66. Good morning, everyone!
The topic of my speech today is "How to keep a good mood".
As we all know, a good mood is very important for our study and life. It can help promote our work and improve our life quality. Besides, if we are in a good mood, we will have fewer illnesses and worries. In this way, we can stay healthy and live longer.
To keep a good mood, we should do the following things. First, we should maintain a good sense of humor. Second, we should take up some hobbies, which will widen our horizons and add pleasure to our daily life. Third, it is very important for us to be friendly, communicate openly, and share our interests and pleasures with others as much as possible. Finally, we should keep calm and try to overcome our difficulties when facing them and try to make progress in our study and life.
In a word, if we can follow the above suggestions, I am sure we will have a good state of mind all the time.
That's all. Thank you!
第二节 读后续写 (满分 25 分)
67. My dad explained he had chosen a campsite that had no phone service. I realized my phone would be useless until we returned home. I would be trapped in the forest for four days with no way to connect myself with the outside world. I went from an unhappy state to anger. However, that couldn't make my phone receive the signal. I went to bed angrily that first night. But when I awoke in the morning, something had changed.
The next morning, without checking my phone as usual, I fixed my mind on nature around myself. My dad and I hiked through the forest, enjoying nature. We went fishing and swimming. I listened to stories of Dad's life. When the vacation came to an end, I realized I hadn't thought of my phone once. It dawned on me that I needed to value the moments with nature and the important persons in life. With this lesson carried to this day, I regularly pack up the tent and drive until my phone shows words: "No service."

Daniel, at age 17, is a student support captain at Armidale High School, a motivational speaker and a published author. He also has autism (自闭症), something he says doesnˈt define him but inspires him.
At just six months old Daniel had a stroke (中风) that left him physically impaired (受损的), unable to bear weight in his legs or move the left side of his body. Unable to walk and in a wheelchair until he was six years old, Daniel turned to books and could read fluently at age four.
According to the Autism Association of Western Australia, it is estimated that one in 100 people in Australia have autism. In 2018, there were 205,200 Australians with autism, a 25.1 percent increase from 164,000 in 2015.
The idea of writing a book had been in Danielˈs mind for as long as he could remember. “Itˈs been one of my long-term goals and I feel very passionate and happy about doing it,” he said. With Mumˈs help, Cracked As A Crab was born, the story of Chip, a crab who has autism and uses humour to make friends. “The response to it has been very positive. People are happy and excited for me,” Danie said.
Now a published author, Daniel has plans to write more books. Not content with sitting idle (无所事事) while most students are studying for their exams, Daniel is busy involving others in his role as student support captain. Laughter is part of the human language around the world. Unlike English or French, we donˈt have to learn to speak it, and weˈre born with the ability to laugh. Studies show that the first laughter appears at about 3.5 to 4 months of age, long before weˈre able to speak.
As the saying goes, “Laughter is the best medicine.” Best of all, this priceless medicine is fun, free and easy to use. Nothing works faster to bring your mind and body back into balance than a good laugh. It helps relax your whole body leaving your muscles relaxed for up to 45 minutes. Laughter also helps you fight against diseases. It can improve the function of blood vessels (血管) and increases blood flow, which can help protect you against a heart attack.
And the good feeling you get when you laugh remains with you even a few minutes later. It helps you keep a positive, optimistic attitude toward difficult situations, disappointments and losses. Laughter gives you the strength to find new sources of meaning and hope. Even in the most difficult days, a laugh or even simply a smile can go a long way toward making you feel better.
Shared laughter is one of the most effective tools for keeping relationships fresh and exciting. And it helps build strong and lasting relationships, and it unites people during difficult times. So itˈs necessary to create opportunities to laugh with others. More often, people are very happy to share something funny because it gives them an opportunity to laugh again. When you hear laughter, find it out and ask. “Whatˈs funny?” And you can make time for fun activities such as bowling, golfing or karaoke.
In short, the ability to laugh and have fun not only makes life more enjoyable but also helps you solve problems, connect with others, and be more creative. The more laughter there is, the more benefits youˈll receive.

Why did the cow go to Hollywood? Because it wanted to be in the moo-vies! Get it? Because. "moo" is the sound a cow makes!
This is an example of a dad joke. Anyone can make a dad joke—you donˈt have to be a parent. Most of the time itˈs just a joke that uses a very obvious and predictable pun (双关语). Dad jokes are usually thought to be pretty harmless, and maybe even cause feelings of love.
And researchers have found that humor may actually be an important tool for parents. A team from the US wanted to find out more about the effect humor can have when it is used by parents when raising their children. More than 300 people aged between 18 and 45 took part in a survey. They were asked to say whether they agreed or disagreed with a number of statements about humor in parenting. These included their memories of whether humor was used by their own parents, and if they might use it with their own children.
More than 70% of the participants said they believed humor can be a useful tool in parenting. And 55% said that they had been raised by parents who used humor in their parenting. The study also found that people whose parents used humor were more likely to say they had a good relationship with their parents. Many participants even said theyˈd like to take a course to learn about how they could use humor in parenting.
So why does it work? The researchers said family life can be stressful, and humor can be a good way to reduce stress levels in the home. But that doesnˈt just mean telling more dad jokes—humor could be used instead of anger to relieve a stressful situation, for example.

What would you say if you were the man? Well, after a moment’s embarrassment, the man said, “Don’t worry about my son. 67.阅读下面短文,根据所给情节进行续写,使之构成一个完整的故事。词数150左右,续写部分分为两段,每段开头已为你写好。
A couple of months before I started high school, my parents gave me the greatest gift any teenage boy would ask for: a cellphone. I lived on that phone all summer. I always texted my friends, even at night. And I paid no attention to the people and things around myself. Being connected to the Internet was more important than being present.
So, you can imagine my displeasure when I learned what my dad had planned for our family vacation that year. It was not the Disneyland trip or beach vacation that I had been hoping for. "This year," my dad said, "we'll be doing something special, something I used to do with my dad when I was a kid. We're going camping in the forest!"
His excitement was met with a disappointed sigh, which was my communication style at that age. But he had made the decision and would not change his mind. I comforted myself by telling myself that it was still a vacation. I remained uninfluenced when they were busy preparing for the vacation.
My mind was on my phone, the texts flying back and forth. I focused on the screen in my hands so much that the first time I looked up was when we drove across a bridge on the trip to our campsite.
I looked out of the window and saw a fast-moving river. The air blowing into the car from the open windows was hot and smelt of trees. But that didn't matter to me. The reason why I had looked up was for something far more serious and annoying. My phone no longer had service. The signal was weak. During the last hour of the drive, there was no signal at all.
