根据文章“Walk 3 — Moonlight Under the Stars (步行3——星光下的月光)”部分中的“Those who are dressed inappropriately will be refused permission to participate.(穿着不当的人将被拒绝参加)”可知,第三种步行方案的参与者需要穿合适的衣服。故选A项。 B On my first round-the-world trip, I planned everything out in advance. I knew where I was going, where I was staying, for how long, and how I would get there. And then half-way through I gave up the plan and went with the flow. Over the years, how I plan my travel has changed. Now, I’m a last-minute planner and seldom travel with any plan. Travelling without a plan gives you great flexibility (灵活性). Since nothing is booked far in advance, you can turn to something different when you change your mind or something better comes along. I changed my plans to meet a friend on an island in Thailand and stayed for a month. I wouldn’t have had that experience if I had kept to my planned schedule. However, most new travellers behave quite differently — they overplan their trips. Their whole journey is scheduled. Two days here, three days there. I understand why people do that. When time is short, you want to see as much as possible rather than waste a single second. But in travel, less is more. Spending more time in one place allows you to get a better feel for local life. You can visit at a more relaxed pace, see more than just the attractions, and open up your schedule to the happy accidents of travel. When I first made my travel plan, I tried to include everything in it. Then I realised it was unworkable, so I revised my plan. I came up with a list of one or two things I want to see each day and spaced everything out. It’s an important lesson to learn. I think the best trip plan is to work out the general path you want to take, book the first few nights of your trip, and let your travels unfold from there. This way you are never locked into a certain place if your feelings change. 4. How does the author usually plan trips now? A. By arranging every detail in advance. B. By making plans in the final hour. C. By following a fixed daily schedule. D. By booking the whole journey ahead. 5. Why do most new travellers plan their trips in great detail? A. To spend more time in one place. B. To learn more about local people. C. To see as much as possible in limited time. D. To leave time for unexpected experiences. 6. What can be inferred from the passage? A. Travellers usually avoid booking rooms ahead. B. Changing travel plans often leads to a waste of time. C. A detailed schedule is necessary for enjoying local life. D. A rewarding trip does not have to include many places. 7. What could be the best title for the passage? A. Plan Less, Enjoy More B. Travel Together, Share Freely C. Plan Ahead, Travel Smoothly D. Stay Less, Visit More 【答案】4. B 5. C 6. D 7. 根据第一段“Now, I’m a last-minute planner and seldom travel with any plan.(现在,我是一个临时做计划的人,很少带着任何计划去旅行)”可知,作者现在常常最后一刻才做旅行规划。 根据第三段“I understand why people do that. When time is short, you want to see as much as possible rather than waste a single second.(我理解他们这么做的原因。当时间有限时,他们想要尽可能多看景点,不想浪费一秒钟)”可知,新手详细规划行程是为了在有限时间多看东西。 【6题详解】 推理判断题。根据第四段“But in travel, less is more. Spending more time in one place allows you to get a better feel for local life.(但在旅行中,少即是多。在一个地方多停留一段时间,你能更好感受当地生活)”可知,一场有意义的旅行不必打卡很多地方。 【7题详解】 主旨大意题。根据第一段“On my first round-the-world trip, I planned everything out in advance. I knew where I was going, where I was staying, for how long, and how I would get there. And then half-way through I gave up the plan and went with the flow. Over the years, how I plan my travel has changed. Now, I’m a last-minute planner and seldom travel with any plan.(在我第一次环游世界时,我提前规划了一切。我知道要去哪里、住在哪里、待多久以及如何到达目的地。但到了中途,我放弃了原计划,随遇而安。多年来,我的旅行规划方式发生了变化。如今,我更倾向于临时安排行程,很少有明确的计划去旅行)”结合文章主张旅行不必详尽规划,少做计划,放慢节奏,收获更好体验。故A选项“少点规划,多点享受”最符合文章标题。 C We can message on WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger and Snapchat — but are we losing the convenience of the phone conversation? Who has time to chat when you can spend hours on WhatsApp? Most of my phone calls are less than a minute long. If I unintentionally hit “Answer” instead of pressing the “Ignore” button, I usually say, “Hold on, I’ll call you back,” before quickly typing out a “What’s up?” text. My list of recent phone calls is limited to four people and unless we live together, are related, or dating, there’s very little chance that you’ll be added to that list. It seems I’m not the only one who’s abandoning the phone call. The average adult spends more time on media or communication per day than on sleeping, but among all that communication, the phone call is the medium that’s falling. So why has the phone call fallen out of favour? Many messaging apps seem to have created a form of communication, so that the phone call is no longer the standard way of talking over long distances, but a relatively personal thing. Rachel, 24, says that she used to speak to all her girlfriends on the phone but now only calls a few. “I rarely even speak to good friends on the phone and if they call me, I’m like, ‘Hello, is