【答案】17.A 18.C 19.A 20.B
【原文】In a nature reserve, Jana Johnson, a biology professor at Moorpark College, searches for the Palos Verdes blue butterfly, one of the world’s rarest butterflies. The butterfly was once thought extinct. A researcher discovered about 100 of the tiny blue butterflies on the Navy land at the edge of San Pedro in 1994. That researcher started a butterfly project, which Jana Johnson took over in 2006. Jana’s butterfly project breeds thousands of the species and then releases them at various stages in their lives at several locations on the Palos Verdes Peninsula. “The main reason for the extinction of this species is the loss of habitat,” Jana says. “The endangered blue butterfly is important,” says Cris Sarabia, conservation director at the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy. “It’s part of the life cycle and the food chain, and it’s something that we work to restore land for.” Today, the project is showing great results. There are now hundreds of butterflies on the original Navy land, and they have been spotted at several other wild sites. This success shows that with enough care and space, endangered species can truly recover.

Most 10-year-olds spend their free time playing video games, but Ernesto Gael Hernandez, from Brownsville, Texas, is busy running his own 3D printing business and dreaming of buying his mom a house someday.
What began as a fun way to make custom keychains for classmates has quickly grown into a successful small business. Based in his home workshop, Ernesto creates various customized items, such as keychains, whistles, can openers and stress-relief toys for people with anxiety and ADHD (多动症).
This idea first took shape several months ago, when he told his mother that he wanted to buy a 3D printer. Instead of simply buying him a machine, she encouraged him to work and save for it himself. He saved $500 from chores to buy his first printer. It was then that he came up with the idea of making money from 3D printing, thus launching his brand, Prestige 3D Labs. He even taught himself to create custom designs by watching online tutorials (教程).
Business has grown fast. He has earned around $1,500 in profit so far and demand became so strong that he partnered with a local Brownsville clothing store called Jungle to help sell his creations. Now, three printers run regularly to keep up with orders coming in.
Despite business success, Ernesto sticks to a tight schedule to balance his business, schoolwork and football training. With printing tasks arranged early in the morning, during school days and before practice, he succeeds in running his business steadily.
For Ernesto’s mother, Samantha Quezada, the business has become more than just a way for her son to earn money. “It’s a little bit stressful, but honestly I enjoy we get to do it together,” Quezada said. “It is part of our quality time.” But for Ernesto, his motivation is surprisingly heartfelt. “I just like doing it because I want to invest in a house for my mom when I grow older,” Ernesto said.
24.What does Ernesto’s 3D printing business mainly do?
A.It prints keychains for classmates. B.It produces daily household items.
C.It creates a range of mood-lifting products. D.It tailors various products to customers’ needs.
25.What inspired Ernesto to start his business?
A.His dream of buying a house for his mother.
B.His experience of saving money to buy the printer.
C.The decision to make keychains for his classmates.
D.The high profit from selling all kinds of small products.
26.Which of the following can best describe Ernesto?
A.Ambitious and organized. B.Caring and generous.
C.Hard-working and humorous. D.Adventurous and creative.
27.What is the best title for the passage?
A.Hard Work Creates a Teen’s Success B.Business Builds Close Family Bonds
C.3D Skills Open a Whole New World D.3D Printing Shapes a Teen’s Dream House
【答案】24.D 25.B 26.A 27.D
【导语】本文主要介绍了一位10岁男孩Ernesto通过自学3D打印技术成功创业,并梦想以此赚钱为母亲买房的励志故事。
【详解】24.细节理解题。根据第二段“Based in his home workshop, Ernesto creates various customized items, such as keychains, whistles, can openers and stress-relief toys for people with anxiety and ADHD (多动症). (在家中的工作室里,Ernesto制作各种定制物品,例如钥匙链、哨子、开瓶器,以及为患有焦虑症和多动症人群设计的减压玩具)”可知,他的业务主要是根据客户需求定制各种产品。
25.细节理解题。根据第三段“He saved $500 from chores to buy his first printer. It was then that he came up with the idea of making money from 3D printing, thus launching his brand, Prestige 3D Labs. (他通过做家务攒下500美元买了第一台打印机。就在那时,他萌生了通过3D打印赚钱的想法,从而推出了他的品牌Prestige 3D Labs)”可知,激发他创业的直接原因是他通过自己攒钱买打印机的经历。

(Ernesto说:“我只是喜欢做这件事,因为我想长大后给妈妈投资买一套房子。”)”可知,他非常有抱负。
27.主旨大意题。根据第一段“Most 10-year-olds spend their free time playing video games, but Ernesto Gael Hernandez, from Brownsville, Texas, is busy running his own 3D printing business and dreaming of buying his mom a house someday. C
A few months ago, I had a serious period of post-vacation blues after a trip to Italy. I’d been surrounded by beauty and history for a week — so much so that it was truly breathtaking. There’s a word for what I was feeling: awe.
