These age differences are particularly pronounced when it comes to social media: 63% of Americans under 30 say it’s always or usually acceptable for journalists to advocate for the communities they cover when they post on social media, compared with 45% of those aged 65 or older. About three-in-ten adults under 30 think it’s generally acceptable for journalists to express political views (32%) and personal beliefs (31%) publicly on social media, roughly double the share of adults 65 and older who say the same (15% on both questions). As the news landscape in the U. S. continues to shift along with technological changes, so too do the behaviors of the youngest Americans — pointing the way toward what Americans’ news habits may look like in the years to come. 21. They should separate opinion from news. B. They should depend more on politics. C. They should be defined more broadly. D. They should avoid sharing personal beliefs. B In his senior year of high school, Wei Fangjie saw a poster recruiting PLA Air Force pilots. The pilots looked cool, and he learned that a pilot is known as a profession of the brave. So he decided to give it a try. Now 26, he works as a flight instructor at the Air Force Aviation University. In 2015, Wei was admitted to the university and became an Air Force pilot student. Pilots must not only study aviation theory but also practise difficult aerobatics (飞行特技) like rolls and loops. These moves require strong resistance to g-forces. To do a loop, a pilot bears about 3 g of load, which feels like three times their body weight pressing down. To build this resistance, they do strength training like weighted squats (负重深蹲). They also use special equipment like a spinning ladder to overcome dizziness. Yet becoming a top PLA Air Force pilot remains tough. During flight, pilots must decide how to land, especially at night, and keep position during formation flight (编队飞行). The key lies in continuous practice. In aviation, a balanced mindset and quick thinking are important. One of Wei’s unforgettable experiences was dealing with illusions (错觉) during a formation flight above the clouds. He felt he was turning all the time, but his instruments showed that his flight was level. In such situations, trusting instruments is key to sound decisions. What remains constant is the freedom and pride Wei feels as he flies his aircraft and looks down at Earth. Now, as an experienced instructor, he hopes to train a new generation of skilled pilots for the PLA Air Force. He also offers tips: do well in school subjects, protect your eyes from myopia, and maintain physical fitness. 24. Why does the author mention Wei’s senior year poster? A. To judge students’ behavior. B. To introduce his career choice. C. To describe a common sight. D. To explain the university’s design. 25. How do pilots develop resistance to g-forces? A. By flying with a spinning ladder. B. By practicing aerobatics. C. By doing strength-building exercises. D. By getting rid of dizziness. 26. What role do instruments play in Wei’s flight? A. They help pilots make sound decisions when senses fail. B. They prevent pilots from experiencing illusions. C. They are mainly used to save time. D. They are only important for night flights. 27. What can Wei’s tips contribute to according to the last paragraph? A. The development of aviation theory. B. Flying his aircraft with a sense of freedom. C. Better preparation for aspiring pilots. D. Greater knowledge of flight operation. C Eco-anxiety is a growing issue that reflects the increasing fear of environmental destruction and climate change. This type of anxiety is particularly common among younger generations, who worry about the future of the planet. Eco-anxiety is closely linked to environmental disasters such as heat waves, wildfires, and hurricanes. These events can lead to long-term stress, depression, and even post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). The concept of “Solastalgia,” which refers to emotional suffering caused by changes to one’s environment, supports the reality of eco-anxiety. Although the term “eco-anxiety” is more modern, the emotional response to environmental damage is well-documented. Certain social, economic, and political factors can make some people more likely to suffer from eco-anxiety than others. For instance, nearly half of the people in Southeast England express high levels of concern about climate change, more than those in other regions. This heightened anxiety could be related to factors such as urbanization, the area’s growing population, and high levels of consumption, all of which contribute to environmental degradation. There are several strategies people can use to manage eco-anxiety. One important approach is controlling how much negative news you consume. Too much exposure to disturbing content on social media or news outlets can increase feelings of worry and helplessness. Limiting this exposure and focusing on learning new and positive information can help you feel more empowered. Spending time in nature is another effective way to reduce eco-anxiety. Research shows that being in natural environments, or even viewing nature from a window, can lower stress and improve mood. It fosters a deeper connection with the environment and promotes calmness. Journaling is also a helpful tool. Writing down your feelings can help reduce anxiety by organizing thoughts and expressing emotions. Businesses like “Bloomin’s Minds” combine mindfulness with sustainability by offering seeded cards that customers can write on how they plant, and watch grow into flowers, creating a positive and calming experience. As eco-anxiety becomes more widespread, mindful lifestyle changes are helping to reduce the impact of climate change while easing anxiety. These practices enable individuals to contribute positively to the environment. 