3. 语法小贴士：同位语（Appositives）

① 什么是同位语：同位语是紧跟在名词或代词之后、对它的身份或内容作补充说明的成分，常用逗号隔开，前后所指是同一人或同一事物。如 Zigui, the hometown of Qu Yuan（秭归——屈原的家乡），the hometown of Qu Yuan 就是 Zigui 的同位语。

② 构成形式：同位语可以是名词、名词短语、代词或数词。如 The Dragon Boat Festival, also known as the Duanwu Festival, is a traditional Chinese holiday.（also known as ... 作同位语）；We students should work hard.（students 是 We 的同位语）；We three went there.（数词 three 作同位语）

③ 与非限制性定语从句的区别：同位语说明“是什么”，前后是等同关系（可用 = 表示）；定语从句则对先行词起修饰限定作用。比较：We visited Zigui, the hometown of Qu Yuan.（同位语）／We visited Zigui, which is the hometown of Qu Yuan.（定语从句）。

④ 常见标志：逗号（或破折号）前后的两个成分指同一对象，同位语紧跟在被说明的词之后。如 Mr Smith, our English teacher, is very kind.（our English teacher 是 Mr Smith 的同位语）。

⑤ 本课其他重点：be known as（被称为）、turn out（结果是；证明是）、look like（看起来像）、to the beat of the drum（随着鼓点）、pay one's respects to sb.（向某人致敬）、have a deep love for（深爱……）。

⑥ 主谓一致提醒：everyone 作主语时谓语用单数。如 Everyone was excited!（was 而非 were）
