A.The Smartwatch has the longest battery life among the three products. B.The Tablet is the cheapest of the three products. C.The Wireless Earphones are too big to carry. D.The three products are not useful. 2.“Tablet”的介绍部分中“Introduction”明确说明功能:“read e-books, watch videos, play games, and do homework”,与选项C完全一致。 3. (Wireless Earphones“small and easy to carry”),D错误(产品均有实用功能)。 B The Strait of Hormuz (霍尔木兹海峡) is a narrow but very important waterway. It lies between Iran (伊朗) and Oman (阿曼), and is only about 33 kilometers wide at its narrowest point. It is the only sea route that connects the Persian Gulf (波斯湾) to the Indian Ocean, making it a key path for world trade. This strait is often called the world’s most important “energy throat.” It carries over 20% of the world’s oil that moves by sea, as well as a lot of natural gas. These resources mainly go to countries in Asia and Europe, helping to run their industries and homes. Because it is so narrow and busy, keeping it open and safe is very important for the world’s energy supply. Recently, problems in the area have shown how easily things can change. When tensions rise, fewer ships dare to pass through. With fewer ships, the global supply of oil and gas goes down. This leads to higher energy prices around the world, which means people pay more for electricity and fuel. Experts say that if the strait faces a big problem, it could cause serious energy shortages for many countries. In short, the Strait of Hormuz is a key point for the world’s energy. What happens there affects the global economy, showing us just how special and important this narrow waterway is. 5.Where is the Strait of Hormuz located? A.Between China and Japan. B.Between India and Pakistan. C.Between Iran and Oman. D.Between Europe and Africa. 6.In the passage, the phrase “energy throat” is used to describe the strait. What does this most likely mean? A.A place that is shaped like a neck. B.A narrow and very important passage for energy transport. C.A place where people talk about energy. D.A source of energy underground. 7.What has happened recently in the Strait of Hormuz area that affects shipping? A.The water has become too shallow for big ships to sail through. B.The weather conditions have become much worse than before. C.Tensions have risen, causing fewer ships to pass through safely. D.New and safer shipping routes have opened in other places. 8.What is the main idea of the passage? A.The history of trade in the Middle East. B.The countries located around the Persian Gulf. C.How to build safer ships for sailing through narrow waterways. D.The importance of the Strait of Hormuz for global energy supply and its impact. 5.第一段明确提到:“It lies between Iran and Oman”,即霍尔木兹海峡位于伊朗和阿曼之间。 6.第二段指出该海峡“carries over 20% of the world’s oil that moves by sea, as well as a lot of natural gas”,结合“throat”(咽喉)的比喻义,“energy throat”指能源运输的狭窄且关键通道。 7.第三段提到:“Recently, problems in the area have shown how easily things can change. When tensions rise, fewer ships dare to pass through”,即区域紧张局势导致更少船只安全通过。 8. C Every morning Mario visited his neighbor, Mr. Harper. Together they sat at the edge of his garden on the hill, looking down at the port (港口). They made a game of noticing Mario’s dad as he unloaded the morning catch, and Mr. Harper’s daughter, Fiona, as she cleaned the fish one after another. Mario’s dad loved the ocean. He’d say, “Listen, Mario, the ocean’s saying good morning.” The waves would whisper: O-mor-ning. O-mor-ning. Mario always returned the greeting, “Good morning, ocean.” But on the day the big wave came, the ocean didn’t whisper. It roared (咆哮). Everyone lost someone that day. It took Mario’s dad, Fiona, and it even took Mario’s voice. Silence hung over the village like a dark, heavy cloud. Spring came. Here and there stood peach trees that broke into beautiful flowers of pink. One day, Tap-tap-tap. Bang-bang-bang. Mario watched from his window. Mr. Harper was building something in his garden. But that? It was a phone booth (电话亭), painted white and with many panes of glass. Mr. Harper went inside and his voice floated out. “Fiona? It’s your father. I miss you.” Mario couldn’t understand what he was saying. Fiona had been taken away by the ocean, just like Mario’s dad. When Mr. Harper left, Mario crept inside. An old-fashioned phone sat on a table. No plugs, no wires. It was a phone connected to nowhere. Mr. Harper visited his phone booth every day. Soon other villagers did too. They lifted the receiver to their ears and their voices floated on the wind. “Hello, cousin. Today I fixed the boat. I’ll fish again soon.” “Sister, how’re you? I rode your bike today. It fits me now.” For the first time since the big wave came, Mario wanted to use his voice. He went down to the port and screamed at the ocean. “Bring our people back!” Still, the waves lapped gently. O-mor-ning. O-mor-ning. Mr.Harper’s phone booth sat high on the hill like a lighthouse. Mario walked up the hill and finally stopped at the door of the white phone booth. It was a place he had visited but never truly entered. Taking a deep breath, he pulled the door, lifted the receiver to his ear and said. “Dad. It’s Mario. Today, I screamed at the ocean. Still, it whispered O-mor-ning. O-mor-ning.” Tears filled his eyes. “Dad, I miss you,” he said softly. Then he walked out of the booth. The dark and heavy clouds gradually faded away and life was quietly coming back to the village. 9.What’s the right order of the events? a. Mario watched Mr. Harper build something in his garden. b. Mario walked down to the port and shouted at the ocean. c. Mario entered the white phone booth and spoke. d. The big wave took Mario’s dad and Fiona away. e. Mario saw Mr. Harper talk inside the phone booth. A.d→a→e→b→c B.d→e→a→b→c C.a→d→e→b→c D.a→d→b→e→c 10.How did Mario feel after he spoke in the white phone booth? A.Surprised. B.Relaxed. C.Disappointed. D.Excited. 11.What can we infer (推断) from the passage? A.Mario never spoke to anyone again after the big wave. B.The villagers went to the booth to share feelings with the dead. C.The phone booth finally brought the lost people back to the village. D.Mr. Harper built the phone booth to help Mario find his voice again. 12.What’s the best title for the passage? A.The Terrible Big Wave B.Mario’s Kind Neighbor C.A Phone Booth on the Hill D.Love Beyond Life and Death 【答案】9.A 10.B 11.B 12.C 【导语】本文是一篇记叙文,讲述巨浪夺走村民亲人后,Harper先生在山上搭建电话亭,村民在这里向逝去的亲人倾诉思念,慢慢走出悲伤的故事。 根据文章第二段“It took Mario’s dad, Fiona, and it even took Mario’s voice.”可知,最先发生的是巨浪夺走了Mario的爸爸和Fiona;根据第三段“Mario watched from his window. Mr. Harper was building something in his garden.” Harper went inside and his voice floated out. ‘Fiona? It’s your father. I miss you.’”可知,之后Mario看到Harper先生在建好的电话亭里说话;根据第七段“He went down to the port and screamed at the ocean.”可知,接着Mario去到港口对着大海大喊;根据第七段“Taking a deep breath, he pulled the door, lifted the receiver to his ear and said. ‘Dad. It’s Mario....’” ‘Dad, I miss you,’ he said softly. Then he walked out of the booth.”以及第八段“The dark and heavy clouds gradually faded away and life was quietly coming back to the village.” 根据文章第四段“Soon other villagers did too. They lifted the receiver to their ears and their voices floated on the wind.”,以及后文村民对着电话说的“Hello, cousin. Today I fixed the boat. I’ll fish again soon.”和“Sister, how’re you? I rode your bike today. It fits me now.”,可推知村民们去电话亭是为了和逝去的亲人分享自己的生活与感受。 12. D The 2026 World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC, 世界人工智能大会) was held in Shanghai from July 17th to 20th. But a scientist says we are wrong to think it is always bad. Feeling nervous is not an illness. It is a useful feeling from our ancestors. It helps us to think about the future and get ready for it. When you feel nervous before a big test, it makes you study harder. Your heart beats faster to send blood to your brain, so you can think more clearly. 17 For example, a parent might stop taking a child on a plane because the child is scared. But this doesn’t help the child learn to deal with the fear. A better way is to help the child face the problem little by little. 18 In one study, some people saw their nervousness as a helpful sign. These people did better when giving a speech. Their bodies were calmer, and they felt more confident. This shows that if we believe nervousness can help us, our body will follow. 19 When you are worried, your body makes a hormone (荷尔蒙) that makes you want to be with others. So, talking to a friend or family member can make you feel better. Holding a loved one’s hand can even calm your brain. 20 Having a goal, like joining a school team or learning a new skill, can turn your nervousness into energy. People who try to be excellent, not perfect, are happier and more creative. They use their nervousness to keep going, just like Thomas Edison did when he failed many times. So, don’t try to get rid of (摆脱) nervousness. Learn to use it. It can help you do better and live a happier life. A.Nervousness can also push you to be more creative. B.Another way to use nervousness is to get support from others. C.Trying to run away from nervousness is not a good idea. D.Finally, having a purpose in life can help you use nervousness well. E.Learning about nervousness can also help you use it in a right way. 后文提到“For example, a parent might stop taking a child on a plane because the child is scared. But this doesn’t help the child learn to deal with the fear. A better way is to help the child face the problem little by little.”,通过举例说明逃避紧张情绪无法解决问题,此处需要一个能引出本段主题的总起句。选项C“Trying to run away from nervousness is not a good idea.” 18.后文提到“In one study, some people saw their nervousness as a helpful sign. These people did better when giving a speech. Their bodies were calmer, and they felt more confident. This shows that if we believe nervousness can help us, our body will follow.”,通过研究说明了解紧张情绪的积极作用能帮助我们更好地利用它,选项E“Learning about nervousness can also help you use it in a right way.” 19.后文提到“When you are worried, your body makes a hormone that makes you want to be with others. So, talking to a friend or family member can make you feel better. Holding a loved one’s hand can even calm your brain.”,说明了向他人寻求支持是应对紧张情绪的有效方法,选项B“Another way to use nervousness is to get support from others.” 20.后文提到“Having a goal, like joining a school team or learning a new skill, can turn your nervousness into energy.”,说明了设定目标能将紧张情绪转化为动力,选项D“Finally, having a purpose in life can help you use nervousness well.” Last summer, I joined a city wildlife club. Many foreigners at that time said no. Zhan Tianyou proved them wrong. Zhan was born in Guangzhou in 1861. At the age of twelve, he became one of the first Chinese children sent to study in the United States. He worked so hard that he was admitted to Yale University, where he studied railway engineering. After returning home, however, he found few chances to use his knowledge, because almost no railways in China were designed by Chinese engineers at that time. In 1905, the Qing government decided to build a railway from Beijing to Zhangjiakou. Several foreign companies wanted the project, and some even said mockingly (嘲讽地) that the Chinese engineer who could build it “had not been born yet”. Zhan took the job. The biggest challenge lay in the steep (陡峭的) mountains around Badaling. The railway had to climb nearly six hundred metres within a short distance, but trains at that time were not powerful enough for such a slope (斜坡). After careful surveys, Zhan designed a clever “人”-shaped track. The train would move forward up one slope, then backward up another, climbing higher step by step, just like someone walking up stairs. He also refused to copy foreign designs blindly. Based on his own surveys, he shortened some tunnels and chose safer routes, saving both money and time. In 1909, the railway was completed two years ahead of schedule and cost less than planned. Today, a statue of Zhan Tianyou stands beside the Badaling Great Wall. He is remembered not only as the father of China’s railways, but also as an example showing that confidence and creativity can really move mountains. 41.How old was Zhan Tianyou when he was sent to study in the United States? 42.How did Zhan Tianyou deal with the biggest challenge around Badaling? 43.According to the passage, what can move mountains? 44.What can you learn from Zhan Tianyou for your own study? Give your reason (s). Write 30 words or more. 41.He was twelve / 12 years old. 42.He designed a clever “人”‑shaped track after careful surveys. 43.Confidence and creativity (can move mountains). 44.We should be hard‑working, confident and creative in our study. Zhan Tianyou worked hard and solved difficult problems with creative ideas. We shouldn’t give up when facing difficulties. We need to think independently instead of copying others’ answers blindly. 根据第二段“At the age of twelve, he became one of the first Chinese children sent to study in the United States.” 42.根据第四段“After careful surveys, Zhan designed a clever “人”-shaped track.” 43.根据最后一段“…but also as an example showing that confidence and creativity can really move mountains.” Dear Li Hui, I often talk back (顶嘴) to my teachers when I disagree with them.
