（名词所有格）

一、核心知识点

定义：名词所有格常用来表示名词之间的所属关系，意为“某人的”，说明某物归某人所有。有生命的名词所有格一般在名词后直接加“’s”，以s结尾的在s后加“’”。例如：Jenny's family詹尼的家庭; the children’s clothes孩子们的衣服; the students’ books学生们的书。

注意：当表示两个或更多的人共同拥有一个事物时，只在最后一个人名后加“’s”;当表示各自拥有的物品时，则分别要在并列的人名后加“’s”。例如：

Lily and Lucy’s room莉莉和露西的房间（共同拥有一个房间）

Lily’s and Lucy’s rooms莉莉和露西的房间（两个房间，每人拥有一个）

无生命的名词所有格多采用“of+名词”的结构表达。如：the name of the cat猫的名字；the gate of our school我们学校的大门。

注意：a friend of my father’s相当于one of my father’s friends，表示我爸爸的一个朋友（不只这一个朋友）；my father’s friend表示“我爸爸的朋友”，仅仅表示爸爸的这一个朋友。

有时，名词所有格可以用“’s”表示时间或路程。例如：

a week’s holiday 一周的假期

two weeks’ holiday 两周的假期

two hours’ ride骑行两小时的路程

twenty minutes’ walk步行二十分钟的路程