As it turns out, that awe was actually good for me. Studies show awe — a sense of being amazed by something great — improves our mental and physical health by reducing inflammation (炎症) and creating a sense of connection. A 2025 study from King’s College London has identified a simple activity that can help us feel awe and lower our stress in 20 minutes or less: looking at art. The study found that viewing art can decrease our stress by calming the nervous system and decreasing cortisol (皮质醇) levels. Those cortisol levels are particularly noteworthy: they dropped by an average of 22% in people who viewed original paintings.
When we’re stressed, our brains are either actively looking for threats or doing a whole lot of overthinking. But art can shift that state. Elizabeth Mateer, a brain researcher at Harvard Medical School, says: “When you look at art, especially something beautiful or surprising, your attention is caught. You’re no longer locked onto whatever was stressing you out.” Authentic art experiences activate our body’s defense systems in a way that helps us feel both energetic and relaxed.
Specifically, looking at art acts like a switch. It takes us out of “fight or flight” mode, allows our calming system to take over and ultimately helps us recover. Furthermore, looking at art can help us get out of our own heads. For those who are anxious, this can be a much-needed break from racing thoughts that keep us out of the present moment. Instead of being locked onto the same worry, you’re engaging with beauty or meaning. To save these moments is to find a way back to peace.
28.What did the 2025 study from King’s College London discover?
A.Post-vacation blues could be serious. B.Art viewing reduced mental stress levels.
C.Cortisol levels increased when traveling. D.Stress connected with history and beauty.
29.What is Elizabeth Mateer’s attitude toward viewing art?
A.Cautious. B.Unclear.
C.Doubtful. D.Positive.
30.How does looking at art affect people’s mental state?
A.It brings out creative ideas. B.It reflects the potential worry.
C.It helps focus on the present. D.It encourages racing thoughts.
31.Which of the following is the best title for the text?
A.Look Less, Feel More B.The Healing Power of Awe
C.The Truth About Brain Stress D.A Quick Fix for a Busy Mind
【答案】28.B 29.D 30.C 31.B
【导语】文章主要讲述敬畏感对身心有益,研究表明欣赏艺术可缓解压力,解释艺术如何调节大脑状态帮助人们重获内心平静。
【详解】28.细节理解题。根据第二段中“A 2025 study from King’s College London has identified a simple activity that can help us feel awe and lower our stress in 20 minutes or less: looking at art.(伦敦国王学院2025年的一项研究发现一项简单活动:欣赏艺术,可在20分钟甚至更短时间内帮助我们产生敬畏感、减轻压力。)”可知,研究发现欣赏艺术能够减轻精神压力。
29.推理判断题。根据第三段中“When you look at art, especially something beautiful or surprising, your attention is caught. You’re no longer locked onto whatever was stressing you out.(当你欣赏艺术,尤其是美好或令人惊叹的作品时,你的注意力会被吸引,不再困于那些令你倍感压力的事情。)”可知,Elizabeth Mateer认为欣赏艺术对缓解压力有作用,态度是积极的。
30.细节理解题。根据第三段中“When you look at art, especially something beautiful or surprising, your attention is caught. You’re no longer locked onto whatever was stressing you out.(当你欣赏艺术,尤其是美好或令人惊叹的作品时,你的注意力会被吸引,不再困于那些令你倍感压力的事情。)”和第四段中“For those who are anxious, this can be a much‑needed break from racing thoughts that keep us out of the present moment.(对于焦虑的人来说,这可以让我们从扰乱当下的纷乱思绪中得到急需的喘息。)”

Exams are nerve-racking, especially for those already of an anxious character. It seems barely surprising that those who worry about taking tests do systematically worse than those who do not. What is, perhaps, surprising, according to research published recently in Psychological Science by Maria Theobald, is that it is not the pressure of the exam hall but the pressure of revision that causes the problem.
Dr Theobald theorized that if anxiety was truly interfering with a student’s ability to transfer known information from brain to paper via pen, then those with high levels of it would perform worse in a real exam than in either a mock (模考) beforehand or during online practice sessions. Besides, she expected this performance-drop to correlate with levels of self-reported exam nerves.
She therefore worked with 309 German medical students who were preparing for their final state exam, the most important that they take. This test consists of 230 questions split into three five-hour sessions over three days.
All her volunteers sat a mock examination, clearly presented to them as such, 40 days before the real thing. To assess their levels of anxiety, they were asked, every day for 40 days in the run-up to the real exam and also on the day of that exam, to respond on a five-point scale to statements like, “I feel tense and nervous.” On the day of the mock they were similarly asked to rate statements like, “I worry whether I have studied enough.”
What Dr Theobald found was not what she expected. Anxiety on the day of test did not predict exam performance at all. What did predict it was the level of knowledge a student displayed in the mock exam and the earlier digital-learning activities. Those who performed well in these also did well in the real thing, regardless of how anxious they were on the day. What actually hampered students, it turned out, were high levels of anxiety during the weeks before the exam took place.
And this discovery is far-reaching, for it suggests a change of approach to revision by the anxious might help improve their results. Dr Theobald notes that test-anxiety is at its worst when students have low expectations of success and simultaneously (同时地) know that passing the exam is exceedingly important.
32.What is paragraph 2 of the text mainly about?
A.The theoretical basis. B.The research result.
C.The testing assumption. D.The experimental process.
33.What can we infer from the research?
A.Anxiety before the exam brings better exam performance.
B.Anxiety before the exam restricts students’ ability in exams.
C.Anxiety on the day of the test predicts the result of the exam.
D.Anxiety on the day of the test intervenes in students’ ability in exams.
34.What is the author’s attitude toward Dr Theobald’s study?
A.Favorable. B.Unclear. C.Doubtful. D.Dismissive.
35.What will the following paragraph probably talk about according to the passage?
A.How to carry out revision plans scientifically.
B.How to reduce test-anxiety when reviewing.
C.How to get satisfying scores well in exams.
D.How to ease study pressure before tests.
【答案】32.C 33.B 34.A 35.B
【导语】文章介绍了一项考试焦虑相关研究,指出影响考试成绩的是备考焦虑而非考场焦虑,并说明该研究的价值与焦虑高发的原因。
【详解】32.主旨大意题。根据第二段“Dr Theobald theorized that if anxiety was truly interfering with a student’s ability to transfer known information from brain to paper via pen, then those with high levels of it would perform worse in a real exam than in either a mock (模考) beforehand or during online practice sessions. Besides, she expected this performance-drop to correlate with levels of self-reported exam nerves.(西奥博尔德博士提出理论假设:如果焦虑确实会干扰学生将脑中已知知识通过笔书写到试卷上的能力,那么高度焦虑的学生在正式考试中的表现会比此前模考和线上练习时更差。此外,她推测这种成绩下滑会与学生自述的考试紧张程度相关)”可知,第二段主要介绍了研究者开展实验前的理论假设与猜想。
33.推理判断题。根据第五段“What actually hampered students, it turned out, were high levels of anxiety during the weeks before the exam took place.(结果发现,真正阻碍学生发挥的是考试前数周的高度焦虑)”可知,考前的焦虑会限制学生的考试发挥、影响考试表现。
34.推理判断题。根据最后一段“And this discovery is far-reaching, for it suggests a change of approach to revision by the anxious might help improve their results.(这一发现意义深远,因为它表明焦虑的学生改变复习方式或许有助于提升成绩)”可知,作者认可这项研究的价值,对该研究持支持、赞同的态度。
35.推理判断题。根据最后一段“Dr Theobald notes that test-anxiety is at its worst when students have low expectations of success and simultaneously (同时地) know that passing the exam is exceedingly important.(西奥博尔德博士指出,当学生对考试成功的预期较低,同时又深知通过考试至关重要时,考试焦虑会达到顶峰)”可知,文章结尾落脚于备考阶段的考试焦虑问题,下文最有可能介绍复习时如何缓解考试焦虑。
第二节(共5小题:每小题2. 5分, 满分12. 5分)
阅读下面短文, 从短文后的选项中选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。
Trying new things and taking on challenges can make your brain sharper. 36 . Here are four more benefits of being an adventure seeker.
You will adapt to change more easily.
37 . They enjoy engaging with unfamiliar things, are naturally curious about the world, and creatively adapt to change instead of being fearful of it.
38 .
Participating in an adventurous physical activity can lead to higher levels of what experts call self-efficacy, or a belief in your abilities. Other types of adventure — running for public office, doing improv (即兴表演) at your local comedy club, or taking virtual singing lessons — build your confidence, too. The more you push past your comfort zone and feel proud of yourself for doing so, the more confident you’ll become.
You will feel more content with life.
Adventurous people tend to have stronger feelings of satisfaction about how they’re living their lives. “ 39 ,” says Frank Farley, a professor at Temple University. “That is because participating in something challenging is associated with pleasure — even when the activity itself is difficult, completing it brings joy.”
You will feel a sense of flow.
When you’re in the zone, meaning highly focused and engaged, everything else except what you’re concentrating on falls away, and a general sense of well-being takes over. This feel-good state is known as the flow, and research shows that participants in adventure sports are able to achieve it. If your brain is in the flow state, rhythmic spikes of dopamine, which is associated with engagement and pleasure, are likely to occur. 40 .
A.You will gain more confidence
B.They always have a sense of happiness
C.You will step out of your comfort zone
D.And that’s just one of the many things adventure does for you
E.Over time, adventurous activities may actually improve your health
F.Even better, those positive feelings can last beyond the activity itself
G.People who are drawn to thrill-seeking activities tend to accept uncertainty more easily

37.根据后文“They enjoy engaging with unfamiliar things, are naturally curious about the world, and creatively adapt to change instead of being fearful of it.(他们喜欢接触陌生的事物,天生对世界充满好奇,并且能够创造性地适应变化,而不是害怕改变)”以及标题“You will adapt to change more easily.(你将更容易适应变化)”可知,本段主旨是你会更容易适应变化,空后描述这类人的特点是乐于接触陌生事物、主动适应变化而非恐惧,G项“喜欢追求刺激活动的人往往更容易接受不确定性”契合段落主题,衔接后文。
38.根据后文“Participating in an adventurous physical activity can lead to higher levels of what experts call self-efficacy, or a belief in your abilities. Other types of adventure — running for public office, doing improv (即兴表演) at your local comedy club, or taking virtual singing lessons — build your confidence, too. The more you push past your comfort zone and feel proud of yourself for doing so, the more confident you’ll become.(参与充满挑战的体育活动可以提升专家所说的自我效能感,即对自己能力的信心。其他类型的冒险活动——比如竞选公职、在本地喜剧俱乐部进行即兴表演,或参加线上唱歌课程——同样有助于增强你的自信心。你越能突破舒适区,并为自己所取得的成就感到自豪,就越会变得自信)”可知,空处是本段小标题,本段内容讲述各类冒险活动能提升自我效能感、帮你建立自信,A项“你会获得更多自信”准确概括段落核心内容。
39.根据上文“Adventurous people tend to have stronger feelings of satisfaction about how they’re living their lives.(冒险的人往往对自己的生活状态感到更加满足)”以及后文“That is because participating in something challenging is associated with pleasure — even when the activity itself is difficult, completing it brings joy.(这是因为参与一项具有挑战性的活动会带来愉悦感——即使活动本身很困难,完成它也会让人感到快乐)”可知,前文提到爱冒险的人对生活的满足感更强,空后教授解释参与有挑战性的事哪怕过程艰难,完成后也会带来快乐,B项“他们总是有幸福感”呼应上下文关于满足、愉悦的表述。
40.根据上文“When you’re in the zone, meaning highly focused and engaged, everything else except what you’re concentrating on falls away, and a general sense of well-being takes over. This feel-good state is known as the flow, and research shows that participants in adventure sports are able to achieve it. If your brain is in the flow state, rhythmic spikes of dopamine, which is associated with engagement and pleasure, are likely to occur.(当你处于“心流”状态时,即高度专注且全神贯注,其他一切事物都会被抛在脑后,取而代之的是一种普遍的愉悦感。这种令人感到愉快的状态被称为“心流”,研究表明,参与冒险运动的人能够达到这种状态。当你的大脑进入心流状态时,与专注和愉悦相关的多巴胺会呈现出规律性的爆发)”可知,前文介绍心流状态下大脑会产生和投入、愉悦相关的多巴胺,F项“更棒的是,这些积极的感受甚至在活动结束后依然会延续”承接前文的愉悦状态,语义递进。

【答案】Possible version 1:
Travel Far, Know More
The old saying “A person who travels far knows more” reveals distance is measured in the widening of our minds.
Last year, I hiked along the ancient Silk Road in Xinjiang. Standing before a weathered beacon tower in the Gobi Desert, I sensed the loneliness of ancient guards. Running my fingers over the rough bricks, I felt centuries of dust come alive. Later, I was offered warm flatbread by a hospitable local Uyghur family.
That far journey didn’t just open my eyes; it opened my heart to lives and stories no books could capture. That is the true reward of traveling far.
Possible version 2:
Travel Far, Know More
The proverb “A person who travels far knows more” suggests stepping out of our comfort zone exposes us to realities beyond books.
I learned this truth in a remote village, planting rice alongside locals. We worked for hours in the muddy fields, until my back ached and my legs were covered with mosquito bites. I came to help, but left knowing the cost of every grain and the warmth of strangers.
I learned traveling far isn’t about distance, but about stepping into others’ life and reflecting on ours.

第二节(满分25分)
67.阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。
I was very excited the first time I went inside a body of water. I was out with a group of friends and we just decided to go swimming. What they didn’t know was that it was my first time. So I lost control quickly. I struggled in the water for a few seconds, trying my possible best to get control of my body to avoid drowning. After a few seconds, luckily, I found my feet — literally.
I stood up, and that was it. I just couldn’t afford to trust the water anymore.
After that experience, I was never interested in going swimming again.
Ten years later, I was looking through my notebooks one day and I saw a note where I wrote things I was going to try. It was written during my 21st birthday. One of the things I wrote was that I was going to learn how to swim. It is exactly six years since I wrote those things down. And apart from starting my first business, I haven’t finished doing up to ten per cent of the things I wrote.
So I decided that I was going to start crossing off the things written on that list as soon as I could.
That was when I decided to go swimming again.
Unlike before, I made plans for it. I decided beforehand that no excuse was going to stop me this time. I made sure I finished all the tasks I had at work. I didn’t want any excuse to tie me down this time.
So I decided on the pool I was going to use, which was about 1.5 metres deep. I bought my swimming gear. I told some of my friends and even got some to come along with me. I just didn’t want to chicken out at the last minute and I wanted to overcome my fear of water.
注意:
续写词数应为150左右。
Paragraph 1:
When the day came, I went into the water.
____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Paragraph 2:
I have learnt a lot from my swimming experience.
____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
【答案】Paragraph 1:
When the day came, I went into the water. Once in the water, the terrible memory went back to me quickly and my mind got confused. It seemed that I would never learn to swim. However, I suddenly remembered what I had promised myself. I kept telling myself that I wasn’t going to drown and my friends were there to encourage me to relax. I made it. I was so happy, not just because of the swimming experience, but because I had overcome my fear of water.
Paragraph 2:
I have learnt a lot from my swimming experience. That experience made me realise that the only limitation we have is the one that we place over ourselves in our minds. In other words, if I could overcome my fear of water, I can go ahead and live my life without limits. That means every other thing I wrote down on that list can be finished as well. And since then, I have managed to do a great number of things that I didn’t think I could do before.

37 . They enjoy engaging with unfamiliar things, are naturally curious about the world, and creatively adapt to change instead of being fearful of it.
38 .
Participating in an adventurous physical activity can lead to higher levels of what experts call self-efficacy, or a belief in your abilities.

第一节
Possible version 1:
第二节 (满分25分)
Paragraph 1:
When the day came, I went into the water.
