With this recognition, UNESCO has supported the development of massive Open Online Courses (MOOC) on MIL in multiple languages, in cooperation with different partners.(因此,全民教育必须包括全民的媒介与信息素养。

根据“MIL: fostering A cognitive-Emotional Approach”部分中的“This self-directed and interactive course created by UNESCO aims to help learners gain a deep understanding of media literacy and recognize its significance in both their daily lives and society as a whole.(这门由联合国教科文组织打造的自主式互动课程,旨在帮助学习者深入理解媒介素养,并认识到其在日常生活和整个社会中的重要性。)”
故选A项。

Dear Mr. Smith,
I’m writing to share my creative design for the Future Classroom Experience Zone to be held next month.
Equipped with holographic screens, the classroom allows teachers to display 3D models, making abstract knowledge vivid. Instead of fixed seats, movable desks are arranged freely, where students can discuss group projects instantly with digital tablets linked to the teacher’s platform. Voice-controlled devices also enable quick interaction without raising hands.
This design, combining high technology with flexible communication, eases students’ learning pressure and improves class efficiency. It also encourages active participation rather than passive listening. I sincerely hope my idea can be adopted.
Yours sincerely,
Li Hua

Instead, she gestured toward the worn copy of The Adventures of Tom Sawyer. She pulled a chair closer and asked him to tell her what struck him about the story. Hesitant at first, Leo spoke about how he couldn’t focus on the content and make the connections. Mrs. Evans listened without interrupting. When he finished, she smiled. “The connection,” she said, “is the heart of your essay. You just didn’t know you had it.” That afternoon, they agreed to meet twice a week — she would help him with writing; he would keep her tablet from dying.
A month later, Leo stood nervously outside Mrs. Evans’s door, holding his A essay. When Mrs. Evans opened the door, he held out the paper. “I couldn’t have done it without you.” She took the essay, her eyes shining as she read the first paragraph. “You found your own voice,” she said softly. Just then, Emma was calling. Leo saw her eagerness. He smiled and pointed toward the screen. “Go on. I’ll fix any bugs later.” As mother and daughter laughed across continents, Leo realized that some connections, like the one he now shared with Mrs. Evans, needed no update to stay strong.
①专注于:focus on/concentrate on
②插嘴:interrupt/cut in
①犹豫的:hesitant/tentative
②温柔地:softly/tenderly
【点睛】[高分句型1] Hesitant at first, Leo spoke about how he couldn’t focus on the content and make the connections.
[高分句型2] As mother and daughter laughed across continents, Leo realized that some connections, like the one he now shared with Mrs. Evans, needed no update to stay strong.
Section 1(Text 1Text 5)
Text 1(第1小题)
W: I'm going to make dinner at 6:30. Will you have your work done by then?
M: Probably not, but I'll take a break then and carry on afterward. Sorry, I've been too busy all weekend preparing for the presentation to help much around the house.
Text 2(第2小题)
M: How much is this shirt?
W: It's $50, but there's a 20% discount today and you need to pay an extra $5 for shipping.
M: Okay, I'll take it.
Text 3(第3小题)
M: Hear that wind and rain. Good thing I skipped washing the car yesterday.
W: Yesterday's weather was great for outdoor activities, and thankfully the forecast says it'll be back to the same tomorrow.
Text 4(第4小题)
M: Come on, the quiz show you like is about to start.
W: Oh, brilliant.
M: The football match is on afterward, so this is going to be a great day.
W: Perfect. I'll make some popcorn and we can enjoy both together.
Text 5(第5小题)
W: I can't wait to replace this broken carpet. Our rabbits have chewed parts of it.
M: That's why we need wooden flooring.
W: Rabbits chew wood, too. How about we buy them some toys to chew?
Section 2(Text 6Text10)
Text 6(第6、7小题)
M: Have you seen this in the newspaper?
W: It's not another economic news, is it? You know, that sort of thing doesn't interest me.
M: No, it's not that. It's a huge photo of a cup of coffee with the logo of that new coffee bar in town. It's quite an eyecatcher.
W: We should check it out and see if it is as good as it looks.
M: Well, instead of going there, we can make our own coffee using that new machine I bought. We could sit and read the sports pages at no extra cost.
W: Good idea.
Text 7(第8、9小题)
M: I've really enjoyed my work here over the last three weeks. It's given me a real insight into my future work.
W: Has it inspired you to pursue a career in law?
M: It's certainly given me food for thought. Before coming here, I had my heart set on designing buildings as it's what my dad does. And it's something I've always been interested in since I was a kid. But working with you has truly made me reconsider.
W: Do both your parents design buildings?
M: No, my mom works in medicine.
W: I see. But studying law takes a lot of hard work.
M: Oh, I don't mind it. No pains, no gains.
Text 8(第1013小题)
M: When do we serve the meal?
W: Right after the ceremony.
M: Not quite. The ceremony is at noon. And by 12:30 p.m., the bride and groom will take pictures with guests in the gardens. Then the wedding party will move to the main reception room for drinks around 1:15 p.m. That's where you'll be needed first.
M: So I'll be working in different rooms.
W: Yes. After the drinks, the guests will make their way to the dining hall. We'll serve them the meal there at 2 p.m.
M: Do the guests need to be in the hall before that?
W: Yes, we'll invite them to sit down 15 minutes beforehand. Most guests are having the beef meal, but a few asked for the vegetarian option. I've marked their choices on the seating arrangements I've given you, but double check with each guest before serving, as some may have changed their minds. Oh, look, the first guests are arriving.
Text 9(第1417小题)
M: According to the villagers, if we keep quiet and stick to this path, there's a small chance we'll see a rare animal.
W: What is it?
M: It's in the same family as the domestic cat, but it's a lot bigger than the cat people have as a pet. They're about a meter long and half a meter in height. Having said that, their average weight is nothing compared to that of a lion.
W: Are there a lot of them around here?
M: In 2005, their numbers fell to around 100. Despite being one of the most threatened wild cat species, conservation efforts have helped their population grow across parts of Iberia. Iberia, it refers to the region that includes Spain, Portugal, Andorra, the Britishowned island of Gibraltar and a tiny part of southern France. This rare animal once lived throughout these areas, but now it is found only in parts of Spain and Portugal.
W: It's very sad, but at least things have improved.
M: That's encouraging. I believe future generations will still be able to witness these beautiful animals.
Text 10(第1820小题)
M: I'm so happy to be here in Beijing with you all today. My name is Dean and I'm a music production project leader at the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts in England. As a music enthusiast, I have been blown away by the talent here in Beijing and would like to invite you to spend a few months in Liverpool. As a part of a student exchange program, the idea is that you partner a student from England, you spend time with them in Liverpool, and then they come and visit you in Beijing. For both groups of students, it'll be a great chance to improve your cultural understanding and enrich your musical experience.
A little bit of surprising history for you. The Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts was founded by a famous singer in 1996. His fellow band member once said life is what happens when you're busy making other plans. His saying reminds us that life is about enjoying the journey. With that in mind, what are you waiting for? Why not allow Liverpool to be part of your musical journey?