something wrong?’” says Rachel. “If I do a phone call, it feels really official, like it’s a big deal.” Instead of taking the time to ring a friend and catch up, it now seems easier to send a short message. And unless you’re very close to someone, an unscheduled phone call can feel like an invasion (冒犯). While text messages can be put to one side for hours or even days, a phone call demands attention in the moment. But while text messages and emails may be a more efficient way of sharing basic facts and information, they’re not necessarily the best way of communication. We may be communicating more than ever before, but we seem to be listening far less. 8. What does the author usually do after answering a call by mistake? A. Adds the caller to a contact list. B. Sends the caller a short text. C. Calls back a few minutes later. D. Continues talking for several minutes. 9. What would the author most likely agree with according to paragraph 6? A. Texting requires more timely attention than phone calls. B. Late replies to messages tend to damage close friendships. C. Phone calls usually help people build closer friendships. D. Texting gives people more control over when to respond. 10. What is the author’s attitude towards the way of communication nowadays? A. Concerned. B. Neutral. C. Uninterested. D. Confident. 11. What is the passage mainly about? A. The roles of calls in keeping close relationships. B. The benefits of messaging apps in sharing information. C. The influences of declining phone calls on communication. D. The challenges of learning to use messaging apps. B 9. D 10. A 11. 根据第二段中“If I unintentionally hit “Answer” instead of pressing the “Ignore” button, I usually say, “Hold on, I’ll call you back,” before quickly typing out a “What’s up?” text. (如果我不小心按到了“接听”而不是“忽略”按钮,我通常会先说一句“稍等,我给你回过去”,之后快速打出一条“有什么事吗?”的短信。)”可知,作者误接电话之后,通常会给来电人发一条简短的文字消息。 【9题详解】 推理判断题。根据第六段中“While text messages can be put to one side for hours or even days, a phone call demands attention in the moment. (短信可以被搁置几个小时甚至好几天,但一通电话却要求你立刻投入注意力。)”可知,相比电话,发消息能让人们自主决定回复的时间,拥有更高的主动权。 【10题详解】 推理判断题。根据最后一段“But while text messages and emails may be a more efficient way of sharing basic facts and information, they’re not necessarily the best way of communication. We may be communicating more than ever before, but we seem to be listening far less. D “Are you even listening to me?” It’s a question that an anxious mother often throws at her teenagers, and the truthful answer is probably. “No.” It’s hard to really blame them. A new study, which was published on April 28 in the Journal of Neuroscience, suggests the reaction we have to certain voices naturally changes with time, making our mother’s voice feel less valuable. The scientists scanned the adolescent brains, and found that in the brains of children 12 and under, hearing Mom’ s voice triggers an explosion of unique response. Yet sometime around a kid’s 13th birthday, a change happens. The mother’s voice no longer leads to the same neurological reaction. Teenagers no longer find their mother’s voice uniquely rewarding. Instead, their brains appear more responsive to all voices in general, whether new or remembered. The change is so clear that researchers are able to guess a child’ s age simply based on how their brains respond to their mother’s voice. “Just as a baby knows to pay attention to his or her mother’s voice, an adolescent knows to pay attention to novel (新的) voices.” explains Daniel Abram from Stanford University. “As a teen, you don’t know you’re doing this. You’re just being you: You’ve got your friends and you want to spend time with them. Your mind is increasingly sensitive to and attracted to these novel voices.” A large number of studies have shown that for young children, a mother’s voice plays an important role in their health and development, influencing their stress levels, their feeding skills, and their processing of speech. So it makes sense that a child’s brain would be especially in tune with the voice of their parents. However, there comes a point when listening to other people other than your mother is more beneficial. “When teens appear to be rebelling (叛逆) by not listening to their parents, it is because they want to pay more attention to voices outside their home,” says neuroscientist Vinod Menon, also from Stanford University. These changes could be normal parts of healthy social development, allowing teenagers to better understand the ideas of others.” These are changes that help teens form connections which allow them to be socially adept (熟练的) outside their families.” 12. Why does the author mention the question in the first paragraph? A. To prove a theory. B. To make a prediction. C. To introduce the topic. D. To give a possible explanation. 13. What does the underlined word “trigger” in paragraph 3 mean? A. result in B. argue for C. count on D. take in 14. What can we infer from Daniel Abram’s words? A. Adolescents find their mother’s voice unique. B. adolescents ignore their mother’s voice on purpose. C. Adolescents are naturally attracted to novel voices. D. Adolescents are aware of their changing reaction to voices. 