First, it is important to build a positive attitude. Don’t be too negative when you meet difficulties. It is normal to make mistakes in study. Instead of fearing errors, you should learn from them. Keeping a positive mind will help you keep going when things get tough. Second, make good use of your free time. Many students spend lots of time on social media after school. You can set a time limit for your screen time. Use your spare time to review what you have learned in class. Speaking of learning, don’t be afraid to turn to your teachers or classmates for help. They are ready to give you advice when you have trouble understanding lessons. Third, take care of yourself. Study is important, but health matters too. Getting enough sleep and doing proper exercise can make you more energetic. If you feel upset, you can talk with your friends or family. Sharing your feelings is a good way to reduce stress.

第四部分 阅读表达(共5小题;每小题2分,满分10分)
The world’s understanding of English appears to be getting better. The private education company EF (Education First) recently published a report called English Proficiency Index (英语熟练度指标) 2018. For its report, EF used online test results from 1.3 million test takers all over the world. The report ranks English language proficiency into five classes. They are: very high, high, moderate, low and very low proficiency. Minh Tran, EF’s director of Research and Academic Partnerships, says, “At the global level, we are seeing a consistent (稳定发展的) improvement year after year.”
The English Proficiency Index 2018 says Sweden is the top country for English as a foreign language. Singapore has the best ranking in Asia with “very high proficiency” in English. Some other Asian countries such as South Korea and Japan have invested a lot of time and money in English education. But these countries have not improved much since the last study came out in 2017. Minh Tran believes that they are not improving because they have not made any important change to the way they teach English. They still rely (依赖) quite heavily on rote memory (死记硬背). And there’s a strong focus on grammar and vocabulary, but not so much on the actual communicative skills. English language proficiency has actually fallen in many countries in the Middle East and North Africa, partly because of wars in these areas.
EF hopes the report will help the countries know their ranks and make some improvements.
61. How did EF get the result of the report? (no more than 15 words)
62. Which country has the best ranking in Asia with “very high proficiency” in English? (1 word)
63. What does the underlined word “invested” in paragraph 2 probably mean? (no more than 5 words)
64. Why has English language proficiency fallen in many countries in the Middle East and North Africa? (no more than 10 words)
65. Are you satisfied with the way English is taught in your class? Give your reasons. (no more than 20 words)