28. According to the text, which of the following may cause Solastalgia? A. Seeing a nearby playground being cleared. B. Watching childhood park destroyed by city development. C. Volunteering for an environmental conservation group. D. Living in a region experiencing frequent rainfall. 29. What is the function of the example about people in England? A. To show the geographic diversity of eco-anxiety. B. To explain the impact of social anxiety on nature. C. To stress the connection between urbanization and eco-anxiety. D. To criticize the lack of environmental policies in the area. 30. Which strategy is helpful to manage eco-anxiety? A. Controlling the time of online surfing. B. Limiting exposure to negative news. C. Trying to write down your adventures. D. Engaging in outdoor physical exercises. 31. What does mindful living do for eco-anxiety in the last paragraph? A. It leads people to forget about environmental problems and anxiety. B. It makes individuals feel more disconnected from environmental issues. C. It deepens a connection with the environment and promotes calmness. D. It offers practical ways for people to bravely face the climate issues. D Since plastic packaging accounts for a large part of plastic waste, one material that is becoming more and more popular as a sustainable alternative to plastic is paper. However, the problem is that sealing (封住) paper packaging requires additives such as adhesives (黏合剂) or plastic. These additives dirty the paper, complicate the recycling process, and reduce the quality of the recycled material. This poses a significant challenge to the otherwise established and efficient paper recycling process. In the PAPURE project, Fraunhofer researchers are looking to improve recyclability by sealing paper packaging without any additives. In the first step, the researchers characterize coated and uncoated papers for packaging applications, as well as printer papers and cardboard, to determine whether they are suitable for sealing without the application of further additives. Roughly three dozen types of paper are available for selection. Special attention is given to determining the primary components of the paper-lignin, hemicellulose, and cellulose. In the next step, the researchers shine a CO laser (激光) on the paper surface. The laser rapidly heats the paper, turning its main parts into small pieces in a controlled process. This innovative process step is what enables adhesive-free sealing of the paper. After the laser hits the paper, sugar-like products remain on the paper surface and seal under heat and pressure without any additional material. “By using the laser, we create sugar-like reaction products that we use instead of the man-made materials or adhesives that would otherwise be required to seal the paper by the heat sealing process. In this way, we are essentially producing our own adhesive,” says Volker Franke, a researcher at Fraunhofer. “After laser treatment, we have succeeded in using heat sealing to bond two layers of paper.” Fraunhofer researchers will be presenting the potential applications of this technology at the Interpack 2026 trade show. 32. What is the problem with sealing paper packaging? A. It wastes too much energy. B. It causes paper to tear easily. C. It lowers recycled material quality. D. It increases the cost of production. 33. What do the researchers first do in the project? A. Shine a CO laser on the paper. B. Categorize additive varieties. C. Apply additives to the paper. D. Examine paper suitability. 34. What role does the laser play? A. It enables the formation of bonding substances. B. It strengthens the fibers of recycled materials. C. It damages the paper surface structure. D. It removes natural paper components. 35. Which is the most suitable title for the text? A. Real Challenges for Paper Industry B. Conventional Technique for Paper Bonding C. Common Practice for Paper Packaging D. Sustainable Solution for Paper Sealing 第二节(共5小题;每小题2.5分,满分12.5分) 阅读下面短文,从短文后的选项中选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。 Music and art have always been closely connected, with each influencing the other in important ways. Artists are increasingly integrating musical elements into their work, creating experiences that blur (模糊) the boundaries between the auditory and visual senses. One of the most striking examples of this trend is the rise of “sound art” which explores the relationship between sound and visual representation. Sound art combinations often involve large-scale, interactive sound environments. 36 They can create an environment where the viewer becomes an active participant in the artistic experience. 37 This integration allows for a dynamic interplay between sound and image. The live performances add an element of naturalness and unpredictability to the exhibitions, making each visit a unique and unrepeatable experience. Moreover, the use of music in film and video art has also developed. Artists are now experimenting with soundscapes that extend beyond traditional narrative (叙述) structures, using music to arouse emotions and create atmosphere rather than simply underline plot points. 38 Despite these innovations, some artists argue that the integration of music into art can sometimes have different effects from the primary visual message. 39 They believe that music should serve as a complement (补充) to the visual art, enhancing its effect rather than overshadowing it. To address this concern, many artists are now focusing on creating a more harmonious balance between music and visual art. 40 By carefully selecting and integrating musical elements, they aim to create works that are both visually striking and aurally (听觉上) engaging, offering viewers a truly multisensory experience. A. The artist dislikes composing original music for the artworks. B. This special art form often challenges traditional ideas of storytelling. C. This trend highlights the importance of finding the right balance between them. D. These connections often use technology to transform sound in innovative ways. E. Another notable development is the integration of live music into art exhibitions. F. Instead, this does not mean that music should always give way to visual art. G. Critics have warned that the overuse of music can strongly impact the viewer’s senses. 第三部分 语言运用(共两节,满分30分) 第一节(共15小题;每小题1分,满分15分) 阅读下面短文,从每题所给的A、B、C、D四个选项中选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项。 From 1991 to 1994, I studied in Edmonton and often traveled around Alberta, a province in West Canada. Since childhood, the thrill of the wind against his face and the rhythm of his feet hitting the ground filled him with a sense of purpose and joy. He dreamed of participating in the city marathon and winning it. In high school, he enthusiastically joined the track team with great hope. However, his first race turned out terrible. He tripped and fell near the finish line amid other people’s laughter. Shamed but determined, he decided to prove himself. He trained hard every day, waking up before dawn to run several miles. Yet misfortune struck during an important practice: he pulled a muscle and had to rest for weeks. He was frustrated as he watched his teammates progress. His confidence took a huge hit, and doubt began to rise. When he recovered and went back to training, he found it difficult to regain his previous form. Each run felt like a struggle, and he constantly questioned if he had lost his edge. Just as he was starting to make progress and regain his speed, a new setback appeared. He fell ill and stayed in bed for a month. The loss of fitness and strength was disheartening, and the fear of having to start all over again appeared. When he finally returned to training, he found that he had lost much of his endurance and had to work twice as hard to catch up. However, Jason refused to give in. He trained even harder, pushing his limits every day. Long runs under the sun, tiring speed workouts, and intense strength training became his routine. The pain and the exhaustion were constant companions, but he never let them stop him. He believed that all his struggles and perseverance would finally pay off. 注意: (1)续写词数应为150个左右; (2)请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。 Finally, the day of the marathon arrived, the starting gun fired, and the race began. ______________________ ____________________________________________________________________________________________ Breathing heavily, Jason leaned against the fence beside the finish line, exhausted but overjoyed. 56. engineering 57. led 58. anticipated 59. combination 60. and 61. agricultural 62. for 63. that/which 64. is designed 65. a 写作 第一节 Possible version: Dear Terry, Last week our class had a PE class in Yushanhu Park, which was really unforgettable. We took part in various outdoor activities. Some classmates played badminton while others jogged along the lake. I joined in a relay race with my teammates. Though tired, we laughed a lot in the fresh open air. This outdoor PE class gave me a break from heavy schoolwork. It’s amazing to do sports surrounded by beautiful scenery. I hope we can have more such classes. Best regards, Li Hua 第二节 Possible version: Finally, the day of the marathon arrived, the starting gun fired, and the race began. Jason set off with the other runners. Memories of falls, muscle injuries and illness flashed through his mind. Though his legs ached and sweat poured down his face, he kept pushing forward steadily. Whenever he wanted to give up, he thought of all the hard training he had done. Mile after mile passed. Gradually some competitors slowed down, yet Jason stuck to his own pace. Step by step, he moved toward the finish line. Breathing heavily, Jason leaned against the fence beside the finish line, exhausted but overjoyed. He did not win first prize, but he had finished the whole marathon. All those set-backs and endless training finally paid off. Past failures no longer brought him shame. Instead, they became valuable treasures. He realized victory was not just about winning the race, but about refusing to give up when difficulties came. With bright smiles, Jason felt proud of himself. 【听力原文】 (text1) M: Oh, I’m really sorry. I’ve forgotten to bring your French notebook back. W: That’s okay. We haven’t got French class today, so you can give it back to me tomorrow. (text 2) W: I’m so frustrated. I made a big mistake at work today. I feel like I let everyone down. M: Don’t be so hard on yourself. Making mistakes is a part of life. You know, mistakes can actually be great opportunities for learning and growth. (text 3) M: It’s already 3 p. m. now. Can I leave a message? I have class at 3:50 p. m. W: Of course you can, but the meeting has just ended. Dr. White will be back in about 10 minutes. (text 4) W: Henry, have you ever tried using chopsticks? I always struggle to pick up food with them. How about you? M: My grandmother was Chinese and I grew up using chopsticks. So it’s second nature to me now. (text 5) W: I’m considering moving back in with my parents. M: Really? That’s quite a decision. What made you think of this? W: Well, my parents are getting older. I just feel like they could get some extra help around the house. (text 6) W: Do you have any plans for the weekend? M: Yes, I’m planning to visit Lily’s Center. It is a community art center that offers different classes, a fun way to help people learn new art skills. I’ll try out their printmaking department. W: Sounds interesting. M: Yeah. Plus the activities outside the classes are also interesting. For example, the center has a rooftop garden. Recently, they expanded their relaxation space into a cafe, which was supposed to be finished in March, but it was delayed by one month. (text 7) W: David, have you heard about the latest book from Warga? M: No. What’s it called? W: A Strange Thing Happened in Cherry Hall. M: That sounds like science fiction, doesn’t it? W: No, it is actually a mystery. It’s about a boy named Rami who tries to solve a mystery in a museum. But there’s a deep theme in it. As a kid, the author really wanted to be seen but was scared of being seen in the wrong ways. She wants readers to know they deserve to be seen. It is really a good read. M: Can I borrow the book from you? W: Sorry, but I’ve already lent it to my neighbor. You can get one at the bookstore in our neighborhood. M: Okay, I’ll go to have a look. (text 8) M: Jenny, how was your trip to the Philippines? W: Great. I spent most of the time sightseeing in Manila and visiting some historical places. M: Did you do anything special there? W: Yes. One day I met a girl named Halina. She came up to me and started chatting in surprisingly good English. However, I’d worked out that it wasn’t a school holiday there, so I wondered why Halina wasn’t in school. M: What did you find? W: When I met her family, I saw that they had almost no furniture in the house. And for Halina to go to school, they needed books, pencils and so on. But they couldn’t afford them. M: Tough life. W: So when I got back home, I got in touch with an organization called Helping Hand. And I told them about Halina. They visited her family and decided it was the right sort of place for one of their development programs. (text 9) M: Addy, I’ve heard that you joined a special letter writing organization. W: Yes. It’s an organization that writes letters. It’s called the Juliet Club. M: How does it work? W: People write to Juliet about friendships, family or relationship problems. The Juliet Club secretaries write replies to all the letters or emails. M: Do you mean people write letters by hand? W: Yes. Handwritten letters allow people to express their feelings in a different way. Most of them are sent to the main office in Verona. That’s the city where the story of Romeo and Juliet took place. M: How did you get involved in the work? W: I actually wrote to the Juliet Club myself after I fell out with my best friend. I was so inspired by the reply that I decided to volunteer. M: How does being a Juliet Club volunteer make you feel? W: Well, I’m writing replies to people who are suffering from problems. I definitely feel like a better person when I’m helping strangers. I know what I’m doing is meaningful. (text 10) M: I work as a delivery person. I collect and deliver letters and parcels by bike. Many people say they hate my job, but I love it. One reason is that the cycling helps maintain my fitness. But what I rank top of all the jobs advantages is the freedom I have. I’m in charge of my working day. My bike isn’t anything special, but it’s easy to ride. I’m an expert at repairing bikes nowadays, but when I started, I used to get a colleague to help me. Then I got my cousin to show me how to do it properly. And it’s never been a problem since. Being self-employed, I can choose how many hours I put in each day. Most delivery men work between seven and 10 hours. I work from 9 a. m. to 6 p. m. as a rule. However, it’s not a job you can do forever. I’ve thought about starting my own delivery company. But I think I’d prefer to be a personal trainer that would use all the things I’m best at. 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $
