Best time to visit Summer is the most popular time to visit this water-filled wilderness, when warm temperatures and long daylight hours make it ideal for boating, fishing, and camping. From June through August, visitors can explore hundreds of interconnected lakes, spot bald eagles and moose along quiet shorelines. Autumn brings cooler weather, fewer crowds, and brilliant displays of red, orange, and gold across the park’s dense forests. Winter transforms the landscape into a frozen playground for snowmobiling, cross-country skiing, ice fishing, and even viewing the northern lights, while spring offers peaceful waterways, and migrating birds. Things to do Many visitors come to Voyageurs to fish. To do so, guests must obtain a State of Minnesota fishing license. Numerous guiding services take visitors out on the park’s 30 lakes. The Black Bay Trail system is a popular cross-country skiing destination in the winter with miles of groomed trails (小径) ranging from beginner to advanced. You can reserve skis and snowshoes online. Visitors can even drive across a frozen lake to reach the trail. Where to stay Hotels: There is only one hotel in the park. It’s reached by boat or float plane. Campsites: You can reach front-country campsites by boat, whether you paddle yourself or hire a water taxi. In the winter, these campsites are reachable only by snowshoe, cross-country ski, or snowmobile, so they’re better suited to more experienced campers. Backcountry campsites are located on the Kabetogama Peninsula. Visitors can arrive by boat, and then hike the rest of the way. The only drive-in campsite near the park is Woodenfrog Campground. 21. Which season is the best time to explore Voyageurs? A. Spring. B. Summer. C. Autumn. D. Winter. 22. What are visitors required to do to fish in Voyageurs? A. Hire a local guide. B. Get a fishing license. C. Join a park activity. D. Rent a local fishing boat. 23. What do we know about Woodenfrog Campground? A. It is inside the park. B. It is reached by boat. C. It opens only in winter. D. It can be accessed by car. B The whole thing kicked off in the fall when I arrived at college. It was this strange mix of exciting new freedom and a lot of new responsibilities I hadn’t really thought about, like managing money. My parents, who are usually pretty careful, set me up with a debit (借记) card, with a quick “be responsible!” before I headed off. The campus bookstore, with all its shiny goods, new books, and cool decorative lights, was super attractive. I bought a planner, a cup and a T-shirt. Each purchase (购买) seemed small, and I kept telling myself, “This is what adults do!” The big moment came fast. I was trying to get some cash out for a weekend trip with my new friends. I pictured us eating pizza, doing whatever we wanted. But the amount left on the receipt (收据) was so much smaller than I expected. It was shockingly smaller. My heart actually dropped. All those small purchases, which felt fine when I made them, had added up. I was practically broke. The problem wasn’t with anyone else; it was totally inside me, me against my own quick spending and the fact that I just hadn’t planned anything. After that, there was a lot of quiet thinking and, okay, a little bit of panicking. I finally called my mom, feeling really embarrassed. She listened, and then she said something simple that just clicked, “You need to make a budget (预算).” The shame was definitely there, but so was this new, growing understanding. “Having money isn’t enough. You have to actually manage it,” she added. So, the way things are ending isn’t completely over, but it definitely started with me feeling a little more in control. I’m learning to tell the difference between what I need and what I want, to keep track of every dollar, and to actually plan ahead. It’s a lesson that I know will stick with me, way beyond my time at college. 24. What did the author think of his purchases at first? A. They were all necessary. B. They were worth it for friends. C. They seemed to cost very little. D. They cost more than he expected. 25. How did the author feel after seeing the receipt? A. Proud. B. Curious. C. Hesitant. D. Anxious. 26. What did the author’s mother probably want to say? A. Good money habits are really important. B. College students lack financial support. C. Parents should manage their kids’ money. D. Young people should spend less money. 27. What does the author’s story mainly show? A. Freedom often brings financial difficulties. B. Careful parents can prevent money problems. C. College life is mainly about managing money. D. Mistakes sometimes can contribute to a person’s growth. C What do you get if you put an emotional support animal and a robot vacuum cleaner together? You may get something such as a new robot, and at first sight, you’d be forgiven for thinking it’s simply a new and improved robo-pet. But its creators — a team that includes robotics engineers — say it’s more than that. They say the new robot is an “AI system designed to adapt and interact with people in ways that feel natural”. Colin Angle, the CEO of a company, said, “The new robots represent a step forward in robotics. The next era (时代) of robotics is not just about dexterity (灵巧) or humanoid form — it’s about machines that can build and keep human connections.” Then, how is the new robot different from any other object someone could grow attached to? Ira Renfrew, co-founder of the company that makes it, said, “We want something that becomes part of your world over time, not a small tool or an appliance. The new robot can perceive (察觉) its environment, develop distinct personalities, and respond in ways that change through life alongside the people around them. The new robot is designed for anyone who would like a positive, caring presence in their household. It is for the moments when you need some company, comfort or even gentle coaching.” However, some professionals have voiced serious worries about the robot. They believe that spending too much time with it may stop people from communicating with others in real life. Besides, the robot’s fixed emotional responses cannot solve people’s real problems, which affects people’s ability to deal with daily difficulties. Renfrew explains, “The honest measure of whether my team has succeeded isn’t how much time you spend with the new robots, nor whether you become more attached to the machines. The success lies in whether you finally become more connected to your life. These are tools that help you live a little better without taking over your life.” 28. What is Angle’s attitude toward the new robots? A. Positive. B. Critical. C. Objective. D. Uncertain. 29. What is a feature of the new robot from paragraph 5? A. It can do all housework. B. It can learn to offer emotional support. C. It can predict people’s diverse needs. D. It can help improve people’s personalities. 30. What is paragraph 6 mainly about? A. The advantages of the robo-pet. B. The application of the new robot. C. Scientists’ views on smart tools. D. Professionals’ concern about the new robot. 31. What does Renfrew want to emphasize about the new robots at last? A. They will take over people’s life. B. They will change most human relationships. C. They are meant for supporting people’s real-life connections. D. Their success depends on how much time users spend with them. D Some of the universe’s earliest massive galaxies (星系) may have much more mass than astronomers once believed. Their brightest stars are easy to see, but many small, faint stars may be hidden by their light. This means these galaxies may be much heavier than earlier studies suggested. An international team used NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) and the Very Large Telescope to study nine massive galaxies. These galaxies stopped forming stars billions of years ago. By combining the observations, the researchers were able, for the first time, to reliably estimate (估计) the relative numbers of tiny, faint stars and much larger, brighter stars in galaxies at such great distances. “These galaxies are different,” said Joel Leja, a professor at Penn State. “They’re different in a way that is really challenging to understand, because they are more massive than we expected.” To uncover those faint star populations, astronomers separated each galaxy’s light into a spectrum, where small differences in color reveal which kinds of stars are present. Bright stars usually dominate the spectrum, so faint stars were difficult to find. Researchers used models to better understand the light. Astronomers have traditionally estimated the unseen mass contained in small, faint stars by assuming that stars form in roughly the same proportions throughout the universe. The new measurements challenge that assumption. They indicate that the most massive galaxies in the early universe contain a substantially larger share of low-mass stars than less massive galaxies such as the Milky Way. “This discovery has major implications for our understanding of the early universe,” said Leja. “Since the launch of JWST, astronomers have found surprisingly massive and mature galaxies that already existed shortly after the Big Bang. If these galaxies really contain more low-mass stars, their total mass may also have been underestimated.” Over the next several years, the researchers plan to apply the same method to galaxies from even earlier periods, bringing them closer to the epoch when the universe’s first generations of stars and galaxies formed. 32. How did the researchers find faint stars? A. By comparing the sizes of galaxies. B. By observing stars from the Milky Way. C. By examining differences in galaxy light. D. By measuring changes in star movement. 33. What does the underlined word “implications” in paragraph 6 mean? A. Possible effects. B. Hidden reasons. C. New disadvantages. D. Various opinions. 34. What does the researchers’ future plan show? A. Earlier galaxies are easier to study now. B. Galaxy formation is no longer a mystery. C. Their current method has proved perfect. D. The discovery of faint stars may lead to wider research. 35. Which is the most suitable title for the text? A. A Study of the Milky Way B. A New Look at Early Galaxies C. Changes in Space Technology D. The Formation of Nine Galaxies How to Stay Disciplined (自律的) with Phone Use Staying disciplined with phone use can be challenging. Each pair had to create a large painting showing “Our School Through Our Eyes”. Emma was paired with Noah, a quiet boy who preferred drawing alone, while Emma loved making quick decisions and finishing everything ahead of schedule. After several discussions, they finally agreed to paint the old oak tree (橡树) beside the playground, where students often gathered after class. Every afternoon, they stayed in the art room mixing colors, outlining branches and carefully adding tiny details. Gradually, the once-empty canvas (画布) became filled with sunlight, laughter and familiar memories. By the end of the first week, the painting was nearly finished. Their classmates often stopped by to admire it. Some said the golden leaves looked almost real, while others joked that they wished they could sit beneath the painted tree. Hearing the praise, Emma and Noah exchanged proud smiles. The following Monday, Emma arrived early, hoping to add the final touches before class. As she pushed open the art-room door, she froze. A large splash of dark blue paint covered nearly half of the painting. The tree, the playground and the bright sky had almost disappeared beneath the thick stain (污渍). Emma’s heart dropped. Moments later, Noah rushed in. Seeing the damaged painting, he immediately turned to Emma. Since she had taken the classroom key home over the weekend, Noah thought she had forgotten to lock the door after practicing alone. Emma felt shocked and hurt. She insisted she had locked it carefully before leaving. Noah, however, believed someone must have entered after she left. Neither of them was willing to give in. They spent the rest of the morning speaking only when absolutely necessary, each quietly blaming (指责) the other. The unfinished painting, once their greatest pride, now seemed to separate them instead of bringing them together. Noticing the tension between Emma and Noah, Ms Carter decided to talk with them. _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ When the exhibition opened, Emma and Noah stood in front of the new oak tree they had painted. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 第1页/共1页 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $ 高二英语测评 学校______________班级______________姓名______________考号______________ 注意事项: 1. What should the man do to save his plant? Who can decide to turn on the warning system? A. Local officials. B. Local media. C. The national weather service. 19. Where should people go when they hear a warning according to the text? A. To an open space. B. To a public shelter. C. To the inside of a building. 20. What is the main topic of the talk? A. A weather report. B. A warning system. C. The safety steps in bad weather. A 18. A 19. C 20. M: Thank you for attending this public hearing on our new Severe Weather Warning System. I’m Mayor Dunley. First, I’d like to remind everyone that the main purpose of a weather warning system is to tell people outdoors to move inside. Now, it’s important to remember that we will test the system every Saturday at noon, so don’t worry about the noise at that time. It’s a good idea to go outside and listen when we test the system and make sure you can hear our warning in your neighborhood. Remember that the loud noises are only one part of the warning system. The loud noises are started by city officials after we receive alarms from the national weather service. In other words, you might hear an alarm on the national news before you hear the warning here. If you do hear one, what should you do? First, take cover. Our city doesn’t have public shelters, so go to the inside of any building, away from windows. Second, wait for reports on local media. Finally, stay indoors until you hear the all-clear signal. A Voyageurs National Park This remote northern wilderness is an extraordinary land of lakes and star-filled skies, and one of America’s most underrated national parks. B. 24. C 25. D 26. A 27. A 29. B 30. D 31. 根据第三段中的“Colin Angle, the CEO of a company, said, “The new robots represent a step forward in robotics. (然而,一些专业人士对这款机器人表达了严重担忧。他们认为在机器人身上花费过多时间会阻碍人们现实中的人际交流,而且机器人固定的情绪反应无法解决人的真实难题,会影响人们处理日常困境的能力。)”可知,第六段主要讲述专业人士对于这款新型机器人的担忧。 【31题详解】 推理判断题。根据尾段中的“The honest measure of whether my team has succeeded isn’t how much time you spend with the new robots, nor whether you become more attached to the machines. The success lies in whether you finally become more connected to your life. These are tools that help you live a little better without taking over your life. (评判我的团队是否成功,真正的标准不在于你和这些新型机器人共处多久,也不在于你是否对机器产生更多依赖。成功的关键,是你最终能否与自身生活建立更紧密的联结。它们只是工具,帮你把生活过得更好一点,而不是掌控你的生活。)”可知,Renfrew想强调这款机器人的作用是辅助人们建立现实生活中的联结。 D Some of the universe’s earliest massive galaxies (星系) may have much more mass than astronomers once believed. The Formation of Nine Galaxies 【答案】32. C 33. A 34. D 35. B 【解析】 【导语】文章主要介绍天文学家借助韦伯望远镜获得对早期星系质量的新研究发现。 【32题详解】 细节理解题。根据第四段中“To uncover those faint star populations, astronomers separated each galaxy’s light into a spectrum, where small differences in color reveal which kinds of stars are present. (为了揭示那些暗淡的恒星群,天文学家将每个星系的光分离成光谱,其中颜色的细微差异可以揭示存在哪些类型的恒星。)”可知,研究人员通过分析星系光线的差异来发现暗淡的恒星。 【33题详解】 词句猜测题。根据第六段中“This discovery has major implications for our understanding of the early universe (这一发现对我们理解早期宇宙具有重大的implications。)”及后文“Since the launch of JWST, astronomers have found surprisingly massive and mature galaxies that already existed shortly after the Big Bang. If these galaxies really contain more low-mass stars, their total mass may also have been underestimated. (自从詹姆斯·韦伯太空望远镜(JWST)发射以来,天文学家发现了令人惊讶的巨大而成熟的星系,它们在大爆炸后不久就已经存在。如果这些星系确实含有更多低质量恒星,那么它们的总质量也可能被低估了。)”可知,这一发现对我们理解早期宇宙有重大影响,implications意为“可能的影响”。 【34题详解】 推理判断题。根据最后一段中“Over the next several years, the researchers plan to apply the same method to galaxies from even earlier periods, bringing them closer to the epoch when the universe’s first generations of stars and galaxies formed. (在接下来的几年里,研究人员计划将同样的方法应用于更早时期的星系,从而使他们更接近宇宙第一批恒星和星系形成的时代。)”可知,对暗淡恒星的发现可能会推动更广泛的研究。 【35题详解】 主旨大意题。通读全文,尤其根据第一段“Some of the universe’s earliest massive galaxies (星系) may have much more mass than astronomers once believed. Their brightest stars are easy to see, but many small, faint stars may be hidden by their light. This means these galaxies may be much heavier than earlier studies suggested. (宇宙中一些最早的大质量星系,其质量可能远超天文学家曾经的认知。它们最亮的恒星很容易被看到,但许多微小、暗淡的恒星可能被这些亮光所掩盖。这意味着这些星系可能比早期研究认为的要重得多。)”可知,文章主要介绍了一项关于早期大质量星系的新研究,研究发现这些星系可能比之前认为的含有更多暗淡小恒星,因此质量可能被低估。B选项“A New Look at Early Galaxies (重新审视早期星系)”最能概括文章主旨,是最适合的标题。 第二节(共5小题;每小题2.5分,满分12.5分) 阅读下面短文,从短文后的选项中选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。 How to Stay Disciplined (自律的) with Phone Use Staying disciplined with phone use can be challenging. Since phones are also important for communication and work, completely avoiding them is unrealistic for adults. ____36____. Set clear intentions and goals. ____37____. Then set specific goals. For example, you could limit social media to 30 minutes a day or avoid your phone during meals. Writing down these goals can make you more likely to achieve them. ____38____. Use screen-time tools to set limits on distracting (使人分心的) apps. Turn off unnecessary notifications to reduce the urge to check your phone. When studying, keep your phone out of reach. Replace screen time with reading, exercise, or face-to-face conversations. Mindful use can further improve your phone-using habits. Before reaching for your phone, ask yourself whether you really need it. Focus on one activity at a time to reduce the tendency to mindlessly scroll (滚屏). Review your screen time at the end of the day ____39____. These simple habits can help you become more aware of your behavior. Sticking to a plan to develop discipline takes time and patience. Pay attention to situations that cause unnecessary phone use, such as boredom or stress. Find healthier ways to deal with these feelings. ____40____. Instead, adjust your strategies. Gradual changes are often easier to maintain. A. Carry out practical strategies B. Decide the purpose of your phone use in advance C. The key is to learn how to use them more mindfully D. You must understand that some mistakes are normal E. If you fail to follow your plan sometimes, do not give up F. Be kind to yourself if you find it difficult to stay disciplined G. Think about whether your phone use matches your goals during your reflection 【答案】36. C 37. B 38. A 39. G 40. 注意: (1)续写词数应为150个左右; (2)请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。 Noticing the tension between Emma and Noah, Ms Carter decided to talk with them. _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ When the exhibition opened, Emma and Noah stood in front of the new oak tree they had painted. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 【答案】参考答案: Noticing the tension between Emma and Noah, Ms Carter decided to talk with them. She listened patiently before reminding them that solving a problem always mattered more than arguing about it. Her calm words gradually cooled their anger. They finally realized that blaming each other would not solve the problem. Together, they examined the art room carefully and soon found an open window beside the display table. A fallen paint bottle and dried blue paint showed that a strong wind had knocked it over. Feeling ashamed, they apologized and began painting a new oak tree. When the exhibition opened, Emma and Noah stood in front of the new oak tree they had painted. Bathed in the warm sunlight, it seemed even brighter than before, attracting many students and teachers. Ms Carter stopped in front of the painting and said that what impressed her most was not the picture itself but the teamwork behind it. Hearing those words, Emma and Noah exchanged a knowing smile. It was then that they truly understood that trust, which grows through understanding and cooperation, can turn an unexpected setback into something worth remembering. 1】Bathed in the warm sunlight, it seemed even brighter than before, attracting many students and teachers.
