三、阅读理解(本大题共15小题,每小题2分,共30分)
A
Have you ever wondered why some people succeed while others struggle? The secret often lies in their daily habits. Small, continuous actions can lead to big changes over time.
For example, reading just 20 minutes a day might not seem like much, but in a year, you could finish over 10books! Similarly, exercising for just 15 minutes daily can improve your health and energy levels. These small habits, when repeated, create a powerful impact.
The key is to start small and stay consistent. If you try to change too much at once, it can feel overwhelming (难以应对、不知所措).Instead, focus on building one habit at a time. For instance, if you want to improve your English, start by learning five new words a day. Over time, your vocabulary will grow, and you'll feel more confident.
It's also important to track(追踪)your progress. Write down what you do each day, and celebrate small wins. This will keep you motivated(有积极性的)and help you see how far you've come
Remember, success isn't about making huge changes overnight. It's about taking small steps every day. As the saying goes, "Rome wasn't built in a day." Start today, and you'll be amazed at what you can achieve!

Advice for Stressed Teenagers
Nowadays, many junior high schools set up psychology rooms to help students deal with teenage troubles. A survey shows three main worries for Grade Nine learners: body changes, friendship fights and heavy study tasks.
Many teens feel uncomfortable about their changing looks and often stay in low spirits. Some students have arguments with their friends and fear losing their only partners. What's more, piles of homework and monthly exams bring lots of tiredness and anxiety to almost every ninth grader.
School youth workers share practical suggestions for students. First, cut back on short videos and make daily time plans to balance study and hobbies. Spare 30 minutes every day for your favourite sports to relax your brain.Second, communicate honestly with your family after both sides cool down. Shouting will only make conflicts worse. Third, visit the school psychology room on Thursday afternoons if you cannot solve your worries alone. The workers there will keep your secrets and offer free, useful advice. Remember you are never the only one with teenage problems.

Have you ever felt that your parents just don't understand you? You are not alone. Many teenagers experience conflicts with their parents as they grow up and try to find their own identity. This period of life is often called the “generation gap”.
The generation gap refers to the differences in opinions, values, and attitudes between young people and their parents. For example, parents might prefer traditional music, while teenagers enjoy modern pop. Parents may value

hard work and saving money, but teenagers might want to spend on fashion and entertainment. These differences can lead to arguments at home.
However, experts say that the generation gap is not necessarily a bad thing. It shows that young people are developing their own ideas and independence. The key is to communicate openly and respectfully with each other.Parents can try to understand their children's perspectives, and teenagers can also make an effort to see things from their parents' point of view.
One effective way to bridge the gap is to spend quality time together as a family. This could be as simple as having dinner together without distractions like phones or TV. During these moments, family members can share their thoughts and feelings in a relaxed environment.
Another helpful tip is to choose the right time to talk. If you want to discuss something important, avoid doing it when one of you is tired or angry. Instead, wait for a calm moment when everyone is ready to listen.
Remember, your parents love you and want the best for you. Even if you disagree on certain things, the love between you remains. With patience and understanding, the generation gap can become a bridge rather than a wall.

He thought I was a ghost.” Ben laughed. “He ran off, and this gave me time to get back to the squire(乡绅) and the doctor. They were waiting at the cave.”
“I know,” I said to the doctor, “Why you gave the map to Silver.”
“It was useless by then.” the doctor said. “There was no buried treasure. Ben Gunn had it. My plan was to get Long John Silver and his men away from the stockade(木寨).We could then get some stores from it.”