Growing up in America as a child of first-generation Chinese immigrants, I was used to living in two worlds. But as I grew older, the Chinese side faded away. While I happily accepted the red envelopes during Lunar New Year and consumed mooncakes on the Mid-Autumn Festival, I didn’t feel connected to the culture.
Before my children were born, I had already decided that I would teach them Mandarin(普通话). I felt that they ought to be able to speak the language of their heritage.
Parenting books advised describing your actions while playing with your children, so I started digging out the long-buried words during every activity: “ball”, “eat”, “sleep”, “play”. However, as this exercise continued, the gaps in my Mandarin became more and more obvious. Luckily, the ready availability of Chinese language media-from books to television shows to music-made things much easier. As they grew older, I took them to the local library where the tale of the Monkey King and the legend of Chang’e immediately caught their imagination.
When I see my son converse with his grandfather in Mandarin or when my daughter insists on fish for Lunar New Year, the time spent reading all those books closely feels well-spent.
Last fall, my youngest son recited Li Bai’s “Quiet Night Thoughts” for the Moon Festival performance at his preschool. His voice rang out with confidence and his arms swept up to indicate the moon above. Joy and wonder lit up my father’s face as he listened to the familiar verses from the mouth of his grandson.
Decades ago, my Chinese teacher explained to me how the moon connects all those who seek its light, no matter how far apart they are. So, too, does language. It influences culture and history, and connects future generations to past ones.

Today, with the help of AI tools, anyone can instantly generate impressive architectural images. Yet this raises a serious question for architects: if technology lowers the technical barrier, what remains the true value of design? The answer, many experts believe, lies in deeper philosophical(哲学的)thinking.
Architecture is not only about structure. It also reflects how humans understand life. This understanding begins with the individual-how a building can shape people’s emotions. It then extends to the community-whether a neighborhood design brings people together or drives them apart. Ultimately, it touches upon time itself-how to balance the preservation of historical identity with the need for change.
AI can copy thousands of design styles, but it cannot make value judgments. It doesn’t know why some designs are good in a moral or human sense. For instance, a library in Colombia places its reading rooms, not offices, in the brightest and highest spaces-a design choice symbolizing equality and care. As scholar Nayef Al-Rodhan points out, “Good design should possess valuable qualities, including respect, inclusion, and safety, which cannot be left to AI to handle.”
In the future, the best architects may not be those who master AI tools, but those who comprehend philosophical reflection. Saudi Arabia’s project “The Line” is a case in point. Designed to let residents live in harmony with nature, the city spans 170 kilometres in length yet is only 200 metres wide, with no cars, no streets, and a transit system that reaches any destination within five minutes. Whether The Line succeeds or fails, it reminds us that although technology can help us design the city, it cannot judge for us what kind of life is worth living, and AI can’t fathom the deepest beliefs we have for our lives.
Freed from repetitive drafting work, architects in the age of AI must think more deeply about humanity, community, and sustainability. The great designs of the future will emerge where technology meets philosophy, not where one replaces the other.
28. What is the main function of paragraph 2 in the passage?
A. To introduce examples of architecture. B. To compare architecture with philosophy.
C. To present architecture from a philosophical view. D. To explain how AI will change future construction.
29. What can we learn from the example of the library in Colombia?
A. Great design is human-centered. B. AI can understand public buildings.
C. Symbolic meaning should be considered. D. Equality is the core value of modern design.
30. What does the underlined word “fathom” in paragraph 4 probably mean?
A. Decline. B. Understand. C. Recover. D. Measure.
31. According to the passage, what should architects do in the age of AI?
A. Shift from drawing to building. B. Employ AI as a powerful tool.
C. Prioritize philosophy over function. D. Bring soul and meaning to designs.
D
Newly published research finds that tropical forests can recover up to twice as fast after deforestation with sufficient soil nitrogen (氮). Scientists from the University of Leeds launched the largest and longest experiment ever designed to examine how nutrients affect forest regrowth in tropical areas cleared for activities such as logging and agriculture.
They selected 76 forest plots across Central America and monitored them for up to 20 years. Each site differed in age and size, allowing the team to track tree growth and death during forest recovery. Different nutrient treatments were applied to test nutrient roles. Some were given nitrogen fertiliser, some phosphorus(磷), some both, and others none.
The results showed that the levels of nutrients in the soil strongly influence tropical forest regrowth speed:nitrogen-rich forests recovered twice as fast as nitrogen-lacking ones, while phosphorus alone had no such effect. The findings were published on January 13 in the journal Nature Communications. Lead author Wenguang Tang said, “Our study is inspiring because it suggests there are ways we can boost the storage of greenhouse gases through reforestation by managing the nutrients available to trees.”
The research team used nitrogen fertiliser for the purposes of the experiment but does not advocate for fertilising forests, as that would have negative consequences, including polluting rivers and lakes and making the soil too weak for trees to stay healthy. Instead, the team suggests more sustainable alternatives. Forest managers could plant trees from the bean family, which host nitrogen-fixing bacteria in their root systems that can naturally fertilise the forest. Another option is restoring forests in areas that already have sufficient nitrogen due to the effects of air pollution.
Tropical forests are seen as vital global carbon sinks which slow climate change by absorbing carbon dioxide and storing it in trees. If young tropical forests worldwide lack nitrogen, they may fail to store about 0.69 billion tonnes of carbon dioxide each year-roughly equal to two years of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gas release in the U. K.
32. How is paragraph 2 developed?
A. By making comparison. B. By explaining the process.
C. By clarifying the principles. D. By analyzing cause and effect.
33. What did the experiment find about forest regrowth?
A. Nitrogen doubles the recovery speed. B. Mixed nutrients work the best among all.
C. Phosphorus can aid forest regrowth indirectly. D. Forests boost the storage of greenhouse gases.
34. What can be inferred from the researchers’ recommendation?
A. Fertilisers should be made full use of. B. Using nitrogen leads to harmful side effects.
C. People should turn to nature-based solutions. D. Bean trees need to be planted in polluted areas.
35. What is the best title of the text?
A. Nitrogen: Key to Forest Regrowth B. Nitrogen: Impact on Climate Change
C. Tropical Forests: Recovering Soon D. Tropical Forests: Global Carbon Sinks

Many people think a good learner must keep steady focus. Yet new studies show the opposite. When the mind gently drifts, it can still absorb facts. More importantly, it can connect them in fresh ways. This process, called inferential learning, lets us go beyond the given facts and reach new conclusions. ___36___
Mind-drifting gives the brain extra time. Suppose a student hears that plants bend toward light. ___37___ Neurons repeat the pattern without effort. This hidden rehearsal strengthens memory traces and keeps the door open for later links.
Drifting invites remote associations. During a break, the same student may recall her kitchen window, where the basil plant leans each morning. Two scenes—classroom and kitchen—meet in her mind. From this mix she may infer that light direction, not just sunlight itself, guides plant growth. ___38___ However, focused study rarely allows such loose pairing of places and times.
A wandering mind tests rules in private. While the teacher moves to the next topic, the student's thoughts may run a quick test: "If the light comes from below, will the stem still bend up?" ___39__ These quiet experiments sharpen understanding and prepare the learner for real tests later.
___40___ They forget that controlled wandering is not the same as chaos. Learners can set soft borders: after twenty minutes of hard work, they allow five minutes of gentle drift. In this window, the mind roams but stays near the topic. The result is deeper insight without lost time.
A. Critics may say distraction wastes time.
B. Mind-wandering breaks cognitive barriers.
C. No lab is needed; the brain runs a silent model.
D. This random access generates innovative ideas.
E. The leap is small, but it is new knowledge built on her own.
F. A wandering mind, it turns out, is a quiet helper in this work.
G. While her eyes look out of the window, her brain keeps the idea alive.

Mrs. Evans, a retired librarian, had always found comfort in the quiet order of printed books. The digital world, with its endless notifications and flashing screens, felt like a foreign language she had no desire to learn. Her life changed when her only daughter, Emma, moved to Australia for work. Video calls became their only bridge, yet Mrs. Evans’s ancient tablet, a gift from years ago, was a source of constant discouragements — frozen screens, sudden silences, and that unwelcome low battery indicator.
Across the street lived Leo, a high school student known for his tech skills and quiet behavior. He often saw Mrs. Evans struggling on her door, her face fixed with confusion as she tapped uselessly on the silent device. One rainy afternoon, her call with Emma cut off suddenly. In a moment of uncharacteristic boldness, Mrs. Evans walked across the street and knocked on Leo’s door.
“I’m sorry to bother you,” she said, holding out the tablet like a wounded bird. “It’s my daughter... I can’t see her.”
Leo, who was more accustomed to fixing code than managing relationships with neighbors, invited her in. Within minutes, he had checked the problem — an outdated operating system and an overflowing with digital mess. As he worked, Mrs. Evans noticed the textbooks on his desk, all advanced mathematics and physics, but also a single, well-worn copy of The Adventures of Tom Sawyer with a bookmark stuck halfway.
“You’re reading that for school?” she asked, her librarian instincts (直觉) kicking in.
Leo shrugged (耸肩), and his face turned a little red. “It’s not for school. I just... like it. But the essays we have to write about it...” He stopped talking, and you could easily see he was upset. “I can make an app, but I can’t write what the teacher wants. It feels like a different kind of problem I just can’t solve.”
Leo finished the update and handed back the tablet, but Mrs. Evans did not reach for it immediately.
注意:
1.续写词数应为150个左右;
