every student was asked to join.
B.Because she wanted her daughter to earn money.
C.Because Lin Qiao was going to be a teacher.
D.Because the museum needed more student guides.
20.How long had Lin Qiao been a guide when the story ended?
A.Three weeks. B.Two months. C.Half a year. D.One year.
21.How many times had Lin Qiao been to the museum before that morning?
A.Once. B.Twice. C.Three times. D.Never.
22.Which title suits the story best?
A.A Summer Holiday in the City B.Two Words Before a Crowd C.A Guide’s Busy Week D.A Museum Full of Children

C
My family members have a close relationship because our family has some rules. My mother makes it a rule that everyone must sit down at the table and have dinner together. I think this is one of the easiest and the most important rules to have as a family. Eating meals together creates a sense of belonging. What’s more, keeping this habit will increase everyone’s enjoyment.
Although it was hard for us to keep this routine at first, it has turned out to be a good habit. After dinner, we usually have our playtime, and then 7:00 p.m. is the bath time. 7:30 p.m. is the time to have some milk. At 7:50 p.m. my mother reads a story, and then lights go out at 9:30 p.m. This routine makes me wake up early in the morning and helps me be in a good mood (情绪) at school.
Cleaning up is a family matter. After dinner, we help our parents to clean up the kitchen and clear everything around the table. After this, we are asked to clean up the toys that we were playing with during the daytime. Then we won’t step on hard or wooden toys when we get up next morning.
▼ , and I never wake up in a rush in the morning. Even when there are special occasions (场合)—like my dad having to work late and come home later than usual—mom always keeps some food warm for him. When dad gets back, we’ll reheat the dishes a little, then sit around the table again to have a “late dinner” together. Even if we just chat about small things that happened during the day, my heart feels warm and full.
These simple family rules are like soft threads—they tie our family closely together, and every day is filled with a sense of safety and happiness.
23.The second paragraph in the writer’s family is about a ________
A.everyday routine B.working routine
C.night-time routine D.free-time routine
24.What can we learn from the “Cleaning up” part?
A.Cleaning up is only kids’ job.
B.They clean up toys before dinner.
C.Everyone in the family helps with cleaning.
D.They clean the kitchen but not the table.
25.Which of the following can be put in ▼ ?
A.It makes me feel energetic every day.
B.It’s not easy for me to keep it.
C.The routine makes me feel bad.
D.It is hard to get up.
26.Which is the best title for the text?
A.Rules Making Family Closer B.Importance of Evening Routines
C.Family Life: Dinner and Clean-up D.How to Keep Good Habits at Home
【答案】23.C 24.C 25.A 26.A

24.细节理解题。根据文章第三段“Cleaning up is a family matter. After dinner, we help our parents to clean up the kitchen and clear everything around the table.”可推知清洁是家庭事务,孩子们帮助父母清理,说明全家人都参与清洁。
25.推理判断题。根据文章第四段空格后“and I never wake up in a rush in the morning.”以及第二段“This routine makes me wake up early in the morning and helps me be in a good mood”可推知此处应填入表达常规带来积极影响的句子,即每天感到精力充沛。
26.最佳标题题。根据文章第一段“My family members have a close relationship because our family has some rules.”以及最后一段“These simple family rules are like soft threads—they tie our family closely together...”可推知文章核心主题是家庭规则让家人关系更亲密。
D
In November, our school went to IFLYTEK for a study tour to get a deeper understanding of artificial intelligence (AI).
The teacher first introduced some common knowledge and real-world uses of AI. For example, it beat humans in some difficult chess games. And ChatGPT could pass math exams with high scores. However, most students questioned the ability of AI. Some classmates even said, “I don’t think AI can do things better than humans in many ways.” But during the visiting, we came to believe that AI may be able to do things that humans may not expect.
Then we experienced IFLYTEK’s Starfire model. To test its uses, we suggested a Chinese writing topic about happiness that we had been thinking about for a long time. At first, Starfire gave us an ordinary article, so we weren’t happy with it. One student said, “This article has no standout things. It should be more detailed.” After many suggestions and tries, the AI’s final article was really good. And it won our applause (掌声).
After that, the teacher introduced digital (数字的) humans to us, which amazed us most. The digital humans can not only talk naturally, but also use real human body languages and make facial expressions. They do this with the help of special technology (技术) that reads humans’ faces and copies humans’ moves. And it makes them seem real.
We all saw the power of AI in different fields, but we also realized that it still has a long way to go. As AI technology continues to develop, it will surely meet with new difficulties.
27.What did some students think about AI at first?
A.AI can do everything better than humans.
B.AI can’t do things better than humans in a lot of ways.
C.AI may be able to do things that humans may not expect.
D.AI is useless and the ability of AI should be questioned.
28.What does the underlined word “standout” probably mean?
A.Boring. B.Excellent. C.Short. D.Difficult.
29.What can we infer (推断) from the passage?
A.AI needs further development. B.AI will take away humans’ jobs.
C.Students believe that AI is perfect. D.Students will beat AI successfully.
30.What is the structure of the text?
A. B. C. D.
【答案】27.B 28.B 29.A 30.D
根据文章第2段“Some classmates even said, ‘I don’t think AI can do things better than humans in many ways.’”可知,起初部分学生认为AI在很多方面都无法比人类做得更好。
28.词句猜测题。根据文章第3段“At first, Starfire gave us an ordinary article, so we weren’t happy with it. One student said, ‘This article has no standout things. It should be more detailed.’”可知,星火模型最初生成的文章很普通,学生对此不满意,认为文章没有出色的内容,需要更详实,由此可推断standout的含义是“优秀的,出色的”。
29.推理判断题。根据文章第5段“but we also realized that it still has a long way to go. As AI technology continues to develop, it will surely meet with new difficulties.”

A
Most of us have secret gardens where we can relax, stretch and refresh.
Each book gave me a new worl
a new friend to meet.
A.A Summer Holiday in the City B.Two Words Before a Crowd
C.A Guide’s Busy Week D.A Museum Full of Children

A. B. C. D.
