拓展提高(课内同源 + 课外同源)
Passage1(课内同源:一场关于家务的辩论)
Last Monday, Class 2, Grade 8 held a class meeting with a hot topic: should middle school students do housework at home? The classroom was soon divided into two camps. / The “yes” side spoke first. Li Hua said that doing housework helped students become independent. “If we can't even wash our own clothes, how can we look after ourselves in the future?” she asked. Her classmates added that sharing housework was a way to show love to parents. / The “no” side had its reasons too. Zhang Yang believed that students' main task was study, and that exams were coming soon. “Every minute should be spent on books,” he said. Some others worried that they were too clumsy and might break things or hurt themselves in the kitchen. / After a lively debate, the class teacher gave a summary. She said that study was important, but life skills mattered as well, and that the two sides were not really enemies. In the end, the class reached an agreement: everyone would do about half an hour of easy housework every day and still finish homework on time. Two weeks later, many parents told the teacher that their children had changed — and that the words “I can do it myself” had become the most popular sentence at home.

Passage2(课外同源:墙上的分工表)
In many schools, you can see a duty roster on the wall: Monday, Group One cleans the blackboard; Tuesday, Group Two waters the flowers. This simple idea of “taking turns” came into classrooms more than a hundred years ago, and later it walked into families and became the chore chart. / A chore chart divides the housework fairly among family members. On it, each person has his or her own jobs for the week: Dad cooks, Mum does the laundry, the children set the table and feed the pets. At the end of the week, the family can change roles, so nobody is stuck with the same job forever. / Families that use chore charts say the benefits go far beyond a clean house. First, children learn that they are needed, which builds their confidence. Second, arguments like “Why is it always me?” disappear, because the chart, not Mum's voice, tells everyone what to do. Third, children pick up real life skills — cooking, washing and planning — that will help them all their lives. / Scientists have found support for this too. A long-term study at the University of Minnesota showed that doing chores from a young age was connected with success in adult life. So if your family doesn't have a chore chart yet, maybe it's time to make one — and remember to take turns!

任务四范文:Last Sunday, my family made a chore chart together. Dad cooks dinner because he is the best cook in our home. Mum does the laundry, and I make my bed, set the table and take out the rubbish. At weekends, we take turns to clean the floor and wash the car. In my opinion, this chart is fair, because everybody does his or her part. Since we started it, our home has become tidier, and we argue less. I think every family needs such a chart to share both the work and the happiness.
