根据前文“When I was a child, being alone never made me afraid…I enjoyed walking through quiet streets and discovering something new on my own”,作者儿时独自漫步街道,不断发现新鲜事物,在角落偶遇新奇事物会带来意外惊喜,应选用surprise“惊喜”。

根据后文“There were exams and worries about the future”,考试和对未来的担忧属于学习带来的压力,应选用pressure“压力”。

look for表示“寻找”;hear from表示“收到来信”;belong to表示“属于”,代入句子语义不通。

根据后文“Instead, it gives us a chance to listen to our hearts”,此处指独处并不意味着孤独,应选用lonely“孤独的”。

Do you like DIY? Have you ever tried magazine collaging (拼贴画) ? There is a reason why it is making a big comeback. It provides an easy way to relax and make something by hand while staying away from phones and computers.
This art form, including cutting pictures out of magazines and putting them onto a piece of paper, is full of fun. One of the best things about magazine collaging is how easy it is to start. Unlike other hobbies that require expensive materials or training, you can start collaging with just a magazine, glue, and a pair of scissors.
Magazines are surely necessary materials for this hobby. If you don’t have magazines at home, find cheap or free ones at second-hand stores. You can also use junk mail, stamps, and even packaging. “These things can make your works more personalized,” says Ms. Drewett, a professional collage artist.
Once you have materials ready to go, it’s time to start cutting. What you need to do is to cut out all the pictures that interest you. Then consider having a theme to plan your pictures. Drewett says, “We explore all kinds of themes. Sometimes we focus on flowers for fun. Other times we talk about our daily life. We also get ideas from art history.”
When the pictures are well prepared, map them out on your paper. This is a fluid process and you might move things around several times. “I go back to my work again and again. It may take a few tries to get it right. Just follow your heart and enjoy yourself,” as Drewett shares. Finally, when everything looks good, use the glue to stick them on the paper, and your work of art comes to life.
Magazine collaging is less about perfection and more about enjoying the act of making and self-expression. The beauty of this hobby is that anyone can create their own works with just a few materials and an active imagination.

Every living thing needs to reproduce (繁殖). Reproducing means creating more members of your group. In order for plants to reproduce, they have to spread their seeds to other areas. Plants have developed all kinds of ways to do this.
The simplest way is gravity (重力). Many seeds are inside of fruit. When fruit gets too heavy, it falls from a tree to the ground. Sometimes animals will pick up the fruit and drop it in another area. That helps move the seed even farther away. Apples spread this way.
Other plants use wind to spread their seeds. Dandelions (蒲公英) are a good example of this. Dandelion seeds are so light that when wind blows, it carries dandelion seeds to new places. Maple (枫树) seeds also use wind. Their seeds are connected with long, thin leaves that look like wings. When the seed falls from the tree, its “wings” help it fly farther from the tree.
Some animals help plants spread their seeds. The animals eat the seeds. While the seed is in the animal’s body, it stays whole. When the seed leaves the animal, it’s in a new place.
Ants also help spread seeds. Some seeds have a special smell that attracts ants. The ants bring the seeds back to their home, which of course is underground. They only eat part of the seed. They leave the rest of the seed underground. After that, the seed can start growing.
41. When fruit gets heavy enough, it will fall from a tree to the ground because of gravity.
42. All plants can spread seeds by themselves.
43. Wind helps apple and dandelion seeds to fly farther to new places.
44. Some animals eat seeds, and it is helpful for seeds to spread.
45. The passage is mainly about the relationship between animals and plants.

第二段中提到“When fruit gets too heavy, it falls from a tree to the ground.”,且该段标题为“The simplest way is gravity”,可知果实足够重时会因重力从树上落到地面,此题正确,判“T”。
第四段中提到“Some animals help plants spread their seeds. The animals eat the seeds... When the seed leaves the animal, it’s in a new place.”,可知动物吃种子有助于种子传播,此题正确,判“T”。

The purpose of most cheats is to steal personal information and money. They may also try to lead you to download some apps. But the apps may be harmful to your mobile phone. Some apps can steal your information and take control of your mobile phone.
It’s reported that over 3.5 million smishing messages are sent out every day. But the cheats have no power over you unless you trust them. Some cheats even do research on victims (受害者) so that they sound more real.
If you check your message and can’t make sure whether it’s safe, ask yourself these questions: Was I expecting this message? Are there any ways for me to find out who the sender is? Don’t join the millions of people who lose a lot from smishing every year. Stop and think before you click that link.

43. Wind helps apple and dandelion seeds to fly farther to new places.

But she just wouldn’t take it.” However, Horner was adamant (坚决的), and finally, he put the money in her hand and walked away.
Then he heard their young daughter call out to ask Horner if he was hungry. Certainly he was, and she came over with a sandwich in a box. She gave the sandwich to Horner and then got into the truck, and the family started to drive away.
As the family got into traffic, Horner opened the box of the sandwich and found the bill he had given them inside. His eyes were wet. He knew that he met a real kind family on that day.
