I can plan a forum reply with an opinion, a reason and an experience, then strengthen the link between the experience and my opinion.

Lucy is not as funny as Lily. Why does this not make her a less valuable friend? Use an action from the reply.
Look at “silver lining” in context. Does Lily help Rose see something hopeful or dangerous? Explain to a partner.

W3 哪个细节有用 Choose a useful detail 8 min
Read this practice draft: “I have a great friend. Our bags are both blue. She is nice.” The writer wants to show learning from differences. Which detail fails to show this? What experience would give better support?
Try a small scene: one friend is shy and the other enjoys meeting people. Add an action and a result. Keep it believable; a friend need not change completely in one day.
W4 先确定要说明什么 Plan your reply 8 min
Use 3b. Choose a view: similar friends / different friends / either can work. Plan an 80–100-word reply to Tom. Use a real or believable imagined experience. Use first names or initials.

从范文中发现写法 Read the model as a writer W1–W2
W1. Rose does not mind similarity or difference. Her view differs from Matt’s preference for similarity and Diana’s for difference. Her reason is that true friends care and help; her examples show different ways of doing so.
W2. Lily makes Rose laugh and notice something hopeful in a difficult situation. Lucy is quieter and not as funny, but listens well and cares. Her value is shown through support, not a higher score for humour. “Silver lining” means a positive or hopeful side of an unpleasant situation.
让事例支撑观点 Make an example do useful work W3–W4
W3. Blue bags show a shared colour choice, not learning from differences. “She is nice” needs a specific action. Revision: “I am quieter than Amy. At the book club, she introduced me to two students and stayed beside me while I spoke. I said a few sentences and felt more comfortable joining the next meeting.” The change is small and believable.
W4. A useful plan connects a view to an event: different strengths → a helpful action → a specific result → why it supports the view. Similarity or either-can-work positions are equally acceptable when their examples fit.
论坛回复示例 A sample forum reply W5
I think friends can be different and still understand each other. My friend Amy is more outgoing than me, but we both enjoy reading. Last month, our class started a book club. I wanted to join, but I was afraid to speak. Amy introduced me to two students and asked about my favourite character. I said a few sentences, and they listened with interest. Now I feel more comfortable sharing my ideas. Amy and I are different, but her support helps me try something new. That matters more than having the same personality.
This model has 93 words. The comparison explains a relevant difference; the action and result show its value. Students need not copy its event, wording or view.

检查点 Check
达到要求的表现 What meets the goal
View and reason
The reader can tell what the writer thinks and why.
Useful experience
A specific action and result support the view.
Comparison and clarity
A correct, relevant comparison; an event that is easy to follow.
Revision
A response to a real question or a meaningful language repair.
Ask “What did Amy do that helped you speak?” rather than “Can you add more words?” Accept a justified revision even if the original opinion stays. Word counting should not replace attention to meaning.
