第三节
听下面短文,根据你所听到的内容,完成以下表格,每空填一词。短文读三遍。
Our school learning exhibition will open on Thursday afternoon. The main display is in the library, not the sports hall. Each group should present one project from this term. Explain its purpose, one thing you learned and one question that remains. A photograph or diagram may be included if it is useful and you have permission to share it. Each introduction should take five minutes. Visitors will receive a card for writing comments. Please listen to their questions patiently instead of assuming they know the topic already. The teacher will collect the cards after the exhibition. On Friday, groups will use the comments to plan an improvement. The exhibition celebrates careful learning and teamwork, not a claim that every project is perfect.

One Important Thing I Learned This Term
This term, I learned to check an idea before treating it as a fact. During a local-history activity, I thought one photograph proved that life had improved for everyone. My teacher asked what the picture actually showed. I checked a map and listened to two residents, who had different experiences. I revised my report and described the limits honestly. Now I ask what evidence supports a claim. In my next project, I will begin with a clear question and remain willing to change my first idea.
短文填空未限定词形的空格,其他语义、语法均正确且符合每空一词要求的答案亦可。

At the school learning exhibition, Nan’s group planned to show an old map beside a new one. Nan wrote that the neighborhood had become more convenient for 36. ________. Her partner asked whether they had spoken to every resident.
They had not. The maps showed changed paths, but did not show everyone’s experience. Nan changed the claim and decided to ask a 37. ________ question: how had the journey to the library changed?
With a teacher’s permission, they interviewed two local people. One liked the new footpath; the other found a crossing difficult to use. The group recorded both views instead of 38. ________ the one that did not fit its first idea.
Nan then tried the route with her grandfather. They stayed on public paths and checked the entrance notice before leaving. The journey helped her see why a short route might still have a 39. ________ for some travelers. A useful map did not replace attention to the person using it.
For the display, the group drew a simple route diagram. It separated the checked map details from the residents’ 40. ________. It also explained that the interviews represented only two experiences.
A visitor asked Nan about a building shown on the old map. She did not know what it had been used for. Instead of guessing, she wrote down the 41. ________ and promised to check a suitable source. Her teacher said that admitting uncertainty could be part of responsible learning.
After the exhibition, Nan reviewed the comments. Several visitors wanted clearer directions to the accessible entrance. The group discussed a new information card and asked an adult to help 42. ________ it.
Nan’s project had changed from a broad statement into a useful investigation. She learned to ask, listen and 43. ________ evidence. The final display was not perfect, but people could understand what it showed. She felt proud because her group had become more careful, not because its first opinion had been 44. ________. IV. 阅读理解(共两节,满分45分)
第一节(共20小题;每小题2分,满分40分)
阅读下列短文,根据短文内容,从每小题所给的A、B、C、D四个选项中选出最佳答案。
A
Young Guides Day
The town learning center invites Grade 9 students to help with Young Guides Day on December 5. Training begins at 1:00 p.m., and visitors arrive at 2:00. The event ends at 4:00. Student helpers must attend the training before guiding anyone.
Each pair will introduce one display about local life, language or technology. The center provides an information card, but students should understand the main point rather than read every line without looking up. An adult guide will remain nearby to answer questions that need specialist knowledge.
Bring a notebook and wear comfortable shoes. Do not share a visitor’s photograph or voice recording without permission. If you are unsure of an answer, say so and ask the adult guide. Guessing confidently is not part of the task.
After the event, pairs will describe one question that visitors asked and one improvement they would make to their explanation. The center wants helpers to learn from the experience, not pretend every introduction was perfect. Register with Ms Huang by December 2. Sixteen student places are available. If your plan changes, tell her early so she can arrange the teams again. Helping a visitor includes preparing carefully, communicating clearly and knowing when to seek support.
46. When does training begin?
A. At 2:00 p.m. B. At 4:00 p.m.
C. At 1:00 p.m. D. At noon.
47. What must helpers do before guiding visitors?
A. Buy a recording device. B. Attend the training.
C. Memorize every visitor’s name. D. Prepare a full speech to memorize.
48. How should a pair use its information card?
A. Understand the main point and explain it.
B. Read every line without looking up.
C. Use it only to remember the date. D. Change every fact randomly.
49. What should helpers do if unsure of an answer?
A. Guess confidently. B. Admit it and ask the adult guide.
C. Look for a different card and guess. D. Refuse every later question.
50. What will pairs reflect on after the event?
A. Only how long the event lasted. B. Only the number of cards handed out.
C. A visitor’s question and an explanation improvement.
D. How to avoid future training.
B
Su noticed that her grandmother sometimes used expressions she had never heard at school. She first asked her grandmother to replace them with “normal words.” Her grandmother smiled but became quieter. Su did not understand why.
Later, her mother explained that those expressions belonged to the place where her grandmother had grown up. They were part of stories about relatives, festivals and daily work. Su realized that calling only familiar language “normal” had dismissed something important to another person.
She apologized and asked whether her grandmother would like to explain one expression. They sat together and discussed a short story in which it was used. Su learned more from the situation than from copying a single meaning into a list.
With her grandmother’s permission, she wrote the story for a family booklet. She checked the names and left out private details that were not needed. She did not claim that every person from the same place used the expression in exactly the same way.
At school, Su described what she had learned about listening. An unfamiliar expression did not have to be rejected before it was understood. Asking respectfully could open a story. She still needed help with some words, but she now saw difference as a reason for curiosity rather than a reason to decide another person’s speech was wrong.
51. How did Su first respond to unfamiliar expressions?
A. Asked politely about every story. B. Asked for “normal words.”
C. Checked their meaning in a booklet. D. Already understood every word.
52. Why were the expressions meaningful to the grandmother?
A. They connected with her earlier life and stories.
B. They were all school exam answers.
C. They replaced every language.
D. They were all used by her school friends.
53. What helped Su understand one expression?
A. Rejecting it immediately. B. Copying only the number of letters.
C. Avoiding all questions.
D. Discussing the story and situation of its use.
54. What did Su do before writing the family booklet?
A. Published unnecessary private details.
B. Claimed everyone used words identically.
C. Asked each relative to write a separate page.
D. Asked permission and checked details.
55. What change can we infer in Su?
A. She became more respectful and curious about language difference.
B. She stopped listening to her grandmother.
C. She judged every difference as wrong. D. She no longer asked for help.
C
A heading can help readers prepare for a paragraph, but it does not replace the paragraph itself. It gives a clue about the topic. Readers still need to see how the sentences develop that topic and what the writer actually claims.
In one lesson, students read a story called "A Small Change." One student guessed that it would describe a new classroom decoration. The story actually followed a group whose paper bridge kept falling over during a safe model test. A wider base helped the bridge stand more steadily.
The teacher asked which details explained the change. The students selected the narrow first base, the result of the test and the wider second base. The color of a notebook appeared in the story too, but it did not explain why the model improved.
The class then revised its short summary. It did not say the group had built the strongest bridge in the world. It described a particular problem and the change that helped in one test. The students checked each sentence against the story before sharing it.
A heading had started their thinking, but evidence helped them correct the first guess. Reading for a main idea means connecting the important details rather than treating every detail as equally central. A useful summary reflects the text, not the story a reader expected to find.
56. What can a heading provide?
A. A complete account of every event. B. Proof that a first guess is correct.
C. The reason for every change. D. A clue about the topic.
57. What did the student first expect the story to describe?
A. A stronger paper bridge. B. A safe model test.
C. A wider bridge base. D. A new classroom decoration.
58. Why did the wider base matter?
A. It changed the notebook color.
B. It helped the model stand more steadily.
C. It made the bridge look more attractive.
D. It removed the need for a test.
59. Which detail was less central to explaining the improvement?
A. The narrow first base. B. The result of the model test.
C. The color of a notebook. D. The wider second base.
60. What does the writer mainly recommend?
A. Use headings instead of reading. B. Keep every detail in a summary.
C. Keep the first interpretation unchanged.
D. Check reading clues against the text and its evidence.
D
The community center planned to show a short video at its reading afternoon. Rui, a student helper, checked the screen and sound before visitors arrived. Everything seemed ready. Then the connection stopped during the opening of the event.
Rui felt that the afternoon had failed. The organizer asked what the group had intended people to do. The aim was to share stories and encourage conversation, not simply to watch a screen. Paper story cards were available from an earlier activity.
The helpers arranged small groups with adult supervision. Each group chose a card and discussed what might happen next. One older visitor told a related childhood story. A younger child drew a possible ending. The room soon filled with conversation.
After the afternoon, Rui did not write that the connection problem was a good thing in itself. It had interrupted the plan and needed to be reported. However, the backup materials had allowed the main purpose to continue. The organizer arranged for qualified staff to check the equipment afterward.
Rui’s reflection described preparation, the interruption, the response and what the group would change. She wanted the next plan to include alternatives from the start. Technology had supported the event, but the purpose and the people mattered too. A screen was one way to share a story, not the only reason the community had gathered.
61. What went wrong at the beginning?
A. The connection stopped. B. All story cards were missing.
C. The planned speaker could not attend. D. The building had no adults.
62. What was the event’s main purpose?
A. Watching a screen at any cost.
B. Sharing stories and encouraging conversation.
C. Selling the newest device. D. Testing children’s repair skills.
63. How did the group continue the activity?
A. Asked children to repair equipment. B. Canceled every conversation.
C. Used paper cards for small-group discussions.
D. Repeated an empty screen silently.
64. What did Rui say about the interruption afterward?
A. It was a real problem, but a backup helped the purpose continue.
B. It was always good for every event.
C. It proved equipment should never be checked.
D. It removed the need for future preparation.
65. What did she want in the next plan?