15. What may be the advantage of teens’ changes according to the passage? A. They can reduce parents’ stress. B. They can change teens’ brain completely. C. They can help improve academic performance. D. They can help teens get along well with others. C 13. A 14. C 15. 根据第二段“A new study, which was published on April 28 in the Journal of Neuroscience, suggests the reaction we have to certain voices naturally changes with time, making our mother’s voice feel less valuable. 根据第三段中“The mother’s voice no longer leads to the same neurological reaction. 故选A项。 根据第四段Daniel Abram的话“Just as a baby knows to pay attention to his or her mother’s voice, an adolescent knows to pay attention to novel (新的) voices. 文章最后一段提到“These changes could be normal parts of healthy social development, allowing teenagers to better understand the ideas of others. The introduction of AI-driven virtual classrooms is a great new development in modern education. One day, Ben was playing basketball in the living room after school, when he accidentally threw the ball at a vase sitting on the shelf. The vase dropped to the floor, and a large piece broke off. What made Ben more upset was that the vase was not a common decoration but an antique (古董), which was handed down through generations from the 18th century. It was also his mother’s favourite possession. To cover his terrible action, the terrified boy glued the pieces together hastily and put the vase back in its place. As the mother herself dusted the vase every day, she naturally noticed the cracks (裂纹) that evening. To her surprise, the repair work was actually very good. At dinner time, she asked her boy if he had broken the vase. Fearing punishment, the suddenly inspired boy said that a neighbor’s cat jumped in from the window and he couldn’t drive it away, no matter how hard he tried. It raced around the living room and finally knocked the vase off its shelf. His mother was quite clear that her son was lying, for all the windows were closed before she left for work each morning and opened after she returned. However, in the face of her son’s nervous eyes and the suspicious looks of the other family members, Ben’s mother remained calm. She realized she shouldn’t just simply blame and punish her son for lying. She came up with another idea. Before going to bed, the boy found a note from his mother in his room, asking him to go to the study at once. The boy thought he would now be punished, but, as he had already lied, he decided to deny everything, no matter how angry his mum became. In the study, calmly bathed in the light, his mother’s face showed no sign of anger. On seeing her son push open the door and cautiously enter, she took a chocolate box out of a drawer and gave him one. The mother said, “This chocolate is a reward for your imagination: a window-opening cat!” ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Now with some chocolates in hand, the boy’s bad attitude disappeared. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 【答案】 The mother said, “This chocolate is a reward for your imagination: a window-opening cat!” Ben’s face turned red as he stared at the chocolate in his hand. His mother gently touched his head and continued, “You glued the vase carefully, which shows you truly cared about making things right.” She paused, her eyes warm and understanding. “But imagination should help us solve problems, not hide from them.” Ben bit his lip, realizing his mother had known the truth all along. Now with some chocolates in hand, the boy’s bad attitude disappeared. He took a deep breath and whispered, “Mom, I’m sorry. I broke the vase while playing basketball and lied to you.” His mother smiled softly, “I’m proud of you for telling the truth. Mistakes happen, but honesty is more precious than any antique.” She handed him another chocolate, “Let’s fix it together tomorrow, okay?” Ben nodded, holding the chocolate tightly, grateful for his mother’s wisdom and love. 2.续写线索: 母亲用巧克力回应谎言——指出问题所在——Ben态度转变并主动承认错误——母亲接纳并提议共同解决——Ben感受到了母亲的关爱与智慧 词汇激活 行为类 ①盯着:stare at/gaze at ②意识到:realize/be aware of ③发生:happen/occur ④修理:fix/repair 情感类 ①温柔的:gentle/tender ②温暖的:warm/affectionate ③感激的:grateful/thankful 【点睛】[高分句型1] His mother gently touched his head and continued, “You glued the vase carefully, which shows you truly cared about making things right.”(运用了which引导的非限制性定语从句,修饰You glued the vase carefully整个句子) [高分句型2] Ben bit his lip, realizing his mother had known the truth all along.(运用了现在分词短语作伴随状语,且其中包含省略了引导词that的宾语从句) 第1页/共1页 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $ 高一年级第一学期第一次大练习 英语 时量:120分钟 满分:150分 第一部分 听力(共两节,满分30分) 做题时,先将答案标在试卷上。 1. Stay Less, Visit More C We can message on WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger and Snapchat — but are we losing the convenience of the phone conversation? ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 第1页/共1页 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $
